Hi everyone, my daughter was awarded yesterday at tribunal. Does anyone know if they are still back dating cost of living payments for children whose claims have now been overturned? Thanks in advance x

Congratulations and yes you should automatically still receive the payment because you was technically still entitled to it I would contact them just to be sure tho xx

Thankyou for this information and this is because I’ve apprarently not
infromed them of a change in circumstance which they think happened back in April start of the claim but this goes from scan date they asked me to verify changes in my circumstances on my journal 2 weeks ago I thought this was routine and didn’t obviously change anything because their hasn’t been a change and because DWP has informed them their has been a change until it’s looked into theyve suspended the claims I have an appointee so she also has to act on behalf of the children too as their appointee even tho Im the legal guardian of them,, her address and mine are different because we live separately but they’ve basically added her address and the child’s address together so it looks like she lives with me while it’s investigated both of our moneys have stopped because we’ve technically been receiving too much even tho we haven’t (I did get a payment from UC after explaining the situation and error) but it’s not enough to cover the out goings excetra which is why I’ve had to borrow on top hope this makes sense x

Oh yeah it makes sense.. you will get money owed to you and rent council tax will be paid aswell even if its got a stop onit they will reinstate it so I'd suggest you tell landlord or who ever you pay rent or if its only council tax that is a little delay not your fault and to wait as you will lose out of the money goes directly to them and you already paid them, if this helps 😊

MumOf6Beauts · 09/07/2024 13:53

Hiya, update on MR scan date 20/03 .... she has been awarded MRC And LRM im so happy I cried! She deserve it so much, and it's such a big relief after 33 weeks of waiting and being told no
I hope there is a lot of awards today! Good luck to everyone still waiting ☺️

Yes thankyou so much I’ve informed them all of what’s gone on and their very understanding so 🤞 this all gets verified and sorted ASAP I’m trying not to worry but it’s all so stressful thankyou for your advice cx

Do u no by any chance when a claim is priority how long it roughly takes for the decision x

OneGreenBird · 09/07/2024 14:00

Haven't posted in days my sons outbursts have increased, hes hitting me roughly every 10 minutes now and has also hit a boy in nursery who was in "his space" 😫 and also his 1:1 (ive updated DLA with this information)
Ive missed a load of award posts so congratulations to those who have been awarded so far. Its so lovely to hear you've all finally got what you deserve ❤

Just rang on the off chance something would of changed. Im 14 weeks and 5 days and just couldn't wait until Thursday which would of been the 15 week mark 🙄
37 minutes on hold ffs but when she answered she told me it was with the decision maker and I should hear something in the next few DAYS 😬
I really didn't expect that... Heads all over the place now!
My scan date is 28/3 so very fast turn around for me by the looks of things..

Update - rang today and my daughter got middle rate care for two years. No mobility as she isn’t 5 yet. Does anyone know how the back pay works and when roughly that should happen ? Also how do I apply for mobility when she’s 5

Good luck! That's my scan date but for MR so not sure if time scales are the same but hopefully not too long for us both! Keeping everything crossed!

MumOf6Beauts · 09/07/2024 14:08

Thank you! They don't text you for MRs unfortunately I rang up I couldn't wait any longer! And had to ask to be put through to someone who could give me the decision ☺️

Hi all, Has anyone been awarded with no professional backing? I’m at the very start of having my daughter assessed she is 8. I have no reports or documentation I could send in for proof , they will be making a decision going off what I have told them and the statement the school wrote. But that’s is. I’m on 12 weeks wait now but feel anxious and like they won’t believe me with no proof 🤷🏻‍♀️ Any stories similar would be great thanks ☺️ xx

This sounds exactly like me and we've been awarded mrc last week.

Thank you for your support, I really hope you get a answer soon too! Fingers crossed for you ❤

If you’re child is under 3 they will send a claim pack 6 months before but can only claim HRM. They will do the same before 5th birthday but then you be entitled to LRM.

Hi all.
I'm currently on week 9 of my MR. First applied in January and got rejected end of April.
I highly doubt he'll get awarded with the MR but I can only hope.
What's the process after this of he gets rejected again, tribunal? What happens there, where is it usually and do you attend?
Just need to know what I may have to do after this.

Many thanks

Hi, I don't know the answer to your questions but just wanted to say sorry you're going through this 😫 its disgusting that anyone should have to fight for support for their SN children.
I genuinely hope things go your was and don't reach the point of tribunal ❤

Thank you, tbf everything with my son has been a battle, so it's expected. He masks at school so never had any support from them, he does have a diagnosis but that's all I have x

Does anyone know if they ask for birth certificate it means they're looking at the claim? Thanks

They asked for the birth certificate early on for confirmation of details. It’s normal, you usually send original and send it back to you. It’s routine. It doesn’t mean they are looking at your claim x

For what back date in uc or dla?. I no on uc it really depends on the area and how long of a back log there is in that area.. some areas are done same day some take weeks or if its been picked up properly.. sometimes they not passed to be delt with straight away they sit not been passed over till end of week as thats what some case workers are like.. but that is my job to read logs and listen to calls to see what mistakes are happening, how well they doing the job, what needs improving, attitude of them alsorts really.. hope this helps 😊
