Hello everybody, I have made a new thread please put in your scan date, hopefully we hear some good news this month. please be kind and feel free to share scan date, entitlement award and what child is diagnosed with as others in similar position can feel uplifted in these stressful times. 💐

New claims (NC) are taking ‘around’ 20 weeks.
Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) & Change Of Circumstances (COC) between 20-25 weeks approx.
Renewals between 15-20 weeks approx

scan date (SD) date form was scanned on the system and counting weeks for decision

original claim date: date you called up for the forms and you will be backdated

UC : universal credit
DWP: department of work and pensions
DM: decision maker; the person who assesses each claim and awards/decline a case

number for an update (0800) 121-4600

this is what I keep saying. I’ve got all the paperwork ready for tribunal already. My anxiety can’t take the waiting🤦🏽‍♀️ it’s been over 30 weeks from original date, and then another year if it is tribunal🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Kc1999x · 15/11/2024 13:59

I’m gonna call up when I get home. See if anything has changed for me lol

mammyoflilyandluca · 15/11/2024 14:00

@SKB12 fingers crossed 🤞🏻 what's your scan date? Mines 11/7 so I "should" hear within less than 2 weeks now, rang up this morning and he told me to ring back next week for an update😬these are the teeth gritting weeks I think where all sense of calm and waiting patiently just go out the window!!😂

No you have a good point. They wouldn’t want the extra information if they weren’t leaning towards awarding.

This would make sense wouldn’t it? X

Me too. I’ve been making sure everything is up to date and chasing up any loose ends so we are good to go if MR doesn’t go in our favour. Remind me, what grounds is yours on etc?

Am I being unrealistically positive in thinking that they only wrote to the school to back up what I said. And now they have, I’ll get awarded? 🤣 x

No I definitely think that’s the case. They just wanted a bit of ‘proof’. I’d see it that way if it was my claim and would actually be shocked if they declined!

Yes exactly what I’ve been doing! And HRM under SMI. They didn’t even look at that criteria. I think they rushed my sons tbh

Thank you. I am thinking this way but worried I’m giving myself false hope x

Another had a decision for the 12th of July on Wednesday

For a MR? If so then the DM was lying!!

Wow so we are doing ours on the same grounds. Apparently they tend to award incorrectly a lot. We are also trying for HRM.

I believe so yes. But then I’ve seen people in September and October had their decision for mr aswell

yeah I’ve heard they avoid that criteria a lot. They extended the award till 2032 but I know my boy is entitled so I’m going all the way with it. Sick of being fobbed off by people

I honestly don’t believe my bloody luck! I called just now and got put through to customer services as it’s been over 20 weeks. My bloody decision maker isn’t in today and won’t be back until next week 😫 x

That's so frustrating. The forms need to be passed to available decision makers in date order as we're getting claims from September awarded, while people like yourself have been waiting a very long time 😔

I’m just hoping it will be worth the wait and then I’ll be happy. It’s the unknown that’s driving me mad x

MrsW12 · 15/11/2024 14:42

I’m starting to wonder if any of them are working today as it’s been very quiet on awards x

PollyH3 · 15/11/2024 14:58

Called and he instantly went into "your claim hasn't been looked at, its taking 20 weeks, we received it on 8/7" I was like yes but I'm calling to check my evidence you received this morning was scanned on today. He said it's been scanned on. So the waiting game now. I'm really hoping to have a decision by this time next week. Not 20 weeks until a week on Monday, but would be nice not to have yet another weekend thinking about it. And I honestly thought waiting 16 weeks earlier this year for my daughters claim was hard.

Hi I'm a silent watcher.
This morning I had phone call from decision maker. Then got text. I've rung to ask for outcome but was told she couldn't tell me what it was I'd have to wait for letter
called for COC 4th January
Declined 13th may
MR SD 24th june

Annoying she wouldn't tell me the answer on the phone i feel like I've waited long enough

Hope everyone else isn't waiting to long ❤️

I thought there were 2 different types of text, but I could be wrong, maybe someone could confirm. Also potentially different for MR.

From what I've seen (not 100% sure if it's actually fact) if you're declined the text will be something along the lines of "we've made a decision about your claim, you'll get a letter etc" if you're awarded it will be something along the lines of "we've decided your child qualifies for DLA, we'll send you a letter with everything you need to know etc" but again this isn't fact it's just what I've seen and what I've seen a couple other people say on Facebook

So they are getting through the MRs. Ours is August 6th. Good luck hope you’ve been awarded. I would’ve called back 😬

mammyoflilyandluca · 15/11/2024 15:25

Adding in to comment above, this could be very different for MR!

SKB12 · 15/11/2024 15:28

Kc1999x · 15/11/2024 13:55

I feel it really is pot luck with who you get as a decision maker. Some seem to be working a lot faster than others

Certainly seems that way. The DM I spoke to said they were on 20th June so that’s quite a jump to 3rd July MRs

S/D 06/08 😭 just glad they have started to look at Julys now. I had really hoped to hear in December, still hope I guess
