Hey! Thought I'd make a new thread as previous one very close to being full!

These threads have been a big help whilst waiting for the outcome of our application. Sure they help everyone else too! It's stressful!

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.

New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?

Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.

Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.

If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)

Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.

If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

forms requested 24 July. Recieved 23.08. And been awarded! on Facebook hun. Like I said I seen the 26.08 awarded Friday as well Xx

So happy they got their award but makes it more frustrating for us who had a SD earlier x

Please can I ask why does the DLA FB group never accept my request, the one that is private that is? Is it because I don’t have a display picture on 🤣 anyways anyone with 22.08 been done yet? Thanks ☺️

He rolled off 4 other pieces in December and I was like, any received today🤔 and he said oh yes it was scanned on today 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm just dumbfounded by them sometimes 😂 but at least he was polite, clueless but polite 🤣

Hey I get this I haven’t had even one accepted they say that it’s common questions in the files on the group. I don’t post anymore. If you asking for dates around that time they decline stating it’s 20-25 weeks and won’t post it.
I hate the group to be honest x

Oh gosh I’ve requested about 20 times I won’t bother now 😭 going to be 20 weeks on Thursday I will just wait it out thank you for your reply

As I stated above I have seen the 23.08 and the 26.08 get awarded, but many still waiting earlier then this. It so frustrating for them seeing others awarded after their dates x

i called this morning and lady told me a decision has been made today!

I was told I have to wait for a letter, Iv not received any text. Does this mean it’s most likely been turned down.

Well I got a nice lady. She was like you are aware the least amount of time is 20 weeks now longest 25. I said yes but I would like to know when it’s with a decision maker and I will keep ringing until it is, as you state it can take 5 weeks with one. She said no that’s fair enough but no it’s not with one yet it’s still on holding que. I said I’ll ring in a few days then. She laughed.

Yes I’ve been turn down because of no DP. Tbh I prefer here as the DLA Facebook group is very military and controlling in what can be posted 🤣. Hopefully you don’t have long left.

MR - SD 17/10/2024 ... called for update was told 25 weeks so roughly 2nd week of April. (Last time I spoke it was an 18 week wait so extra 7 weeks added) 😔

It’s always 2weeks on either side of dates that are being done in the same time us. I am 20/08 but I know they are looking at the while of August even probably first week September.

So even if they say it’s not with a decision maker it probably been looked at then? Even tho mine the end of august? Is that what you mean? X

Thank you, I hate speaking to people on the phone but I did call back Iv been awarded middle rate. Spoke to lovely man he said it was awarded Friday not today like previously told.
my son has suspected asd had no evidence other then a referral had been made to provide. Just my own statement on his violent outbursts.

Decision makers are assigned a caseload of claims and then work through them. Some work faster than others, or do the straight forward claims first which is why some dates are awarded after yours. It’s hard to determine whether your claim is with a DM. But if it is in August it’s highly likely it’s been assigned but not been opened or looked at yet. Call handlers don’t like to tell people whether it’s with DM anymore as people will call more often. Even if it’s been looked at it can still take a further two weeks. All call handlers are just being told to say the same script to free up the lines and giving inaccurate information to prevent you from calling. Hopefully it’s not too long left xx

Thank you hun.. I thought mine was pretty straightforward, so hoping soon now. I have asd diagnosis with hard communication, processing needs, and high sensory. Sent asd report, ipcs, and ehpc draft, speech and language, senco letter to back up he is what I say at home in school as well and all the extra they do for him. He hardly sleeps which reflects in school. He lays in middle of road he is 10, school back this up as well as he does this in school in playground extra and won’t come In even in pouring rain if something upsets him. He can’t go anywhere without an adult, not even local park. He is a twin so I can compare the needs and I reflected that in my form. Just hope I did enough and enough evidence. Else I’m doing mr xxx

I rang today- scan date 13/08 told 30/12 with DM.
the man said the same- his words were your form is literally with a dm, and looking at documents. How would you take this? Can the call handler tell when a dm has the case open and working on it?
said call back in 1 - 2 weeks, you will get a text blah blah blah.

After being on hold for 46mins I finally got through the lady seemed really nice and checked what was happening with claim and said with decision maker SD 28/8 if I believe them is a different story as seeing a lot on here saying they have lied does anyone have rough time claims are with decision maker ?

Could be a day. Could be 2 weeks depends if they contact people. Im 28.8 and was told it’s still in queue lol x
