The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

We have had lots of staff changes in the team this year and sadly RebeccaEMumsnet is leaving us at Christmas to go back up north - we wish her the best - she’s a Star.

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A Just for Tots weekend break at Butlins in Minehead in May - this would be for a family in a newly refurbished Seaside Apartment with premium dining (worth more than £800) or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend in Matalan or
~ A REN skincare Moroccan Rose Otto Luxury set worth £49

In 2016, we have given away over £50,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

Our faves this year have been giving MNers and their families money to spend in PizzaExpress on their new menu, sending them to the Slumberland factory (and then hearing how their new mattresses helped make bedtime bliss), having a Wizarding Time with a massive MN group at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford and being one of the first to try and hear loads about new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar at Coke HQ. We LOVED your imaginary play tales for MegaBloks and we were thrilled when our baby names survey made the headlines.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel * - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on our new-for-this-year twitter page @MumsnetInsight *

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin

We've had so much fun this year testing various products and reviewing books - thank you Mumsnet! My children feel very important when they have something to give feedback about, and take it terribly seriously Grin. Testing the Visqueen bin liners was one of my favourites - such a great product. My LO's enjoyed testing Disney Life. I actually really liked the variety of things to test, so household, food or children's products...I don't mind, just keep them coming please! Xmas Smile

I'd like to test anything that purports to help babies/toddlers sleep as I'm very cynical but really WANT to find something that helps.

Or anything that helps with the housework. The sheer amount of extra cleaning and tidying and laundry that comes with having a child was something of a shock to me.

sillygoof · 22/12/2016 06:20

I've signed up to the panel - I'd love to do product testing! I'd test anything really; it's the excitement of trying something new, especially if it is before it is available to the public.

oliversax · 22/12/2016 06:26

I liked reading about the kobold floor cleaner. It looked amazing. Any household appliance product tests are always welcome.

cardboardPeony · 22/12/2016 07:29

I'd like to test different types of tea!

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/12/2016 08:03

I love doing the survey's but find I miss out on the product tests as by the time I see them they are closed. Must be more vigilant next year

JulesJules · 22/12/2016 08:29

I love doing product tests and also the discussion panel type things .

I loved testing the Visqueen binbags! *(Not sad Grin)

WowOoo · 22/12/2016 09:37

I'd love to test anything food or drink related.

doctorboo · 22/12/2016 12:33

I've been so fortunate to test quite a few products this year and won a couple of prizes too (the last lot made me cry and brightened a difficult end of the year.

My youngest loved testing the baby food, my eldest was pleased to use sun cream that didn't make him itch and so actually enjoyed my book review as it meant I had to make 'me' time Wink Grin

I'd love to test products that help make things a bit easier when your out and about with young kids...these may be mythical...I can't be the only one who needs extra eyes, hands and storage, when out with my boys( 5, 3 and 18 month old)? Something for my ASD 5 year old would be amazing (fidget toy or something similar.)

Have followed on Twitter 👍🏻

HamletsSister · 22/12/2016 13:38

I would love to product test more beauty products for older women and more products where the testing could be done with teenagers. My kids love the food products or the gadgets we occasionally get but a lot of the tests are for people with younger children (fair enough) but we would love some more!

HamletsSister · 22/12/2016 13:39

Oh and I loved the bin bags too (and still buy them - they are amazing and DH hoards them - we are only allowed to use them sometimes if he deems the rubbish special enough.)

Ashhead24 · 22/12/2016 13:40

We got Merry Christmas Blue Kangaroo via MN too, DS loves it. Would love to test books or edibles.

Lyn29 · 22/12/2016 14:18

This year I have been lucky enough to receive the pedigree trial and the cadburys buttons. My dog was very chuffed when the pedigree hamper turned up and dd enjoyed baking with the Cadburys chocolate buttons.
In 2017 it would be great to test school uniform (didn't realise how scruffy uniform looks after a few weeks) family friendly restaurants would be great, days out for children to review, products for parents and children with eczema, food and without sounding selfish something for me to pamper myself with would be lovely!!!!!Smile

xxmissbrightsidexx · 22/12/2016 14:31

Id love to test anything out, im never lucky enough to get picked x

Trolleybus1 · 22/12/2016 14:53

would not mind testing just one

Quills · 22/12/2016 16:47

I love being part of the panel!

In 2017 I would like to be able to test Child's Farm products, luxury skincare for parents, potty training products as I tackle it with DD2, and sensory toys for older children.

bertdynamite · 22/12/2016 17:16

I tested the bin bags - they were very impressive, and we decorated a not very impressive chocolate egg. I would like to have some things to test that are aimed at teens.

poopoopoo · 22/12/2016 17:30

Re-tweeted Grin

GooseFriend · 22/12/2016 18:17

I've joined the panel. Can you test dehumidifiers next year?

SweetPeaPods · 22/12/2016 18:35

Oh yes a dehumidifier would be great.

4isplenty · 22/12/2016 19:07

I had the good fortune to have been chosen to test Lloyds sun cream and it could not have come at a better time. We were out at open farm day visiting two of our local farms.
If I could choose something to test it would have to be a vacumn cleaner, my poor dyson cannot cope anymore 😊

Maniacalparrot · 22/12/2016 19:09

The best test we had so far is a tablet device.
I used this as an incentive for my younger son to stay in his bed all night ( he is a bit of a cuddler and used to try and get in bed with me or his older brother for a cuddle in the middle of the night). It really worked and my view of this type of product has changed.
I would love to test kids sporting activities next year. Really keen to find some fun activities to keep my boys active as they are not keen footballers.

hannahlubella · 22/12/2016 19:10

Just joined the panel. Roll on 2017...

Terrorised · 22/12/2016 19:19

We most enjoyed the Harry Potter studio tickets and were overwhelmed by MN and Warner Bros' generosity 😊

rupert23 · 22/12/2016 19:31

i would like to test more household products. My dog loved the pedigree chum test. He enjoyed the food and his coat was really shiny after the trial too which was a bonus. i would also like to test more days out with the children as that is something that they really love.
