The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

We have had lots of staff changes in the team this year and sadly RebeccaEMumsnet is leaving us at Christmas to go back up north - we wish her the best - she’s a Star.

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A Just for Tots weekend break at Butlins in Minehead in May - this would be for a family in a newly refurbished Seaside Apartment with premium dining (worth more than £800) or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend in Matalan or
~ A REN skincare Moroccan Rose Otto Luxury set worth £49

In 2016, we have given away over £50,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

Our faves this year have been giving MNers and their families money to spend in PizzaExpress on their new menu, sending them to the Slumberland factory (and then hearing how their new mattresses helped make bedtime bliss), having a Wizarding Time with a massive MN group at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford and being one of the first to try and hear loads about new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar at Coke HQ. We LOVED your imaginary play tales for MegaBloks and we were thrilled when our baby names survey made the headlines.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel * - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on our new-for-this-year twitter page @MumsnetInsight *

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin
AnnMumsnet, PoppyMumsnet, EmmaMumsnet, JustineBMumsnet (not that one), and RebeccaEMumsnet.

We have been able to test few things off site and kids have loved it. They loved the Digby dragon pack. Love to test more stuff for kids like toys and clothes and maybe food and drink. I love product testing so anything I'll be happy with. Already signed up and follow on Twitter too :)

teddygirlonce · 21/12/2016 13:13

Not really chosen to test anything this year and found the product-tests leaned heavily towards families with babies/toddlers, whereas I'd like to see those off-set with more for families with tweens and teens

More product tests for mums rather than the children specifically.

Liked the look of the large white goods product tests although we weren't lucky enough to be picked to try them.

M&S - would really love to be involved in some product-trial/panel with them - they SO need Mumsnetters' help!

More family film/experience product trials (such as the Harry Potter World one).

Holiday experiences - glamping/Centre Parc/

Yes to heated airer - wouldn't ever use a tumble-dryer (on eco grounds) but - basically things that make family life easier!

lottietiger · 21/12/2016 14:03

I'd love to test kids bicycles, technology, and days out. For me I'd love to try a super large washer or tumble dryer.

lottietiger · 21/12/2016 14:04

Oh yes and self catering holidays such as Haven parks or National trust cottages :)

ImBrian · 21/12/2016 15:47

I got to test the Samsung washing machine which has been amazing. Next year I would love to test the dryer or a Hoover.

elizaco · 21/12/2016 15:57

I've been lucky enough to have been chosen to read and review quite a few books throughout the year with the Mumsnet book club - thank you! Would love to have chance to review food/drink items, or even try out restaurants!

cgraves · 21/12/2016 16:01

I have lived taking part in baby products and it would be great to take part in baby books

Olinguito · 21/12/2016 16:08

I've enjoyed a film preview - would love more of those to attend (or theatre previews?) Also anything edible, small gadgets and household products would be good to try.

puglife · 21/12/2016 16:12

I would love to review a tumble drier. (Nothing to do with the fact ours has just died!)

I've really enjoyed being part of product testing. I'm currently watching my 6 year old playing on the tablet we're reviewing!

StickChildNumberTwo · 21/12/2016 16:18

Always happy to test food! Books too, and things I can get the kids involved in.

TheDailyWail · 21/12/2016 16:21

I would really like to test kitchen gadgets like a stand mixer, a real life fully stacking set of plastic storage boxes and a vacuum cleaner. Gawd, I'm sad!!

Ibelieve123 · 21/12/2016 16:25

I really loved (as was massively jealous ) of the tester that got to try out the Harry potter tour. I would love to win a chance to do something like that with my children.
& yes I've joined the panel Smile

Mcstriving4leanie · 21/12/2016 16:54

Hi there. More of the same would be good. Household gadgets and appliances, family friendly tests, theme parks, holidays, food, cars, anything Harry Potter related, family days out. We have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the insight panel and love testing everything you come up with. Merry Christmas to all at MNHQ 🎄🍷

Flapdoodles · 21/12/2016 18:03

My DD is really enjoying testing the tablet but my personal favourite was the bin bags. I think Mumsnet has a great choice of products to test but I would like to see more family tests such as days out/theme parks.

Thank you to all at MNHQ and Merry Christmas.

Maiyakat · 21/12/2016 18:06

I've done various surveys and threads, and a couple of product tests, still hoping for a 'big' one! My only comment is the number of emails repeatedly telling me about the same surveys can get quite annoying, could it be limited to one a week please?

FourEyesGood · 21/12/2016 18:10

I'd love to product test a new car... or a vacuum cleaner. Or any beauty products. Or a book. Or anything, really! I've been involved in lots of surveys but have never got involved in the product testing. The only time I've signed up for it was for that Vtech watch, and the trial never happened.

LadyFuchsiaGroan · 21/12/2016 18:30

We loved testing the kids tablets and I have enjoyed reading most of the feedback threads.

If I could product test anything next year I would like to try a mattress!

CancellyMcChequeface · 21/12/2016 18:32

I always enjoy the surveys - I like giving my opinion on things! I was particularly pleased with the Brexit project and very happy to see a comment of mine make it into the report.

I'd love to be a tester/reviewer for books, stationery, wine and chocolates (I can dream! Grin )

Thirdload · 21/12/2016 19:53

I did the Toujours nappy test earlier this year. I like trying out different nappies to find the best ones to avoid leaks. This must have been the second or third nappy test I've done.

Next year I'd love to try out a toddler bed as DC2 grows up.

FlouncingInAWinterWonderland · 21/12/2016 19:55

I've done a lot of surveys this year and went along with all three DC to Angry Birds at Manchester. I've enjoyed some of the Lidl foody threads as a bit of a Lidl fan and its got me trying one or two new things that I may not have spoted on my normal blitz the shoping routine.

I'd volunteer to test and feedback on a Moduloft extension, a dyson hairdryer (I'd test the vacuums but already have them), British alcohol, a luxury spa day or even better stay away would be rather nice, I'd love to go to a real jelly bean factory and see how they're made, like wise I'd like to live a day alongside an M&S or waitrose food taster. I'd try just about any food or restaurant if accessible in the North West.

Lisasm21 · 21/12/2016 20:14

I would love to test kids clothes or toys. My favourite test was the Lidl nappies which have converted me over from other brands for good

Cineraria · 21/12/2016 21:02

I am so pleased I got to test the Pitrock deodorant. I'm completely sold on it and have been telling everyone how good it is.

We tested Sterimar too. Less enjoyable and I mentioned in my feedback that DS got quite distressed about it. He had another cold recently and was fine with it though, so that ended well too. I thought I should mention it.

SmileyShazza · 21/12/2016 21:23

As a family we have loved being part of the Cadbury Panel on here - I think DS and DD especially enjoyed using the chocolate buttons we received to test as they loved baking cakes with them.

I'm happy to test most items - beauty / household products would be nice or family days out at lesser known places. Anything that would help DS (aged 6) with his reading or writing or toys for DD would be fab too.

I've also retweeted on Twitter :)

Spirael · 21/12/2016 21:41

I am already on the panel, does that count for C? :)

I've tested a few little things this year... Chocolate, sauces, wipes, etc. They've been quite interesting, although perhaps not exciting!

I'd love to put some appliances through their paces - particularly anything that saves time. With two DC and both adults working 40+ hour weeks, there is never, ever enough time!!

LittleBird2012 · 21/12/2016 22:07

I have enjoyed reading the reviews, I know its a personal thing but I would be really interested in a product test for a menstrual cup.
