I really think you’ve got very good grounds for HRC at the least. There’s clearly more supervision required for your daughter than there is for example my 6 year old. I know the feeling, it’s the not knowing too and waiting for a decision. It’s always seemed unfair that we have to try and capture however many years old our children are in to a few sheets of paper and they get to make a decision based off that. Would be so much better if they could spend a day observing the children instead. MR wait times would definitely drop then!

Thank you for being so kind. I hope you’re holding up ok. Exactly. They probably hope that people won’t bother with an MR. But people rightly fight for their children x

It's really taking every ounce of will power not to call today. I really need to get a grip

Without a doubt. I won't be able to sweat it over the weekend 🤣🤣 I just want them to put an overtime incentive out. That's what they do in my work and everyone gets their booty in 🤣🤣

I think sen parents or parents of children with additional needs should be decison makers. We would all be on the ball and actually understand what the other parents mean and phone a parent instead of the massive forms 🤣❤️

Yes! They probably haven’t even heard of half the conditions let alone know how they impact day to day life 😳

You’re most welcome. I honestly think it is only a parent with a SEN child that can truly understand the impact that is has on the child and the whole family too. I hope your reward reflects your daughter’s needs. I debated about doing an MR and sought advice to proceed, there is always the risk of the HRC being dropped so I did weigh that up too but none of us have a crystal ball and I would exhaust all avenues before I give up. I admire your patience, I would likely be calling them twice daily!

It really is. I was so relieved to see the teacher backed me up, but also felt so sad seeing it written down in black and white. Bless you! It’s been hard. I’ve just had to take a rennie as I’ve given myself heartburn getting anxious 🤣 x

ThisNoisyTurtle · 14/11/2024 15:42

Anyone seen any awards on FB for 08/07 SD yet? Feels like it's been a bit of a slow day...

I've seen 2. Also my sd but I called this morning and said I was sending extra evidence today to get there tomorrow and could they note that on the system so I'm actually hoping that mine isn't picked up until the new evidence is scanned in lol

ThisNoisyTurtle · 14/11/2024 16:03

OK, thank you @PollyH3 and @MumOf3LittleOnez 🙂I can now legitimately start checking my phone and bank account every 2 seconds now...not like I haven't been doing that for weeks already 😜

PollyH3 · 14/11/2024 16:14

I'll be calling tomorrow afternoon to check my evidence has been scanned on. I'll be 19 weeks on Monday so hopefully a decision will be made next week.

Anxiouslywaitingmum · 14/11/2024 16:48

Hello everyone. I was awarded for my son end of September. I work but also have a uc top up.
I applied for carers element which was processed pretty quickly.
I have asked for it to be back dated to my scan date of dla and it is with a decision maker but it's been about 5 weeks now.
Hoe long have any of you waited to hear back about back payment of carers element?

JY979797 · 14/11/2024 16:50

Anyone still waiting from 3/7 scan date?

RRlola6 · 14/11/2024 17:19

Sd 2.8
Quoted 15 weeks which is tomorrow.

I called today because my sons nursery are applying for extra funding for him, and required to know if DLA was applicable.

Helpful man on the phone. I told him that I'd read a million different things/reasons/excuses for the backlog and that the wait would be much more bearable if I just knew the worst case scenario for wait times.

He said most applications don't go to a DM until 20 weeks, and then they can take up to 2 weeks to decide, basically taking us to the new year.

To our benefit, I've got time to send in further evidence as we've had a diagnosis since applying.
