Hi! I'm going to be starting Slimming World again in January, I am signing up for a 12 week Countdown. I start a new job in January and know I will be working 12 hour shifts. Just wondered if anyone else is planning on starting then and if you fancied supporting each other here with meal ideas and moral support :) I have around 4.5-5st to lose and this time I am determined to do it! I've treated myself to a 1950's photoshoot as a Christmas present and want to use that along with feeling happier and healthier as motivation.

A rather disappointing 1lb off this first week (& I've honestly not veered off plan once except half a cheese straw & a small glass of wine yesterday Confused), Definitely need to keep it up so just hoping it will show next week and I'll have a big loss.
What's on the menu this week for everyone? In need of some dinner inspiration. So far I'm down to have:

Prawn pad Thai (1 syn for oil)
Homemade pizza - yet to syn but around 12 from memory as long as I can find low fat mozzarella
Roast veg pasta bake, salad, garlic bread-7 - 1 for dressing, 6 for a slice of garlic bread

Crispsandchocolate4 · 10/01/2022 11:35

Well done OP on your first week! I have my first weigh in tomorrow and actually feel excited I'm hoping I'm not disappointed. I tend to loose more on my second week. I have found writing everything down as really helped me!

GorgonzolaSouffle · 10/01/2022 16:09

Going back on Wednesday…..

I’ve eaten myself stupid over the last 3 weeks.

imp2007 · 10/01/2022 19:31

I'm new to slimming world first weigh in tomorrow really really hoping I will lose a couple of llbs and get off to a good start 🤞

EllaSaturday · 11/01/2022 13:44

Well I only lost 1lbs for my first week, which is a bit sad - I stayed on plan as well, tracked everything I ate.
However, I'll keep going, perhaps it's on a delay haha

HeCalledMeAddie · 11/01/2022 18:58

I lost a pound in my first week too. Happy enough with that, slow and steady and all that. Although dd has tested positive for covid today and I feel like I could eat all the left over Christmas sweets Blush
It's going to be a long week!

imp2007 · 11/01/2022 20:55

Lost 2lb on my first weigh in today really happy with that. I've eaten really repetitively this week though to stay on track and not sure how sustainable that is. @EllaSaturday I have often found my body is a week behind when I've done other plans so stay strong you could be on for a great week next week 😊

lechatnoir · 11/01/2022 22:01

@imp2007 @HeCalledMeAddie @EllaSaturday well done on your losses Grin

Crispsandchocolate4 · 11/01/2022 22:08

mrsmacmc · 11/01/2022 22:25

pulls up chair going to first meeting on Thursday evening!

imp2007 · 12/01/2022 11:36

That's an amazing start @Crispsandchocolate4 well done! Does anyone know if two ingredient pancakes the egg and banana ones are free or if I'd need to syn the banana? Thinking they could be a great option in the evenings that's always my worst time for snacking 🙈

Wilma55 · 12/01/2022 14:37

I don't think so. Found this
slimmingwithstyle.blogspot.com/2013/11/recipe-syn-free-banana-pancakes.html?m=1

imp2007 · 12/01/2022 14:52

@Wilma55 that's useful thank you I thought that would prob be the case! x

ItWillBeDone · 12/01/2022 18:24

Well done on all of your losses! Don't be disappointed when you've lost one pound. That's one less than the week before so it's good.

I finally went to my first meeting. The scales were more alarming than I'd hoped. 13 stone 8.5 pounds. I remember when I was shocked I'd tipped over 12 stone. Target is 11 stone for now. Might go down to less than that but will have to see how it goes. Even when slim I've always been on the heavy side.

GorgonzolaSouffle · 13/01/2022 17:08

Porridge with blueberries and fat free yoghurt

A packet of sliced beef and a carrot

Syn free macaroni cheese and vegetables tonight.

lechatnoir · 13/01/2022 20:42

Day off yesterday for my birthday (breakfast good, rest of the day bad!) so draw a line under that and back on track today:

B: spinach and egg and toast HeB, milk for coffee HeA
L: beans on jacket plus salad with dressing 1
D: leftover stew 2 with rice and peas
Snack: apple, banana & a wispa 10 Shock

mrsmacmc · 13/01/2022 23:58

First meeting and I didn't run out the door! Need to lose 2 stone to get to where I want to be.

Absolutely shocked 😳 at the syns I've eaten prior to tonight (been a total saddo and scanning barcodes in the house!)

Day 1:

Overnight oats for breakfast prepped and in the fridge

Noodles with hoisin dressing (1.5 syns) for lunch

Mushroom risotto for tea

2 babybel HEa

kscience · 14/01/2022 01:18

Is it too late for me to join?

No idea how much I weight (no scales in the house) but have been stress eating (final year of degree) and no exercise. Now clothes not fitting and need to get in shape.

Whiterose23 · 15/01/2022 09:36

We’ll done to everyone on their losses this week.
I lost 5lbs on Thursday so feeling pretty happy.
Last night we had the I can’t believe it’s not butter chicken from the new pinch of nom book and that was super tasty
Tonight my husband wants homemade pizza as my parents bought us an ooni pizza oven for Xmas and it’s still in the box.
I need to work out how to make a low syn version for me.

lechatnoir · 15/01/2022 09:56

hi @kscience do join us we're all in the same boat!

@Whiterose23 I'm also having homemade pizza so do share once you've worked it out- I seem to remember using the old bbc good food dough, low fat mozzarella and free toppings and it coming in around 11 syns but will let you know when I've worked mine out! I also make a garlic mayo for dipping if I've saved enough points (light mayo, yogurt, garlic, lemon salt) And remember to add salad or some crudités.

ItWillBeDone · 15/01/2022 11:49

I'd love to know any low syns pizza recipe please. I started to calculate based on the flour that goes into my homemade base and it was depressing... toppings will be fine, it's just the base!

Wilma55 · 15/01/2022 11:57

Lodough pizza bases are 2syns each but only available online I think, and quite expensive.

lechatnoir · 15/01/2022 13:04

My pizza recipe is 650g flour and does 6 pizzas so 108g each. if 28g is 5 syns that's 20syns on flour alone. Need a different recipe as I really don't want to buy a base.

I'm saving my hea for cheese and free toppings so it's just the base.

Whiterose23 · 15/01/2022 13:32

A woman at group has suggested I use 100g bread flour (18 syns) a teaspoon of yeast, a pinch of salt and 125mls of warm water and leave to prove for a couple of hours.
I’ll have half with salad and use my a choice for cheese plus free toppings.
I’ll let you know how it turns out
