Yes that's right. It won't affect a back payment from DLA, but if you are due a back payment from UC they will deduct it from the transitional protection first pound for pound.

So my transitional protection is £154 so would they take £154 from every month or just once?

That’s fast my scan date is 27/1 and still with a case manager

I know really fast. I was going to give it a few more weeks before I called to check on the progress. I suppose it depends whose desk it ends up on. Hopefully it’s not much longer for you.

I received a letter in the post about 5 weeks after I sent the claim in.

I posted my form tracked 14th Feb got scanned through 17th Feb received a letter last week of March to say they’ve got the form and it will be 29 weeks from the scan date
I also received another letter 7th April stating sorry I’ve not had a decision yet but there working on the claim and it takes 15 weeks so I rang today lady said it’s 20 weeks now from scan date

Lmtab · 19/05/2025 17:08

N/C sd- 22/01 decision maker has contacted my child’s school and a note on my claim just says ‘awaiting call back from school’

I can’t see the SENDCO sitting on hold for 45 minutes. School are notoriously slow at everything.

i feel so fed up like this is going to drag things on for even longer. I sent his ASD diagnosis report as extra evidence a week ago which has lots of evidence off the school on it so hope that helps- does anyone think they could award the claim based off new evidence without having to contact school?

Not bad considering they were on 8/11 scan dates last Thursday!
fingers crossed you hear Friday!
im 20/11, hopefully next week week for me but as you said, ill take that with a pinch of salt!

It's difficult to explain, but basically it depends how much you are owed in back pay and over how many months. It probably will work out as you being owed more than £154 a month so they will reduce your transactional protection to zero each month and you won't be entitled to any back pay from UC. You'll get an increase in the child element though still, it only affects the back pay.

COC forms are taking 25 weeks plus but I’m not sure if applying for mobility would be the same wait times? I haven’t seen anyone on here waiting for just mobility for a while to see how long they’ve waited.

Thankyou I’m sure it’ll be the same wait I’ve sent them today x

We were awarded last year for HRC and LRM but trying to fight for the HRM due to her being a risk out in public , no danger awareness and needs to be restrained on a daily basis. So even if we have to go through tribunal it is what it is but I’m going to carry on fighting as I know what she’s entitled to x

Yes, absolutely right! I hope you get it asap.

It’s not bad the catch ups but going over the 25 weeks is just mentally exhausting! Finger crossed for you to will update when I have my answer to give you a rough idea!

Good morning everyone,

First time posting but have been watching for a while.
Nc scan date 16.01 for my 3 year old son.
Got a payment at 12am from dla.
No text received and hadn't called for an update except a couple of weeks back to check new evidence received so was a nice surprise as I checked all the time 🤣

Good luck to all ❤️

Edited

Wow that’s quick , congrats , did I send in much evidence my scan date is 17th Feb 2025

Craftilyhopeful · 19/05/2025 20:22

New claim
scan date 17th Feb 2025
called today as received a letter stating there dealing with my sons claim and will take upto 15 weeks, lady on the phone stated it’s 20 weeks from scan date, so by that info 7th july 2025

I've seen some Feb going through. You're nearly there:)

MrsMAFs · 19/05/2025 20:55

Submitted NC two weeks ago.

Received text message today to say it has been received and will make a decision within 25 weeks.

New to all this, would today be classed as my scan date? Does everyone get a journal and how do you get access?

Does anyone know if it’s standard for them to contact school? My son only started 3 weeks ago and I’m worried if they contact them they won’t be able to provide enough information? I’ve provided evidence from various health professionals, a statement from our family support worker and a short letter from his daycare setting but do they need more from education?

I don’t know. I provided his EHCP and educational psychologist report which both had info from the school included so I thought we would be okay but they have contacted school.

The waiting and being told different things everytime you phone is a head messer!! I hope you get a decision soon. Be keeping my fingers crossed for you x @Tashaxj
