Hey! Thought I'd make a new thread as previous one very close to being full!

These threads have been a big help whilst waiting for the outcome of our application. Sure they help everyone else too! It's stressful!

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.

New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?

Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.

Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.

If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)

Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.

If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

He was awful. Before I managed to convince him to even look at the claim he said call us back on 11th feb and we will check then

I've found a few are just not nice, I tend to let them read their speech, hang up and call to speak yo someone nice 😂. They definitely need to sort out the training of the call handlers some of them are just so rude

I’m not even convinced what he told me was true, but if I phone back now and someone else is snotty I think I’ll completely lose it 😂 why would they even want his birth certificate

They do often request birth certificates. I sent mine with the claim just to avoid this happening.

It’s normally children under the age of 5 because apparently it’s harder to verify them. That’s what a call handler told me.

When we call do the call handlers leave notes in the file to say we have called up?

I have read on this thread before they do as one call handler said you only called yesterday 😂😂😂
this didn’t stop them ringing tho. They were waiting nearly a year as mr and just kept ringing didn’t care anymore 🤪

Oh i genuinely don’t call how many times I call now if they can change the goal post but not update the letters then I’ll call to my hearts content 😂

That's where I'm at, currently on hold to see if new evidence has been received, only phoned Friday 🤣

If you get the same fella as me your in for an argument before he tells you

OMG I think I will be asking to speak to a manager if he says that to me 😳 that is so rude

I just say yes and you state it can take up to 4-5 weeks when it reaches a decision maker so I would like to know if it’s with a decision maker yet. You are paid to answer phone calls and people are in there rights to know the progress of the claim when you state in writing its 15 weeks, writing is more of a document then word of mouth, so please refrain for speaking to me like this and just answer my questions as you are paid to do. Thank you.

its hard enough doing the initial dla so I can’t imagine what it’s like doing a MR and doing this all over again don’t think I’ve got it in me

just spoke to dla on the phone my scan date is 21.8 and she advised me that it’s taking up to 25 weeks is that correct

Apparently, some are being awarded from 18 weeks on so it’s literally a waiting game. I’m 20.8 scan date and no award yet

Hey yes, it passed two weeks before Xmas dms asked for it to be extended 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Yeah 28.8 and saw 26.08 get awarded on Friday mine isn’t even with a dm yet and some still early August waiting it just don’t make sense. I seen 21.08 done with no special circumstances England, like 5 weeks ago. It’s not done in order at all.

Good for you, i just spoke to someone to confirm my evidence was received. He actually asked me if I wanted an update 😳😂 the n read the script of 25 weeks blah blah

What SD are you? There’s no consistency to them at all and every call handler says something different. I’m going to make a point when they call to say that because if they was more honest then people wouldn’t call so much.

it’s with a decision maker, ok great, then you call up a week later and not even been assigned to a decision maker yet and sat in a queue, so who’s lying and who’s telling the truth lol
