Who would like a Moondog Masterclass?

lougle · 12/02/2014 21:31

Moondog has been chatting on this thread and has said that she'd be willing to hold a session if enough people wanted to come.

To make it worth her while (in preparing for the session, travel, etc.) she'd need 15 to sign up. She's not advertising, by the way, I've asked her if she'd do one if there were enough of us. Smile

Sooo if there were around 15 people interested who could all get to within striking distance of Moondog/each other, it could be fantastic.

Any ideas for subject gladly welcomed - I know a few of you have been to Moondog stuff so we could avoid repetition.

I'd love to understand the basics on task break down/direct instruction, etc., but I'm probably quite a bit behind some of you ABAers, so I'm willing to go with the majority if it gets a session off the ground.

Hello!

I have a shiny new announcement:

Moondog & Lovely Colleague Master Class
Date: 14th June 2014
Venue: Swindon

I hope that caters for as many people as possible and sorry if anyone is disappointed - it was impossible to find a date/location that suited everyone so I had to go with the best date and a location that the majority of people could get to with low cost, etc.

Moondog and her Lovely Colleague are putting together a 'menu' of potential topics, so we'll run another poll for those when the shortlist is drawn up.

I'll give the full address of the location to those who sign up when it's all arranged - I'd rather not post it on the forum because it may out the lovely poster who has arranged the venue on my behalf.

Is there an approximate cost? Just trying to keep my friend updated. Thank you for letting us all know lougle, great job on organising!

You've done a great job. I'm in! Just need to know costs and timings etc but I know you'll let is know in due course!

We're thinking possibly around the £100 mark - but it will very much depend on numbers. The higher the numbers, the more the costs can be spread.

Moondog and her Lovely Colleague will have to do quite a lot of work to prepare and they will have to travel, etc.

I thought that would be about the cost - I know that was what was first thought.

I'm happy to say that Moondog and her Lovely Colleague have put together a list of subjects they can cover at the event in June. They can cover different areas, so we should be able to have a very useful day.

To decide which areas should be covered, Moondog has asked me to ask you all to look at the subjects and indicate how much you would like them covered.

The survey can be found here - it only has 4 questions, so it should be quick and easy to complete.

Happy ticking! Smile

Is it to late to express an interest? Think I can make it.

Report
lougle · 03/04/2014 07:12

It's never too late! The event is on 14th June in Swindon. Cost is estimated to be around £100 per person, but cost will be confirmed once we know final numbers -the more we have attending, the lower the cost per person, as we can spread the cost.

If you fill in the survey with your MN nickname and answer the questions, I'll collate all the answers and let Moondog know the popularity of each subject for each speaker. Then Moondog will come up with a final programme for the day.

Just a thought... do people want lunch on the 14th?

Am happy to do large slow cookers of chilli/curry (veggie and meaty) for people to help themselves,
(I don't have the expense of travel, so happy to do, if enough want it... and if maybe a few people bring a bag of salad of crusty bread...
Or amazing chocolate cake, of course, if the urge took you.. (sign's gaze wanders innocently in poulter's direction Grin )

Gosh, that sounds lovely and very much in the spirit of the camaraderie of the MNSN board..
Do you want to cost that up, let me know and I can add it into overall cost and then reimburse you?

Just bumping the thread - so far I've had 8 responses to the survey.

The event needs at least fifteen people to be viable, so please do fill in the survey if you intend to come, or are interested in coming but want to find out what the day will concentrate on.

Would love to come... sounds like something I would really benefit from... sadly I'm up north so not a viable option for me.

Just as an aside, will there be any literature available from the day, more than happy to pay.
