Hi my scan date is 11/02 I rung today a lady said it was taking up to 25 weeks and to call back in august. I asked if we was in a queue and she said no we were assigned to a name? Someone was dealing with my daughter’s case. So does this mean decision maker? My daughter has a diagnosis for autism so I am hoping it will be straight forward and quick.

I’m 02/12 and I got told I’d have a decision the Tuesday just gone I rang to get it escalated they told me there on dates 15/12 and still another 2-3 weeks plus 😩! x

(Did you mean 15/11?) That's what I thought, a few extra weeks so more like 28 weeks! Is yours a MR too then?
We just waited 6 months and got turned down for an extra bedroom with the HA as they want an assessment with social care, which they could have told us at the beginning. It’s so difficult because we have no idea what we’re doing, just trying our best. So all this waiting is so frustrating when you don’t know if you’ve done enough. Fingers crossed you get an answer soon x

Hey sorry my brain is scrambled from all this yep 15/11 I meant haha! I got granted an extra bedroom for my daughter recently in my borough the occupational therapist waiting list is so long I provided a letter from CAMHS and paediatrics saying she can’t share with her sibling due to unable to emotionally regulate and her being a risk to her sister and that really helped and after fighting going back and fourth also with the local MP we got given it if you have any of this maybe try! I was so close to giving up x

That’s really helpful thanks so much! I’ve spoken to social care who are looking into getting him an OT assessment, and I’ve written to the paediatrician. It’s all just more waiting! Was CAMHS helpful for you, I’ve heard mixed things x

Congratulations hun you finally got a decision glad you got it changed to hrc shame bout the mobility part are you going to do MR straight away or wait? X

Definitely going to do MR I sent then such a long personal statement about going out with my son meltdowns anxiety ect and they've basically just ignored all that and seen that he goes in a sensory walk in school a 2 minute walk to see the fish when he is mentally able to, he doesnt go to see the fish if hes having a hard day with meltdowns and they've basically said oh he can walk. And also said due to a report from eating disorder team ARFID that because he is now not under weight that there's no physical reason for him. I just don't think these are acceptable reasons for decline. I think they have just tried to find that tiny loophole. His eating disorder certainly doesn't have anything to do with a reason for decline surely.

Congrats , did u send in much evidence

So full autism and ADHD diagnosis report- this includes a SALT and OT assessment, school support plan and letter from school. Happy with that for all her other difficulties she sleeps well and now she's older (11) awareness of risks out and about is better (like not perfect and not like a non autistic 11 year old but not to a HRM level and not like when she was younger.

ByChirpy · 29/05/2025 13:30

Does anyone know roughly timeliness for how long UC takes to verify and send to decision maker for back pay to receiving a decision?

Definitely contact your local mp because that’s what helped me and escalated it with the evidence too, CAMHS was really helpful I found my daughter has really bad anxiety along with her autism so when she did go to CAMHS in the morning once a week it got her ready for school she would go in so happy and couldn’t wait to go back it was more play therapy for her. Also CAMHS helped me with her referrals and they can write letters for you our referrals kept being rejected but with a report from CAMHS that had really helped x

It’s ridiculous, first 12 week wait, then 15, 25 and now 27-28! x

Sorry to jump on your post but is 2 weeks the average wait time for the back pay then? I notified UC of DLA award and they paid me the difference for May (with disabled child element) but when I asked about back pay she said it had gone to a decision maker? Doesn’t make sense as it must have had to go to a decision maker to authorise the may payment! I’m confused

Oh my goodness I'm actually fed up of waiting for everything I don't know why everything has to be such a battle without sounding inpatient 🤣 I've only just changed my UC 2days ago but waited near 29 weeks for a decision from dla and now doing an Mr also which is another 25 week wait x

Mummyof4children · 29/05/2025 16:04

NC SD 06/02 still waiting and all feb dates after mine have been awarded how is this fair

TashaxJ · 29/05/2025 16:16

It’s very unfair I’ve seen so many end of Feb dates awarded. The system is not right xx

TashaxJ · 29/05/2025 16:48

I’m still yet to hear anything even after the woman said she would email the decision maker this morning as he’s had my claim since 02/05. I’m hoping tomorrow as it’ll be the weekend then won’t it so will have to wait until next week xx
