Hi! I'm going to be starting Slimming World again in January, I am signing up for a 12 week Countdown. I start a new job in January and know I will be working 12 hour shifts. Just wondered if anyone else is planning on starting then and if you fancied supporting each other here with meal ideas and moral support :) I have around 4.5-5st to lose and this time I am determined to do it! I've treated myself to a 1950's photoshoot as a Christmas present and want to use that along with feeling happier and healthier as motivation.

I love pizza think I will miss that most have ordered some lodough bases. Just tested positive for Covid though and feeling awful so think it might all be out the window now this week!

Vanderpump · 15/01/2022 14:51

Can I join? This is the first time I have tried sw so just trying to get my head around it

Poor you. Can you use the time your at home and feeling well enough, do some batch cooking - comfort food like soup, a big vat of free roast veg pasta sauce, dahls and curries all freeze well.
lechatnoir · 15/01/2022 16:58

@Whiterose23 I'm trying a similar sounding recipe (400g for 4 pizzas) and was thinking I might split into 5th as that would keep me within syn sand I can have a side salad. Just making my tomato base really quite excited for pizza 🍕

ItWillBeDone · 15/01/2022 17:05

I've bought a cauliflower to be able to make a cauli pizza base. Will let you know if that's as bad as it sounds Grin

For tonight we've having a takeaway curry but I've persuaded my husband to share a main. And I'm doing some boiled rice at home. I almost feel saintly.

I wish I could save syns in the week so I could splurge at the weekend.

Wilma55 · 15/01/2022 17:40

@ItWillBeDone I think a lot of people do save their syns even though its not advised by SW. No harm in trying it?

Whiterose23 · 15/01/2022 20:15

The pizza was delicious. My husband said that it was the best pizza he’d had for years!!

Monday weigh in and 3lb off . So pleased after a miserly 1lb in my first week. And @Whiterose23 that pizza looks amazing (& very impressed you only had half - I ended up logging 20 syns for mine so very lean day yesterday Wink)

Start: 12st 7
Current: 12st 3
Interim target: 11st 7
Final target: 10stone
Height: 5ft 6

Any more weigh ins to log?

GorgonzolaSouffle · 17/01/2022 08:37

There’s a pizza topped chicken breast recipe you can try……obviously not actual pizza but it might help.

ItWillBeDone · 17/01/2022 20:54

Well done @lechatnoir! I've got a couple of days til I have my first weigh in. And I did splurge on saved syns at the weekend... so the scales will tell me if this was a good idea. I've been exercising lots so I'm hopeful for a good result.

ItWillBeDone · 19/01/2022 21:54

I am very happy with a loss of five pounds in my first week. I just need to make sure I am not disappointed next week as I am sure it was down to being a beginner.

lechatnoir · 20/01/2022 08:40

@ItWillBeDone well done you that's great.

How's everyone else is doing is the motivation and willpower waning or are you still going strong? I've had a couple of days not strictly to plan & didn't track (fatal for me!) and I could easily have slipped back into old habits. Woke up this morning and given myself a talking to - already lost 4lbs, feeling less bloated and finally getting back into my running (albeit with some walking still!) so determined to keep going. Im not spending this summer hiding in baggy hot clothes again Sad

Keep posting keep going!

Whiterose23 · 20/01/2022 10:49

Well done to lechatnoir and it willbedone on your loses.
I had a bad Sunday, my girls have a baking subscription and they made 3 of the boxes. My willpower wasn’t great so I had a slice of all three followed by a glass of red wine!!
I’ve managed to pull it back but i’m not holding out much hope that I’ll lose tonight.

ItWillBeDone · 20/01/2022 15:01

Thank you.

Well done @lechatnoir, it's brilliant that you got back on track. It's so easy to fall off the wagon and spark a slippery slope...

Good luck @Whiterose23. I hope the scales are kind to you! Regardless, don't give up, you can do this!

mrsmacmc · 20/01/2022 23:53

4.5lb loss tonight 🎉 was shocked and stunned!

Whiterose23 · 21/01/2022 17:38

That’s an amazing loss, well done.

I lost 3.5lbs, I’m really enjoying the plan so far. This weekend will be off plan as we are away for my youngest daughters birthday so hoping for a maintain next week.

mrsmacmc · 22/01/2022 00:25

@Whiterose23 thank you, I know it's usually beginners loss so we shall see what wk2 brings.

3.5lb is amazing too and I'll keep everything crossed you have a maintain, enjoy your daughters birthday 🥰

ItWillBeDone · 22/01/2022 06:51

Well done @mrsmacmc and @whiterose23!

lechatnoir · 23/01/2022 15:51

Wow @Whiterose23 @mrsmacmc amazing losses well done. Not sure how I'll get on at weigh in tomorrow hoping for 2lb but night out could have sabotaged that! Just meal planning for the week and trying to mix things up with few new dishes - smoked fish, spinach & lemon linguine; chicken rendang; spiced prawn pasta, Cambodian fish curry.
I've just made a big batch of super speed soup for lunches and feeling ready for a good week.
Do you all plan ahead?

lechatnoir · 24/01/2022 08:43

Stayed the same Sad. But gutted tbh as other than one night off plan (albeit in a fairly major way drink & food wise) I've tracked every day, used my healthy extras & syns, weighed stuff and having what I thought were good balanced meals with plenty of veg & protein. Compared to what I was eating this is a million times better (& less) so feeling a bit deflated.

I absolutely will keep going & have the week planned but have come to rely on that Monday morning boost of a loss.
Hope other Monday weigh-ins are more successful!

Wilma55 · 24/01/2022 11:29

Would it be worth changing your weigh day @lechatnoir? Theoretically it shouldn't matter if its the same day everywhere but I'm invariably more on a Monday morning than a Friday morning.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 24/01/2022 14:05

Hi all can I join?

Was on it at the start of 2021 then have taken a break and clearly put all the weight baxk on. Currently online but debating going to a group. I'm really struggling with evening meals finding things we all can eat my children are quite fussy. Anyway, one meal at a time.

Height 5 foot
Weight 13 stone 11 😱
BMI 37 I think
Goal for now 11 stone 6

God it seems impossible

ItWillBeDone · 26/01/2022 15:05

@lechatnoir - staying the same is much better than a gain. Remember that!

I've had to skip my weigh in this week so will have to keep going til next. Slightly nervous but what can you do?

@Plantsandpuddlesuits, welcome and good luck in deciding. I find the group weigh in motivational. I don't actually stay for the group meeting.

lechatnoir · 26/01/2022 17:04

Hey @Plantsandpuddlesuits welcome - one day at a time Smile

What sort of things do you kids eat or not eat? Maybe we can help with meal ideas.

Wilma55 · 26/01/2022 17:21

Going back to pizzas I found a recipe in an old SW book which uses 145g pizza base mix. That is 6syns if divided by 4 (no idea how big that would be) The mozzarella is a hexA.
