Time for a new thread ready for another week of waiting.
Hopefully lots of us get the results we're so desperately awaiting 🤞🏻❤

I would send it in. I sent in my dd’s prescriptions and wrote how I have to decant them all into her pill boxes once a week then three times a day get them out and take them to her then supervise her taking them/encourage her etc. it’s all time taken than is beyond the level of care expected for a secondary school aged child IMO. The DM probs won’t agree 🥴

Hey everyone!

does anyone know the rough wait time for priority! Waited over an hour for them to answer then the phone cut off 😭😭

Hi, my DD claim has also been made a priority but wasn't told how long it takes to be seen. It such a hard wait, any kind of award will make such a difference for her.
Hope you get some good news soon 🙏 x

It’s the exact same form, include any original evidence sent for first claim and any additional evidence for changes in need. If you don’t get it back in time it’s classed as a new claim I think that’s why they delay sending them out or say they’ve sent it and it doesn’t turn up. They said they’d sent one I didn’t receive so requested another that didn’t turn up either but the third one did…. Just got off the phone still not with a DM due to go to a DM this week, hoping I get a DM who doesn’t leave my application in a pile and goes on annual leave that happened last year and I waited 22 weeks

Thank you for your help, that is one thing I was wondering if I need to send in past evidence that still explain his needs now. I can’t believe you had to call 3 times to finally receive them, I bet even if we called earlier to request a renewal form they would say it’s to early and not send them. I know we are only in July but I think I will make a start on putting all evidence I have into an envelope and add to it as extra evidence comes incase the forms come late. Good luck with your decision I hope you hear soon

Hiya yes I called up Thursday for update due to nursery now needing funding for 1 to 1 as they are struggling to cope and cannot be funded without DLA award he said he made priority I was so shocked as I didn’t intend that from the call I just wanted an update, but seem to over share a lot 🫣 I had an award text the day after called up and he said decision was made the Thursday!

UC said they have sent a payment on Friday for backdating does anyone know how long it takes to go into a bank account. I’ve spent 8 weeks arguing with them and want to know a time frame that’s acceptable before I call and ask about it

My uc backpay was sent to bank on Friday aswell, it doesn’t say on the letter how long the backpay will take but I’m guessing it will be 3-5 working days. I’ve put a note on my journal because they’ve backdated mine to the beginning of my February award but they haven’t added the disability or carers elements to that month which means I’m a month down in backpay. Still waiting for them to reply.

Oh wow! Congratulations! Thats amazing you can hopefully now get the funding 1 to 1!
Hopefully we can get the same, my DD needs have become so much higher and will need extra funding for school soon. X

Hi guys sorry to geg in on your post, i got awarded over a week ago and werent sure how to tell UC, i ended up seeing a post on here on how to do it after me leaving messages on my journal them not getting back to me! Was just wondering how long did it take for anyone to even reply to you before you called i hate even speaking to them feel like they just judge you, we will be getting backpay from them from march so maybe thats why they arent replying to me 🙈

Stark101 · 08/07/2024 11:37

FYI SD 13/3 I got a call today. I missed some details out of my form. I.e EU benefits she mentioned that I should get decision within 24/48 hours. She rang on 0800 number.
So I’m hoping everyone else during this SD will be hearing soon.

They will usually send you a message on your journal saying it’s been verified and it’s been sent to a dm to make the backdating decision, I waited a month and still hadn’t heard anything so wrote on my journal questioning why I haven’t heard anything and they responded that same day with a decision then the following day they updated past rewards and sent me a letter with how much they ow me that will be sent to my bank, I can’t say how long it will take to go into the bank as I’m still waiting but I shouldn’t think I will be long.

Bella2220 · 08/07/2024 11:51

I just called they said their systems are down and they can only see so much 😬 they did say my claim was with DM, does anyone know how long it can be with a DM they couldn’t give me any rough answers 😑😑

MissionBiscuits · 08/07/2024 12:14

Got the text this morning to say we've been awarded! I rang up, she couldn't see it so put me through, the bloke I spoke to said that the system is down so he couldn't see what we'd been awarded and the letter wasn't there yet either, so I guess I'll have to wait and see! I rang the short way, was waiting for about 10 minutes to get through.

My whole process took 8 weeks. They never replied to me on my journal either and the people on the phone was just as useless. I hope you don’t have to o wait as long as what I did. If I wait the 5 days for the back pay then it will be z9 weeks in total

Got a text after the phone call earlier to say my son qualifies. Will they let me know what rates he will get over the phone?

Excellent! Upthread people have said their systems were down and they couldn’t access rates. Not sure if it’s back up?

Rang up this morning to check progress, it's a clerical case and because ds is 3 they don't have a national insurance number for him so they are just waiting for a client ID number before they can issue any updates or payments the lady on the phone stated that it could now take longer than the 20 weeks I've waited 18 weeks this week and the weight is driving me mad, sent form s off Feb 21st 🙈

Clerical means done by hand.. your child won't have a national insurance number yet it will be a reference number from them.. it shouldn't discriminate your claim though.. I would ring up ask for answers as each child is given a reference number from them when you apply.. I'd ask then to go into depth of why it's clerical and what issues they have and also why it should cause you to wait longer.. hope you get sorted out
