Who would like a Moondog Masterclass?

Moondog has been chatting on this thread and has said that she'd be willing to hold a session if enough people wanted to come.

To make it worth her while (in preparing for the session, travel, etc.) she'd need 15 to sign up. She's not advertising, by the way, I've asked her if she'd do one if there were enough of us. Smile

Sooo if there were around 15 people interested who could all get to within striking distance of Moondog/each other, it could be fantastic.

Any ideas for subject gladly welcomed - I know a few of you have been to Moondog stuff so we could avoid repetition.

I'd love to understand the basics on task break down/direct instruction, etc., but I'm probably quite a bit behind some of you ABAers, so I'm willing to go with the majority if it gets a session off the ground.

June best for me. It would be good to get a fixed date ASAP as well lougle so that I can commit to it and get my lovely colleague ( who should I think be looking at this thread too) committed as well. Once we have a date, you can home in on a location and depending on this, I can start pricing up and deciding on content. It would be good to good to fi a doodle poll on this too. I could send you details of what areas we feel competent to cover and then folk ca vote on what they do/don't want and we can plan according to demand/ interest.

hazeyjane · 26/02/2014 18:38

done - but I have cloned myself (which unlike cloning Moondog, would be of no use to anyone!) so there are 2 of me.

StarlightMcKingsThree · 26/02/2014 18:54

Definitely go then ZZZZZ, peeps can hold you down and you know, burn you with a hot poker until you agree with everything, in order to have your soul saved.

It is unfortunately true that no-one from Herts ever came to see ds' programme despite loads of invitations. A more friendly member of staff was willing to share with me the reason being that they thought ABA brain washed them because all staff who went to see an ABA programme seem to have come back converted.

I kid you not.........

Ok...I think you're right Moondog.

Looking at the voting polls, some people have filled in one but not the other. Some people have not voted yes or no to the Swindon option.

As it stands, when I collate the results, there are 15 people who can attend on 14th June in London and 15 people who can attend on 14th June in Swindon (some cross-over between dates/location).

As several people haven't given their availability date wise, I can't confirm the date that is most popular. Same goes for location, although it has narrowed to either London or Swindon, with Swindon being the free location.

I personally think that 15 is too few to go with on the polls, if you need 15 guaranteed attendees to run the session, because there are always drop-outs.

Please could people make sure:

-You've answered both polls
-You've gone back into the location poll and given your availability for Swindon

I really don't want to waste Moondog's time (and that of her colleague).

The polls will close on Sunday

Lougle, sorry. I am on of the naughty ones here. I have ticked EVERY venue but no dates. That is because I can get anywhere but have absolutely no idea about dates unless it is within the next 2-3 weeks.

Far better for me to just tell me a date and then I can reply yay or nay.

Hopefully it shouldn't mess up your data analysis because I can do all locations.

Donki · 27/02/2014 12:14

I have only just caught up with this - I would be really interested in finding out more about ABA, both professionally and for my son. But I am Ooop North, and none of the locations are really accessible to me. Would an online session be doable another time?

AtomicMitten · 27/02/2014 12:41

Would a non-Mnetter be allowed to come? My friend is the SENCO for our school, she may very well be interested, but I thought I would ask here before asking her.

lougle · 27/02/2014 12:52

Of course Smile

Great, Star - thanks for letting me know.

I have filled in both polls as I would like to attend or possibly send my husband who has far more patience and ability than I do when teaching DS. I can do Swindon and the 14th June

Ta very much

lougle · 27/02/2014 21:25

Brilliant, thanks for filling in the polls!

Is it to late to sign up, well actually have filled in the forms hoping not. sounds really interesting and what we need.

mumgoingcrazy · 28/02/2014 13:09

My DH would also like to come, so you could count my dates and location as x2 (of course depends on getting someone to have the kids though).

lougle · 28/02/2014 13:38

Great - polls won't close until Sunday, and even then if there were new people who were willing to fit in with what's been decided, they'd be welcome.

AtomicMitten · 28/02/2014 19:26

My friend would like to come, so could you count me as 2 as well please.

lougle · 28/02/2014 20:18

Sure, AtomicMitten, but you haven't filled in the Location Poll so if you want your vote to be counted, please fill it in.

lougle · 02/03/2014 22:40

Ok, I'm closing the polls tonight.

The date (subject to confirmation by Moondog and her colleague) that is most popular is Saturday 14th June.

Location is still uncertain. I'm sending PMs to a few people who didn't answer the location poll, but are available on the 14th of June.

OP posts:
AtomicMitten · 03/03/2014 16:34

I am Kate Carter on the location poll.

moondog · 03/03/2014 18:02

Lovely colleague and I are both good for June 14th so having talked to Lougle offline, this is the date in the diary. We will do a poll on topics we can cover next so people can indicate what they are interested in/would like to know more about. Other suggestions from you all will be welcome too.

lougle · 03/03/2014 19:26

Thanks for confirming, Moondog.

I'm still waiting to finalise the location, but will update as soon as possible.

lougle · 03/03/2014 19:27

Brilliant, Atomic - I've seen that now and will count you as 2.

Am I too late for this? X

lougle · 05/03/2014 19:34

Hi Toni, you're not to late to join in but you're too late to decide the date/venue.

The date is set for 14th June 2014. The venue is still pending confirmation of availability - hopefully I'll be able to update next week.
