I caved and called. It’s not been scanned on yet but she’s left a note to say it’s expected today. She confirmed I requested a text, but who knows! I must admit, I’ve been lucky and always had lovely people answer x

PollyH3 · 14/11/2024 11:32

Called and asked her to make a note on the system that I'm sending extra evidence today. Hopefully will get there and scanned on before they look at my claim (8/7)

CoralSnake · 14/11/2024 11:33

S/D 1st august, still quite a wait by the looks of things

Lauren1491 · 14/11/2024 11:49

Hi, scan date 14/10 renewal,
Just thought I'd post to say for anyone waiting on renewals iv had a letter today awarding my daughter for the next 2 years. Paid £9 postage as claim was due to run out the beginning of December. Renewals must be quicker or done in a different area to new claims as first claim took 3 months. Good luck to everyone waiting.

Scan date 12/07. Been marked as urgent a week ago and phoned 3 times since then and nothing. They just say anything to get you off the phone. I am trying to hold off calling them today as I phoned yesterday and will phone tomorrow..

MissAnneF · 14/11/2024 11:55

Hi everyone coc scan date on 16/08. Daughter has ASD and ADHD. She already receives LRM and MRC however did a COC for the ADHD report and to add her EHCP which we've just been awarded. I have no idea if this will change to Higher rate care but we will see. 🙂 Hope you all get your answers soon x

Thecrazyone94 · 14/11/2024 12:22

I’m the 18/07 for MR. I worked it out around that time scale aswell. However the way it’s going it’ll probs be after Christmas. I’ve seen loads of people put in for an MR and get a decision after a week of waiting

A week!? 😳 I’ve been advised to hold on until early January which is absolutely insane. I’m not holding out any hope either despite the evidence I’ve sent. Currently on MRC so grateful to have something, but my son should be on HRC.

ThisHangryOpalEagle · 14/11/2024 13:05

Scan date 12/07 but meant to have been marked as urgent a week ago. Caved and phoned today and still no decision. I don't think I'm going to find out before the weekend at this rate. I can't do another weekend of this 😢

Yes, one even practically the same day. They sent it off, within 5 days had back pay🤦🏽‍♀️ I’ve been told 9th of jan, but I’ve noticed it’s roughly around the 20/21 week mark! my son was originally on MRC, did the coc and got HRC, then got his diagnosis November last year, so did another change of circumstance march this year, they extended his care award till 2032 and declined the mobility so doing an MR on the mobility under SMI

Miguelo · 14/11/2024 13:48

School have sent over the complete SNAP IV questionnaire, wondering if it’s worth sending along with the EP report when I get that.

on a positive we have her ADHD assessment next month now! Couldn’t wait any longer for NHS pathway. (Thanks dad! He’s loaned us the money for it 🤣)

Ive just been awarded HRC from MRC. The reason in the decision letter was the EHCP. She has undiagnosed ASD and ADHD but on the pathway, diagnosed dyslexia. I dont want to give you false hope but dont have no hope. It can happen 😊

Kc1999x · 14/11/2024 11:16

Any MRs from July been done. This wait is dreadful

Apparently not. I called today, the decision maker said they are working on 20th June scan dates.

SKB12 · 14/11/2024 14:11

Miguelo · 14/11/2024 09:38

We have been very lucky to be able to go private so the wait is reduced. (Thanks Dad!) my other DC are on the NHS pathway though. Have you heard of right to choose?

We considered it but I read that professionals were more reluctant to accept private diagnoses over nhs ones?

SKB12 · 14/11/2024 14:13

MrsW12 · 14/11/2024 09:46

If I am successful, will my back pay be from when I called for the forms? I printed my 11 year old ones out x

Hi, yes it’ll be back dated to when you requested the forms 🤗

Miguelo · 14/11/2024 14:14

SKB12 · 14/11/2024 14:11

Providing the provider can show they have followed NICE guidelines it should be accepted without issue. Our GP said they would recognise a diagnosis from a private provider but if we wanted them to take over prescribing I would have to choose one who also held an NHS contract.

I can’t see how the NHS could refute a diagnosis from a company they commission themselves to do assessments on their behalf. And like anything I’ll put up a good fight if they try. 🤣

MrsW12 · 14/11/2024 10:59

Aww thank you. The teacher wrote in her report that she works in small groups with staff when they are available, but has frequent check ins to make sure she’s safe and focused x

That certainly will help. My son worked in a pod along with 2 others at times when staff were free to supervise. It all builds up a picture. Rooting for you.

SKB12 · 14/11/2024 14:18

For those waiting on MR decisions. They are currently working on 20th June scan dates. Again said they are getting in extra staff to speed up the process. I’m fed up of hearing the same but can’t help myself from calling 🫣

Thank you so much. I know it sounds pathetic but my tummy feels a bit funny knowing it could possibly be being looked at now. They’ve definitely backed me up. She ticked the box saying she receives extra support, has no awareness of danger, needs help with dressing, can’t walk safely alone around the setting, and gave some examples. She mentioned that it’s normal for children of her age sometimes needing support to get dressed. But I’m sure they don’t all flood the toilets or wander off on their own if not supervised x

I really think you’ve got very good grounds for HRC at the least. There’s clearly more supervision required for your daughter than there is for example my 6 year old. I know the feeling, it’s the not knowing too and waiting for a decision. It’s always seemed unfair that we have to try and capture however many years old our children are in to a few sheets of paper and they get to make a decision based off that. Would be so much better if they could spend a day observing the children instead. MR wait times would definitely drop then!
