DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 61

Hey! Thought I'd make a new thread as previous one very close to being full!

These threads have been a big help whilst waiting for the outcome of our application. Sure they help everyone else too! It's stressful!

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.

New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?

Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.

Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.

If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)

Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.

If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

DLA contact number is 0800 121 4600

Limited capability for work and work related activities.
its LCWRA, sorry for my miss typing🤦🏽‍♀️

Now I know why I don't get the cararers element on us it's because I get lcwra myself. Nobody explained just told me I wasn't entitled to it.

My SD is 29/07 and was not with DM on Wednesday. I have just seen they have moved wait times to 31 weeks on Facebook 🥺

Chaz693 · 10/01/2025 15:37

COC SD 30/7 and still not heard anything. Haven't called up because haven't had the time and also don't want to be told it's still not been looked at. Keep hoping i will just wake up to the back payment but also aware that I'm I've got at least another 2 weeks till I hit 25 weeks! Can't remember if his renewal is this year or next at this point need to find the paperwork to check.

When I rang they told me to wait as it was probably going to 30 weeks

22/08 NC. I had been on hold for 1 hour and 5 mins, but the lovely lady told me my DS has been awarded HRC and LRM until 2028. Over the moon

Shorty180 · 10/01/2025 16:34

Hey everyone, I read somewhere today that without a diagnosis the maximum award length is 2 years - is this true does anybody know? Thanks.

Lbl1992 · 10/01/2025 16:40

🌈 Positive post 🌈

Rang for forms 10th July
Received 20th August

Think I’ve rang for an update 5/6 times since 29th dec including yesterday and told no update not with a dm. Rang this morning and decision was made yesterday, awarded mrc lrm until 2030. Back payment due Tuesday. 20 weeks 2 days wait in total . Good luck to those who are still waiting 🖤

Mine is 29/07 and as of Wednesday it was not with a DM, it was emailed to be allocated on the 20/12 but still not been done. People are being told 30 weeks + today 🥺 good luck! 🤞🏼

Chaz693 · 10/01/2025 16:42

@StEpH3020 thank you! I think if I get to 25 weeks with nothing I'll have to call. The way there going I'll give birth to this next child before I hear from them 😂 x

Honestly, not sure how they can tell some people 30 weeks and on the other hand, award people with SD in Oct 🥺

JW070116 · 10/01/2025 16:53

Congratulations on all the awards today, 🥳🥳 looks like it's picking up after last week, loads on FB too, hopefully they will get the time frames down so the wait isn't so awful 🤞🤞🤞

StEpH3020 · 10/01/2025 17:00

@Chaz693 I was told I was “only” 22 weeks on the phone when I am 23 weeks, so when you ring make sure they have the right week 🤞🏼
Good luck, I hope you get an answer before you give birth 🤞🏼

Sabah95 · 10/01/2025 17:01

thank you x

report a change and select the child. Then you would need to put a note in the journal stating you want backpay from X day. Hope that helps

zoeybrooks45 · 10/01/2025 17:21
