Time for a new thread ready for another week of waiting.
Hopefully lots of us get the results we're so desperately awaiting 🤞🏻❤

Is the received date the same as the scan date?

When I called 4 weeks ago, the guy was super fast and said all received on 20 May. (I sent it on 10 April.

Yesterday I spoke to a woman to update my daughters medications, and she was great. She also checked the date for me and said it was received on 20 April. I asked her to double check and she said yes definitely 20 April.

is the scan date different or did the first guy make a mistake?

Did you call to get the forms sent out? Did you send back via tracked or use the freepost? The 20/04 could be the day you called.

Herecomestheson0106 · 09/07/2024 10:30

I have just called the DWP (not DLA) but one of the automated security questions was asking for the DOB for the disabled person I care for. I have given my own DOB because I haven't heard back from MR so as far as I know I don't officially care for anyone. I asked the lady on the line about the security question and whether it could relate to DLA and she said she couldn't advise as she couldn't see any DLA payments on there for anyone. I thought it might have been the system recognising DLA but as she couldn't see maybe not. My hopes were so high for a few minutes!

I did call them to have the forms sent out. That’s an earlier date 03/04.

If you posted tracked and the scanned in for the 20/04 then that would be your scan date. However I know free post takes a while to scan in.

Stark101 · 09/07/2024 11:00

I was wondering if anyone know how renewal dates are worked out? I see some for 3 or 4 years.

VLR · 09/07/2024 11:02

are the systems up and working again now? Wondering if it’s worth ringing again to find out what my daughter was awarded. Yesterday they wouldn’t tell me but it was as their system was going down by the looks of it

Emma2345 · 09/07/2024 11:18

Does anyone no the quick way to get thru?

XxNatty1xX · 09/07/2024 11:19

Hi all, Has anyone been awarded with no professional backing? I’m at the very start of having my daughter assessed she is 8. I have no reports or documentation I could send in for proof , they will be making a decision going off what I have told them and the statement the school wrote. But that’s is. I’m on 12 weeks wait now but feel anxious and like they won’t believe me with no proof 🤷🏻‍♀️ Any stories similar would be great thanks ☺️ xx

Yes they are. I rang and got the details I needed x

Bella2220 · 09/07/2024 11:26

I got through this morning! She’s been awarded high rate care and low rate mobility, I’m so happy all the anxiety has been worth it! 2 years however I’m so happy she finally gets the help she needs ❤️ my scan date was 08/04 however it was made priority Thursday! I keep thinking they’ve made a mistake and they’ve looked at the wrong person haha!

Emma2345 · 09/07/2024 11:34

There is no quick way. The route they only tell you if you have a decision they can’t see nothing else.

I personally have not, but others mention they got awarded with no evidence and someone filling in knows your child best. You child needs have had the care needs for at. Least 6 months prior to the claim.

They must have had these difficulties for at least 3 months and expect them to last for at least 6 months.

I’m currently on week 15 now so no decision yet, but I hardly had no evidence all I sent was advised letter of global development delays (never got a formal diagnosis)
audiologist report showing hearing loss
risk assessment from school
letter from school stating only attends mainstream school for 1 hour day for the past 21 weeks
and school pro active plan
my son (8) is not on any pathways no referral made etc although he’s displaying lots of traits of adhd school don’t recognise this or ignoring it 🤷🏻‍♀️ They wouldn’t even fill in the person who knows the child part .. i was very detailed in describing his struggles but whether or not they believe me remains to be seen yet
fingers crossed you get what your child deserves

There is an alternative way, It's not a short way but 1523 is sometimes a little longer but they have more access to your claim than the normal way as they're mainly agency who are told 20 week wait and can only see part of the claim

zoeybrooks45 · 09/07/2024 12:09

MissBeckIsAtWork · 09/07/2024 11:54

I have just realised by the time the process the claim it would have been 4 months waiting. Thank you for the correction

Tiny1994 · 09/07/2024 12:14

@MrsMacmumto6 20/03 phoned up the lady said it's in last waiting pile waiting to be picked up.

Brittany95 · 09/07/2024 12:22

Congratulations to those who have been awarded yesterday and good luck for all of us who are still waiting 🤞🏻🥰

im on week 14 today so i still have another 1-6weeks left to wait . Fingers are crossed for everyone still waiting that we here back soon and our children get awarded what they deserve x

That’s kind of the gist I got too. A queue for a queue got to love the DWP one of the only government agencies in 2024 to have limited/no access online to most of their services

NimbleQuail · 09/07/2024 12:31

Even in the NHS we use email/sms for letters and information. I don’t understand why the DWP is so behind, they must waste a fortune (time and money) in unnecessary admin.

SD 14/3 no update since yesterday when they said it wasn’t even with DM. (I’m going to add this to each post I make as I find it hard remembering everyone’s progress).

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so abrupt. I'm at work and dipping in and out of the thread. 😀😁

Seems a bit harsh to stop all payments over address issue and they ain't contacted you to clarify it, some people claim and use different address as thier right address isn't good for post and still get paid, I work within universal credit not as a case manager or anything but reading through statements and checking there's been no errors etc and I've read a load of people who have different postal addresses to main address.. they also need to contact you over any issues they have that could effect payment, they also cannot leave you without money and can arrange same day or next day money transfer

Thankyou for this information and this is because I’ve apprarently not
infromed them of a change in circumstance which they think happened back in April start of the claim but this goes from scan date they asked me to verify changes in my circumstances on my journal 2 weeks ago I thought this was routine and didn’t obviously change anything because their hasn’t been a change and because DWP has informed them their has been a change until it’s looked into theyve suspended the claims I have an appointee so she also has to act on behalf of the children too as their appointee even tho Im the legal guardian of them,, her address and mine are different because we live separately but they’ve basically added her address and the child’s address together so it looks like she lives with me while it’s investigated both of our moneys have stopped because we’ve technically been receiving too much even tho we haven’t (I did get a payment from UC after explaining the situation and error) but it’s not enough to cover the out goings excetra which is why I’ve had to borrow on top hope this makes sense x
