Why are MR moving so slow they been on 14/15th Nov for days now

megan345 · 29/05/2025 21:10

Mummyof4children · 29/05/2025 20:37

That’s why I think we don’t get ours done because we keep calling they must put it on the system every time we call

they can’t sanction you for calling for an update if their system isn’t fit for purpose surely, they need an online portal similar to uc so you can check up on it, and/or a live chat to get updates x

i had a tribunal hearing in February this year, appealed last June, so around 8 months!
Not sure if it’s still the same waiting times now!
what’s your MR sd?
Mines 20/11, called today and apparently still on 15/11! The wait is killing me!

hey my scan date is 02/12 I called yesterday they said still on 15/11 aswell! I just hope it doesn’t have to get to the tribunal stage but have to be prepared. I’m still waiting for my daughters EP report and EHCP to come through that’s why I’m worried about it being a decline I have provided other proof like letters and autism report, camhs and the senco of the school has also said she’ll speak to them and tell them everything until we get the ehcp and ep report but I’m just so worried I feel so much doubt x

TashaxJ · 29/05/2025 21:30

I haven’t called a lot the first time I called was sometime after 9th this month and they told me it had gone to a decision maker on the 9th. This week I’ve called the most I called Tuesday, Today and I’m I calling tomorrow as mine should have been done by now I am seeing scan dates of 24/02 when I am still waiting from 08/01 xx

Kirstylou91 · 29/05/2025 21:32

I’ve called twice all in all just for an update as seen scan dates after mine get awarded
SD 17/2

Fingers crossed for you that it’s a positive outcome 🤞
i really don’t know which way it’s going to go for my son, he’s been declined so many times now because of age! This time we had a lot more evidence to support his needs so I really hope he gets awarded this time but I will keep fighting for him if not!
He is severely sight impaired (blind) GDD and has a rare genetic disorder that causes him to be high risk for cancer. He turned 2 in March. I have a 13year old with exactly the same conditions plus ASD and he receives HRC HRM. Its so disheartening when my youngest keeps getting declined x

cherrycherrypickin · 29/05/2025 21:44

Anyone worried that they won't discuss the outcome of your MR over the phone, don't be. They refused to tell me and I tried twice, but I've had a back payment in my account today so it's obviously been accepted.

i can’t believe he’s been declined! its so gutting isn’t it because all we want is what our children deserve its shocking I really hope you get awarded! He’s 10000% entitled to it and it’s sad these DM’s making a decision from just reading of paper and not actually putting themselves in this position and think how this condition can affect a child’s life from day to day. Please update me, I’ll put updates too. I’m actually lost for words. It is really disheartening x

s39 · 29/05/2025 21:50

@PositivityRipples what is your MR SD? x

did your claim get declined before? Or did you get accepted but MR because you’re entitled to the higher rates?x

it’s a shame the decision makers can’t come and spend a day/night with us, to see what it’s really like and just how much care our kids need!
the system has changed so much in 13years!
Thankyou, I’m not ringing again until Monday but will update on here when I do! x

Mummyof4children · 29/05/2025 22:32

Fingers crossed for me and all of you waiting hope we all hear something soon x

XiCi · 29/05/2025 22:36

Thank you everyone for keeping me company on this stressful journey. MR SD 15/11. I've just checked my bank account and there is a big backpayment pending from dla so must have been accepted. I just wanted to say to anyone that has their claim declined, don't give up and keep on fighting for your child. When my renewal was declined I almost didn't have the energy to appeal, it's so stressful. Just keep on going. Good luck to everyone waiting.

@Katiie13x Thank you for the reply I can not believe they are still on November for MR 🤦🏻‍♀️
@s39 My MR scan date wasn't that long ago think it's 4th April so I have a long wait ahead.. Which is why I haven't been on here for the last two months and will probably go off again now for a couple months.. I'm sending some additional evidence off tomorrow which is why I popped on here to just check what date MR they are on.. Thought they may have caught up the backlog abit but seems they definitely haven't 💫

Yes it’s actually shocking they working so slow they are saying 25 weeks but by the looks of it everyone recently has waited past 25 weeks!

megan345 · 30/05/2025 00:02

just hit 26 weeks today for my coc! i think MR’s and COC are running about the same time x

Getting NCs done in 15-18 weeks and have MRs COC waiting 25 plus weeks! seems abit unfair especially when they sending letters out to everyone saying 15 weeks!!

definitely! i just can’t see how they got so backlogged, especially as when i was 15 weeks they were running at 23-25 weeks for coc’s and now i hit 25 weeks its jumped to 27 weeks +🤣 hopefully have an answer soon, also they’re quite slack in the fact that this time round i’ve not received a single letter or text to even acknowledge they have my claim form x

s39 · 30/05/2025 06:38

Good luck everyone let’s hope there lots of positive outcome to end May x

DD was getting MRC but I did MR as I knew she was entitled to HRC. I haven't had the letter through so I'm not sure if they have added LRM too, but I'm not too bothered about that

can i ask what evidence of night needs you sent? i’m 26 weeks into my coc and panicking🤣x

cherrycherrypickin · 30/05/2025 07:18

Almost nothing. She is home educated and we don't have drs reports or anything as she refuses to cooperate. I sent evidence of emails that I had been having with one of her home education group leaders plus a sleep diary. I was fully expecting it to go to tribunal due to my lack of evidence though.

Edited

thank you very much! i sent a report from OT which basically said all his needs but its very ‘mum said…’ so unsure how they’ll perceive that, then i sent a sleep diary and a paeds report which listed sleep difficulties, just hoping we have enough x
