Scan date for new claim 3/7 - 20 weeks today. Just called and a decision hasn’t been made yet. She said she can’t escalate it as they have until 5 today to make a decision and to call back tomorrow. I might try call after 5 if that is a possibility. 😩

Did you call? Been thinking about you and have everything crossed for you x

Thank you for this I’m giving him a day off today and ringing the school as he is expressing he is scared of this ta and afraid to talk at all now. He doesn’t haven’t great communication anyway without this added. So he is licking his lips to self sooth because he is uncomfortable with this ta and she in his class everyday. This is now physical impact as his lips are so bad, we have only had this once with one other teacher and he is in year 5. Thankfully that got sorted, but we there again.. drives me mad. X

I felt as if my daughter was targeted when she was put on the SEN register. Things that were never an issue before became an issue.. like a brown hair bobble in her brown hair 🙄 uniform list doesn’t state hair bobble colours, and my non Sen child was fine with her blonde bobble in blonde hair! It got to the point she would have a huge meltdown and pull clumps of her own hair out. I then took it to safeguarding and got the issue sorted. It gave her a fear though, she will not go to school on a non-uniform day not in uniform as she’s scared of being in trouble. Some people don’t have the compassion to work with our babies xx

fingers crossed they seem to have really pushed on this week

Quick question, can the DM tell me on the phone what their decision is or do I have to wait? She is calling me back in 15 minutes and my stomach is in bits! Xx

SD 12/07
getting the kids ready for school and stupidly missed my phone, DM left a voicemail to say she needs some very important information to proceed and make a decision! Said keep my phone on and they will try again between now and 5:30pm 😩 I’m so anxious as I don’t know what that means, I didn’t miss anything off the form X

Oh no. Hopefully they call back soon so you're not worrying all day!

They can do, but some decide not to and just tell you to wait for the letter which can take 10 days. But you can call back and ask to speak to someone who can tell you though.

Apologies. I think I had just interpreted what I had been told which you're right, it is the behavioural criteria side of it x

No apology needed don’t be silly. Think there is a lot of confusion with it which I myself did not long ago, until some lady was questioning about her own child that physically couldn’t walk at all, it’s amazing what you learn off of Facebook groups😂

Kc1999x · 21/11/2024 10:06

@SKB12 just seen a 7th of July MR done👀👀

Danleigh89 · 21/11/2024 10:06

Rang again this morning to be told still in holding que, but other day got told an email would be sent to a designated case worker as I’ve waited over 20 weeks. So told something different yet again. If they’re all looking at same screen then why do they all tell something different. I’m tired of ringing now. What will be will be.

Is this a new claim? What's your scan date? I think we'd all understand if the waiting time went up and was standard for everyone. But when some people have a decision prior to 18 weeks and then some are waiting over 20 it's hard not to get annoyed at the whole flawed system

TheRoseSnake · 21/11/2024 10:20

Does anyone know how long a decision maker takes to make the decision? I was told it was with a DM yesterday, so I am unsure whether to start pestering them 😂

Hi new here
I just wanted to say I’ve been watching this thread for a while I think you bunch are incredible and offer a massive amount of support to each other
just a quick question when I send additional information does it change the scan date or is it just added on and my claim stays at the original scan date

Can be a day, can be a couple of weeks, you could be number one in the decision makers pile or number 100. Every time I’ve been told my sons is with the decision maker I’ve had a decision the following day always worth a check! Good luck x

It really is ridiculous and unfair. Hope you get an answer today

My scan date is 08/08
do you think I’m right in guessing I should hear mid January as I’m taking Xmas and new year in to consideration as obviously they will be closed

Also take it with a pinch of salt. Often they say what they think you want to hear. Many times people have been told its with a dm only to get told next time they call they either it isn't, or that they can't actually see that information

Hey guys could I ask some advice? My son is diagnosed autism and he is struggling with a ta in school,
he is stimming so bad as she took his break away the other day for talking when he said he wasn’t it was another child talking to him, this has really affected him. She told him off on the first day back at school in September and he never met her before for tapping a pen on the table. I have informed senco but nothing seems to be being done.
unfortunately when my son stims it involves licking lips to an point he makes them so chapped and sore. We are currently at this point. His lips are so bad, and he isn’t stopping, I feel like giving him a couple days off school to heal his lips as it’s windy and cold as well, it will get worse.
they are splitting and bleeding, it’s so horrible to see and he isn’t stopping coming home from school with them worse everyday. I’m treating them with Vaseline etc but it’s not helping.
i just don’t want to get in the habit of time off when he struggling with something if get me as we could then have school refusal.
he is a twin as well and my other son will have to go school.
I just don’t know what to do.
also children are laughing at him saying boys don’t wear lipstick, I’m angry as well to be honest as this is a bloody ta fault

Edited

Voice your concerns and ask for a meeting and stand your ground. My son has suspected autism and is on the waiting list. There’s 2 new head teachers in his school, a women who’s there all the time and a man who is headteacher for a different school also so shares time. First time I met him was me picking my son up as he threw up (there was a sickness bug going around, his older brother had been off sick a couple days before and half of his class was currently off sick) but cause my son urges when he feels uncomfortable, (which all his teachers know about) he accused my son right in front of him that ‘he’s purposely made himself sick so now look what he’s done, he’s managed to get himself a day off tomorrow too. If he’s not actually sick, I will be calling you in for a meeting to discuss this further’ - baring in mind, he had 100% attendance and has never actually made himself sick even with the urging. I just said okay and left. Then thought actually no it’s not okay. Stopped the women head teacher when picking my older child up (man head teacher was no where to be found) and told her in absolutely no circumstances am I having my child labelled ‘the naughty child’ and to tell him to get to know my child before judging him and if he still wants a meeting with me, I am free whenever he wants and will be down like a shot but the meeting will be on my terms and not his. This was in September and surprisingly, he hasn’t asked me for a meeting, doesn’t speak to me and turns the other way when I see him in playground. My son needs someone to stick up for him and unfortunately for them, that is me
