Hey! Thought I'd make a new thread as previous one very close to being full!

These threads have been a big help whilst waiting for the outcome of our application. Sure they help everyone else too! It's stressful!

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.

New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?

Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.

Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.

If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)

Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.

If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

DLA contact number is 0800 121 4600

on the letter you received on the 18th, it should state we received your application on such and such date. That date there will be your scan date x

Found the letters, easier than I thought it would be!
So SD was 1/11/2024, got that conformation letter on 12th nov, which means I'm about 10 weeks in. Its a NC so should be about a 20 week wait from what I've read?
Received 2nd letter 19th Dec saying sorry they haven't given me a decision yet and that it cpuld take up to 15 weeks but I'm ignoring that now, I presume they write that on all letters even if they have a backlog and longer wait times.

Called this morning as we have moved house since sending in the forms, I told them my new address when we moved in to the new house but there was a month where we were staying with family while the sale went through, it occurred to me this morning that if they requested any extra evidence then I could have missed the letter (although they didn’t mention anything when I changed my address) so called to check while also hoping for a positive update. I was told it’s not with a DM yet and it won’t go to one until 25 weeks which I’m hoping isn’t true. So disappointing!

Does anyone know the way they deal with complaints? I rung up to make a complaint, and the gentleman said he would send the complaint off to the complaints department but he didn’t know how they would respond as they have there own ways of dealing with things.

Congrats to all who have been awarded today 😊. Anyone with a NC with SD 14/08 or before still waiting?

my scan date was the same as yours and I had payment paid today, fingers crossed yours is following 🤞 xx

MC started/scan date 9th August

Any one had any update from around that time?

I called 3rd Jan still to be told not a change

Was the new claim?

I have mandatory reconsideration 09/08 and still nothing

My MR 09/08 I called 3rd Jan as due payment 14th hoping for update still to be told 25 weeks min

I never receive any comma at all! And I see on this post people get texts and letter. I get a letter once awarded. Heard nothing since MR 9/08. I'm on wk22 tomorrow. Considering calling to check again. I feel it's been lost !

No, mine was a MR as was the one with 22/08 scan date

So your mandatory reconsideration was scanned 22/08 and u have had decision? I'm 9/08 and have heard nothing?

Ahh congrats same date as me. I have been told mine is with DM so I am hoping it won’t be long now. Anxiety through the roof. Glad the wait is over for you

They don’t care do they. My son hasn’t been in at all but they have called to check only because just before they broke up I informed his plan co that my son is absent for weeks at a time and not once have school called to see if he’s ok so I know it’s only due to the fact I’ve made some noise. I’m disappointed for you that you’ve not heard yet. Did you call today?

Ahh made up for you. I spoke to nice guy Phil about 10.15 this morning and as I said he says it with the DM and I am down for text and when I receive one to ring through to option 4 to find out rates. I shall just have to wait and see. It’s agonising though

It’s frustrating I know, but there was a lady I think it was @PositivityRipples on here that knows a DM and explained that claims may go out of date order depending on circumstances and health conditions for example.

They might be working on a 04/08 claim, but require more info from the claimant so then pick the next one off the pile while they wait for the info to come in if that’s makes sense and some claims are more straight forward than others. Mine is 22/08 NC. I have been told it’s with a DM but will just have to wait and see. We are getting a bit anxious. Hope you hear soon

Called to add a note about a CAMHS referral the senco made in December that I completely forgot about as my heads been up my backside 🤣 the woman didn't say anything so assuming it's still in "the" queue 🫣😂 school doesn't even bother to call, it was only by chance the head was there when I took the others in, she overheard me telling reception, I then informed her of my 9 year olds plan of 3 days a week in school 2 day home school until end of year 6 and then her plan to be completely home schooled from year 7 - the head looked shocked and asked who's idea was it and I told her it was my daughters, she's a bit to clever and sassy for her own good 🤣🤣

NC SD 28/08 second time I've called this week to be told the exact same thing call back if not heard nothing by 19th Feb.
