@Tangerin its horrible isn’t it? I wish there was an online system so I could just log in and see what’s was happening. I don’t even think it’ll be accepted anyway I sent a letter off senco and that was it. I think if they are going to continue to send letters out with 15 weeks they should at least change the bloody music. I’m about to lose my mind 🤯🤯🤯🤯

Hi all! I’ve been sitting and reading all your posts for the last couple of months :) stalker much? Heh, seriously though, I figured I would finally add a post if my own.
scan date is 9/11.

called this morning to be told it’s not even been picked up by a case manager yet. (Oh, and heads up, they know how often you call!) I was mortified when he said “I can see you’ve called a few times recently” lol!

Like you all, I’m worried I’ve not wrote enough and I didn’t go in to much detail in my son’s care needs. He has been diagnosed with Developmental Language Disorder. He is 5 years old and no one barely understands a thing he says.. I’ve sent his SALT assessment letter which clearly says “it is my professional opinion that he needs to come out of mainstream and attend a special needs school that facilitates his needs” but I’m still not convinced they will award him.

Same, @EasygoinyAmy , I don't know why I do this to myself, just anxious now.. I just can't wait for anything 😭

@Tangerin i think I’m going to ask my hubby to hide my phone and disconnect the home phone haha 😛

Just had the strangest thing happen - I called up tonget an update ( scan 16/11 ) and I pressed 1 for English and then a message was played saying I would receive a letter by the first week of April detailing how much money is due to be paid as a result of my application and that I didn't need to do anything until then... has anyone else had this?!

I think it's because the rates are due to go up in April, I don't think it's anything to do with individual claims x

@bonz2023 Hi! Can you remind me what your scan date is? I’m pretty sure it was near mine? And you mentioned you had sent in SALT report as evidence? I’ve sent SALT report too.. but that’s all. Nervous now!

7/11 - yes she was referred 2 years ago as she wasn't achieving where she should have been at the end of reception, she's had 2 sessions with 1 one 1 so I sent those reports

then she was invited for a group session last week but I haven't had a report from that yet, it was school that told me that SALT can investigate suspected ASD, following the session they said they think there is something to explore

Still on hold, it has been over an hour, so I would recommend people don't ring until the morning unless you want to despair like me. I imagine wait will only get worse as the day progresses :-(

right, I get you. Did you find it difficult explaining the extra care needs? I think I’m just so used to not understanding my son very well I just get on with it and let him have anything he wants absentmindedly :( if that makes sense?.. I definitely feel like I didn’t write enough.

@Tangerin I called this morning at 1 minute past 9 and got through in 10 minutes, all other times I’ve called it’s been around this time now and it’s taken approx 50 minutes. :/ really need an online system for this! It causes such unnecessary stress!

Yes it's hard to describe everything on paper when it's your day to day life and you are used to it, I felt so much relief after the appointment last week because I thought it's not just me who see's a difference in her

If you suspect ASD and they are already under SALT maybe ask them about a social skills assessment session (maybe called something different in your area) I honestly thought it was going to be a waste of time as she masks in school but they picked up on a few things I would never of even thought about

@bonz2023 That must be a relief for you that you aren’t the only one who sees is then and hopefully you can get support that way if other people are seeing the change in your child. My son can’t mask his speech anywhere of course, but I dread collecting him from school because he can get agressive and I think it’s due to his frustration from the day. He has started hitting me and threatening to throw things if I don’t have his scooter after school or if I haven’t brought him some sweets.
DLD is apparently diagnosed when there is no other explaination for the speech delay, including autism.. so I don’t know, :( he is delayed in several areas, does wet himself through the night 4 days out of 7 id say.. but school have mentioned this could be anxiety due to frustration.. but I never thought it could be something else ..

Scan date 25/10.

Was told last Mon & Fri it was with a DM but no decision made yet. Today they cannot speak to me because I have an appointee (despite agreeing previously to give me "minimal" information). Frustrated isn't the word.

@Tangerin Eventually got through. He said I will likely hear next week he’s noted down that I would like to receive a text. He did say that not all have the ability to send a text out but would put a note on. He was really lovely to be fair. I explained all the new info but I’m just waiting for teachers etc.

Im Going to make a cup of tea, might even add some gin in lol 😂

I finally spoke to someone and it is with a case manager. I was told it was with a decision maker two weeks ago, it this the same thing? CM or DM or is it taking longer because the DM sent it to a CM? Does it mean my claim is not straight forward? The nerves are real.
Now waiting for the CA unit 😭

@Tangerin Ive asked them this question before and they said a case manager and decision maker are the same thing to me. lol! I think they say different things to try and trick us haha
