Hey! Thought I'd make a new thread as previous one very close to being full!

These threads have been a big help whilst waiting for the outcome of our application. Sure they help everyone else too! It's stressful!

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.

New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?

Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.

Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.

If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)

Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.

If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I’ve found that there isn’t a lot of support for when it comes to JIA and applying for DLA.

No there really isnt. My daughter was diagnosed at 6 shes 12 now and there is hardly any support at all

You scan date would be the 30/09 as that’s when it was scanned on to the system. If you are awarded then you be backdated pay from the 1/09. Claims are taking around 20-25 weeks for a decision. Hope that helps.

Long one so..decision maker rang me on the 31/12 to ask a few questions and was awful, she gave me until 13th to get extra evidence in.
today I sent salt report and her most recent ehcp but I am still waiting for a man updated draft from LA. Sent these recorded delivery. They are still at Royal Mail obviously. Checked my bank and I have £2400 from DLA going in tomorrow. I’m confused as to why and what’s happened..

Scan date 16/08, I've been fine but the past few days, the anxiety is kicking in. I'm too nervous to call, in case it's declined!

Claiming for my lovely 13 year old son, he's got ASD, diagnosed last April.

I need to get me one of these banks where you can see pending payments IN not just going out.

I checked my other bank account and it's there! Still not sure what levels but for £1980ish which it it was around 20 weeks would be approx £100 per week. Not sure what that equates to. Tbh I was only expecting LRC if anything (almost expected to be turned down). DS is 9 with ADHD, autism and situational mutism. Academically able but some communication and social needs. Very well behaved but can be impulsive and run into the road after a pigeon, will climb a massive tree with no understanding it's dangerous etc 🙈 He does need to be accompanied to clubs etc otherwise he gets too distracted. I'm in shock but very happy as we've paid for private therapies for so long which is expensive.

PS I know I can ring but it's difficult when at work all day and the letter will come at some point, right?!

24 weeks today coc
24th july the claim has been sorted and raised to hrc
So relieved to finally have a decision now to wait for my others son whose was sent the same day

Money just went in the bank today. Last week I escalated it due to how long it was taking

SD 12/11/24 recieved the letter yesterday sorry it's taking so long 😐

ive seen over on Facebook end of July/ beginning of August having their decisions for mr so hopefully not too much longer for you

iv phoned 3 times and each time been told something different! Twice it’s with a DM and now twice it’s not with a DM!! which one is it 😂 it’s so frustrating just not knowing

Same SD. I was never told it was with a DM 🤣 I’m calling every day just to hear those words 🤣🤣🤣

Same SD here too! I have avoided phoning for fear of bad news but I am so anxious now!

called Monday - no update! We are 20 weeks tomorrow and had not gone to DM last time I called!! Avoiding calling because I’m getting so anxious about it! I just want what’s right for my girl. I can’t even purchase the sensory equipment she needs because I can’t afford it right now….good luck to everyone today!

COC scan date 2/8 still not with DM

Same scan date as me for NC. I feel exactly the same. I hope you hear soon
