zoeybrooks45 · 13/11/2024 18:06

Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful times. 💐

New claims (NC) are taking ‘around’ 20 weeks.

Renewals between 15-20 weeks approx

scan date (SD) date form was scanned on the system and counting weeks for decision

original claim date: date you called up for the forms and you will be backdated

UC : universal credit
DWP: department of work and pensions
DM: decision maker; the person who assesses each claim and awards/decline a case

number for an update (0800) 121-4600

I’m at 18weeks for MR. I know I have another couple of weeks to go but I am so impatient

The wait is awful isn’t it?! And the more the weeks go on the more I’m getting impatient 😂 I just want to know if it’s yes or no so if no I can move onto the next steps, mines a new claim which they originally said 15 weeks but now it’s 20😣 wish they just gave us accurate waiting times

KingJoyce10 · 21/11/2024 10:47

Just off the phone to the DM, she said she had everything she needed to make a decision and submit it once we were off the phone 😬😬 The extra evidence I sent hasn’t been received but she took all the details on the phone instead. I’m sooo nervous I am sweating profusely 🤣 also asked if my bank details were correct, told me to wait for the letter but when can I ring to ask? No way can I wait for that letter to arrive to know lol x

This is what I’ve been saying. If the MR is declined I wanna know now as I’m ready for tribunal. The original wait time for the MR when I put it in was 15 weeks🤦🏽‍♀️ now from my original coc date it’s been almost 34 weeks. I’ve had enough. They need more staff and they need more training because half the people that was declined originally have had it over turned at MR stage so clearly someone is not doing their job properly to be declining those that qualify🤦🏽‍♀️

Is there no way you can call before hand to say that you’re in a meeting and unable to answer till later?

KingJoyce10 · 21/11/2024 10:57

I’m really hoping and praying it’s in our favour! My daughter is 8 now we have been fighting since she was 3 to be heard, and it’s like something has happened because we finally got accepted for paed assessment for ADHD in October after everyone shutting us down. My daughter is a brilliant masker but seems since starting year 4 she is more prominent at school and they are finally recognising my concerns! I have BPD myself so my girl is such a struggle for me x

I spoke to her and she has a few questions. She asked if she was back at school and then asked me to describe a typical day. I started but had to ask her to call back. I said 12 but should have said 1… I’m shaking now.

They are working on 28th June dates. They’ve incorrectly got mine down as 14th August. Case manager said she will get it changed to correct date of 06/08. I’ll call back next week to speak to case manager to check that’s been done.

SKB12 · 21/11/2024 11:14

MR date they are working on is 28th June. It was 24th June Monday.

Voice your concerns and ask for a meeting and stand your ground. My son has suspected autism and is on the waiting list. There’s 2 new head teachers in his school, a women who’s there all the time and a man who is headteacher for a different school also so shares time. First time I met him was me picking my son up as he threw up (there was a sickness bug going around, his older brother had been off sick a couple days before and half of his class was currently off sick) but cause my son urges when he feels uncomfortable, (which all his teachers know about) he accused my son right in front of him that ‘he’s purposely made himself sick so now look what he’s done, he’s managed to get himself a day off tomorrow too. If he’s not actually sick, I will be calling you in for a meeting to discuss this further’ - baring in mind, he had 100% attendance and has never actually made himself sick even with the urging. I just said okay and left. Then thought actually no it’s not okay. Stopped the women head teacher when picking my older child up (man head teacher was no where to be found) and told her in absolutely no circumstances am I having my child labelled ‘the naughty child’ and to tell him to get to know my child before judging him and if he still wants a meeting with me, I am free whenever he wants and will be down like a shot but the meeting will be on my terms and not his. This was in September and surprisingly, he hasn’t asked me for a meeting, doesn’t speak to me and turns the other way when I see him in playground. My son needs someone to stick up for him and unfortunately for them, that is me

Love this xxx

Just off the phone!
SD 12/07
Awarded today she got MRC & LRM until 2026, packbay beginning of next week! 😭🥳 I honestly thought we was going to get declined, I had nothing other than myself to back what I said until she got referred after I sent the DLA Forms off which I sent at a later date. I am over the moon and have cried like a baby for the last 10 minutes 🤣 Xx

Congratulations to you and your child! Amazing news

I asked to be put through to case manager when she said my claim was 14/08. That’s quite a difference in terms of when I would get a decision

Yes a massive difference given how long they are taking with each dates. Hopefully they sort it out

@SKB12 MR DATE 23/7

Well that’s a big difference to the date the manager quoted on the phone. I think different managers are on different dates and you get given the date that particular manager is working on 🤷‍♀️
