Hi! I'm going to be starting Slimming World again in January, I am signing up for a 12 week Countdown. I start a new job in January and know I will be working 12 hour shifts. Just wondered if anyone else is planning on starting then and if you fancied supporting each other here with meal ideas and moral support :) I have around 4.5-5st to lose and this time I am determined to do it! I've treated myself to a 1950's photoshoot as a Christmas present and want to use that along with feeling happier and healthier as motivation.

Brekkie ideas:

Portobello mushroom and egg, sometimes add beans

Bagel thin with egg

Bacon medallions, egg and mushroom

Weetabix

Wilma55 · 04/02/2022 21:50

No eggs? How about baked beans, anything that goes with them?

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 05/02/2022 10:11

Sorted my breakfast problem! Having brunch in a bit of sw sausages I forgot where in the freezer with some fried in spray oil tinned potatoes and beans. So can save hex b for dinner yay!!

MammaOfThree03 · 05/02/2022 17:27

I prefer to keep my HexB for later in the day too although I struggle to use my HexA anyone else find that?

mrsmacmc · 05/02/2022 23:39

@MammaOfThree03 I try and get 1 HEa in usually by having 2 babybel as snacks

Wilma55 · 06/02/2022 10:59

I use milk for one hexA though I drink a lot of tea and sometimes have cereal. Use second on cheese toppings/cooking if needed. Might have babybel as evening snack if have a spare hexA but sure I heard on a podcast that you don't have to use both?

I've stopped tracking my food which I know isn't sensible. Have upped the exercise a lot but know you can't exercise away a bad diet. Will see what impact it has later this week. I am so good at healthy meals. Just terrible at snacking.

ItWillBeDone · 08/02/2022 16:16

How's everyone else doing? It's gone very quiet!

lechatnoir · 09/02/2022 12:23

I had Covid last week and felt a bit rough for a few days plus no exercise so just muddle through but back on track and a 1lb off this week.
I've got a school reunion next March and determined to have lost another half stone by then. Day to day I'm fine I just seem to struggle (& gain) when I go out and the last couple of weeks we've had various birthdays and parties. I definitely have to track each day to stay on plan but got into a good rhythm with a planner on my fridge for meals and a tracker I write on every day.

ItWillBeDone · 09/02/2022 22:24

Oh no @lechatnoir. Are you feeling better now? Well done on losing a pound though. I did the same this week.

Whiterose23 · 10/02/2022 10:22

@lechatnoir Sorry to hear that you have been ill. Well done on your loss.

I’ve just weighed in and lost 1lb bringing my total to 12lbs. It’s half term for us next week so I need to come up with some coping strategies. We have 5 meals out plus one breakfast planned and I don’t want to gain too much.

ItWillBeDone · 13/02/2022 20:32

Well done on your loss @lechatnoir. Have you done any meal planning for this week? 5 meals out will be a challenge. You might already know this but lots of chain restaurants publish nutritional info online now, so you could probably make some better choices based on that.

Sorry, should have tagged @Whiterose23 in that post!

Random question but I saw a recipe on YouTube one of someone's what I eat in a day on slimming world type thing and now I cant find it can anyone advise?

It was something like quark semi frozen to make fake icecream with strawberries and choc shot on top. I think it was flavoured quark. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Wilma55 · 16/02/2022 10:05

I've no idea on recipe but if you go back into YouTube won't it be in your recent items/searches or whatever?

Found it!

It was on a channel called Katy Jayne if anyone's interested I quite like her content and find her relatable.

It was a nestle kvarg yogurt semi frozen with choc shot on top and strawberries. Sounds good!

Go you @mrsmacmc!
Over a stone off and over half way to target!

mrsmacmc · 25/02/2022 18:53

@Wilma55 thank you 🥰

ItWillBeDone · 01/03/2022 19:29

Well done! I'm glad I looked at this thread again today. I had a week off so am not hopeful for tomorrow's weigh in. But I'm going anyway.

Whiterose23 · 06/03/2022 08:56

@mrsmacmc- amazing you must be feeling incredible 😊

I’m slinking back in after my annual leave. I didn’t manage even one meal on plan and gained 5.5lbs 😳
Back on track now and hoping I’ll get most of that off this week.

lechatnoir · 08/03/2022 07:32

@mrsmacmc Grinwell done you that's amazing - are you starting to see the difference yet?. Not quite made the stone but another 2 on off this week taking me to a slow but steady 13.5lbs since the NY.

mrsmacmc · 08/03/2022 09:07

@Whiterose23 thank you and I'm sure you'll be back on track ❤️

@lechatnoir deffo a difference in my clothes and DH can see it in my face. 2lb is brilliant and I'm sure you'll get your stone next week 🤞🏻

ItWillBeDone · 10/03/2022 11:43

Well done @lechatnoir.

I gained half this week. Same last week. But I'm still half a stone down and that's better than not being. I'm back on it now so will hopefully do better next week!

lechatnoir · 15/03/2022 08:09

Grin hit that stone at long bloody last (1.5 off so a bonus 0.5). Slow and steady is paying off so don't lose sight of the goal and keep it up everyone
