Yay so many awards and it’s only Tuesday. 🥳 even I want to call and I am only 12 weeks 😆 I will hold off till new year. In all seriousness it’s great to hear many waking up to backpay as call handlers always telling confusing information. Hopefully we can finish off the first two week of July in the coming days. MR as above is around last week of June. xxx

My sd is 28/08
my son has autism, sent a lot of evidence school, full report and diagnosis.
seeing loads getting declined even with a diagnosis but still a long wait for me, but not holding out hope.

A lot of people that have diagnoses for their children focus on that rather than focusing on the extra care needs. People forget that DLA isn’t awarded based off of diagnosis, if you’ve outlined extra care needs and backed it up with evidence then you’ll be perfectly fine! Good luck x

I caved and rang after seeing all the dates near mine hear back, scan date 9th July. Decision was made Friday and my daughters been awarded hrc and lm until June 2026. I’m crying. It’s been such a long 19 weeks.

I don’t think Friday was a slow day after all. Awards were made but they just hadn’t informed families! I know the DM I spoke to said they went from the 21st to 24th June between Friday to the following Monday for MRs

Thank you.
yes I put in all of his extra needs and he is a twin so compared his extra needs to his brothers and it’s a lot different given that the same age.
good luck to you too hun. X

You can get DLA without a diagnosis. It’s how the diagnosis impacts your child over a child of the same age that they look at. You’ve mentioned you’ve sent in evidence from school. That will definitely help your case.

yes senco didn’t a statement for me and included all his iep for last two years done every 3 months, the way he melts down and refuses to come in from the playground and won’t talk to adults. He will even lay in middle of road when he melts down not seeing the danger just expects cars to stop. School have also put everything extra, they help him with that isn’t funded and they. Putting in ehpc in January as they don’t want to be declined and had to build up evidence. He falls asleep in school and wakes around 4 times a night and I have to put him back to bed he is 10. He fussy with food have to cook separate then my other children and he won’t have anything touching. Can’t trust him to go park that’s across the road. He has a twin the same age and my son’s needs are massive compared to his twin.
good luck to you too x

I just rang they transferred me to someone higher as I’m over 20 weeks. He said on the phone his team leader will pass it to a designated decision maker and I should hear back with in a couple of days as it’s usually fairly quick. But he did say he has to add on another 2 weeks but it’s never usually that long. Ohhh the dreadful wait 🙁

Please call back this afternoon. I was told this on Friday lunchtime and turned out they made a decision that day!

ThisHangryOpalEagle · 19/11/2024 11:20

Phoned again, SD 12/07. Still no decision. He said it's in a holding queue. Not sure what that is, but I think it's where all claims are until they're with a decision maker. He said he shouldn't say dates but aim for 30th November, which is pretty much 20 weeks anyway. He mentioned how many times I had phoned up, which was pretty embarrassing, but he was nice. He said we're on the home stretch now and just to wait out a bit longer..

i rung a couple weeks ago at week 10, to send extra evidence and address. I spoke to a lovely lady as I asked what the wait times were, as I had a letter saying they are aware I’m waiting at decision would be made within 15 weeks. I think that’s the standard letter after finding this group and fb group after. She said 20 weeks is pretty much the longest. She said mine was in a queue to be given to the decision maker, I said why say 15 weeks on a letter then. She said it could well be 15 weeks looking at the queue ahead of you. They are so confusing sometimes. X

Yet they told me they can’t see how many claims are ahead. They lie i’m pretty sure which are orders from higher above
