Hey! Thought I'd make a new thread as previous one very close to being full!

These threads have been a big help whilst waiting for the outcome of our application. Sure they help everyone else too! It's stressful!

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.

New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?

Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.

Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.

If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)

Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.

If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

For those asking about renewals - ours was due to end at the end of November. Put the forms in in August and it was done early November. Took 13 weeks in all but we were applying for mobility for the first time and it was all sorted by the end date.

Ahhhh it's been over 24 hours since I rang 😭 I want to ring again but I don't have an excuse 🤣🤣🤣

I think this happened to me.
Awarded 2022 till March 2024.
I missed the renewal (thought it was 3 years like my PIP and didn’t receive any forms!), so was then treated as a new claim.
SD - 16/4
I rang to explained hardship end of July/beginning of August and had it rushed through.
Declined - 9/8

Now waiting for a MR - SD 5/9.
I’ve sent so much more evidence since and in my original MR request I listed their reasons and numbered where they’d find the evidence to prove them wrong because it seemed they missed a lot.

Just hoping when it’s our turn, it’s a yes because mentally I’m done with it.

@TippieTappyTara i wouldn't send anything that doesn't support your claim so i wouldn't send a EHCP decline if the psychology report supports your claim then just send that if it doesn't don't send 🙌

Does anyone know if gne phone lines are working again?

Is anyone else having trouble getting through I’ve tried calling dla since 2:30 and it’s saying the services are temporarily unavailable 😩

I've not tried yet as I've seen posts saying lines are down since this morning on here and FB x

I called at 10:30 I was on hold for 45 minutes then it cut off so I called back at 2:30 and it’s still not working says check back in a hour! What a joke x

I usually call on a Monday so didn’t ring today!

Has anyone applied for DLA before for a child with Juvenile idiopathic Arthritis? Or do you know anyone who has?

If so, how did you get on? Were you accepted?

My daughter has jia and gets dla although she also has autism global development delay among other things and uses a wheelchair due to loss of sensation in her legs/feet and daily swelling (not due to jia)

Hi, I requested forms on the 1st September, sent back recorded delivery on the 30th September.
Received a letter dated 18th November stating they are dealing with a claim regarding daughter.
When is the scan date, from The 1st, 30th, or the 18th November. Just so I know when track from. X
