@Plantsandpuddlesuits

For today's brunch we changed it slightly from what I had planned so Instead of Linda McCartney sausages, field mushrooms and poached eggs I did the SW egg wraps and put the sausages in with a bit of brown sauce then wrapped in tinfoil like a burrito so easier to eat. Flipping lovely! Would really recommend for an on plan weekend treat!
This is why I’m now saying what I have the day before

As menus do change

Heres today!

Breakfast....new meal idea I saw on YouTube. Sort of a deconstructed omlette. Ham, mushrooms courgettes and spinach fried off then make a little hole and add 1-2 eggs in the middle. That's it. Saving hex b for lunch

Lunch....tuna crunch toast. Toast topped with tuna with low fat mayonnaise, chopped red onions, sprinkle of cheese I also like jalapenos and gherkins. Grill until cheese has melted. 2 plums for speed.

Dinner....skinny chicken sausages 0.5 syns each. I'm having 3. With roasted butternut squash left over from yesterday, sprouts, synned gravy 1.5 syns per 100ml (from a jar). And a small portion of mash (aunt Bessie's so synned at 2 per 100g so will weigh out how much I have.

I'm only just back online after a huge powercut and loss of signal for days in my town, nightmare for the diet as luckily my hob is gas but had to try and use stuff that was going to spoil first!! We're back up and running now though so back to plan.

L - spicy butternut squash and coconut soup (2 syns coconut milk) with cheese on toast (HEA, HEB)

T - vodka pasta from the PON book (will be about 4 syns per serving I think) and salad

S - strawberries, raspberries, white choc light and free yog (1/2 syn) and a skinny dream bar (4.5)

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 02/02/2022 11:14

Snack....water decaff latte and some hippeas crisps love these only 3 syns

Lunch....same breakfast hash thing as Mon but with addition of left over chicken sausages so 2 chicken sausage 1 syn, butternut squash, mushroom, courgettes, spinach and a egg all free.

Still got my hex b to have.

Does anyone skip a hex b on a day and have 2 another day so still 7 over a week?

JingleAndTonic · 03/02/2022 10:22

yes the power cut wasn't ideal i suspect a gain is on the cards tomorrow but couldn't really be helped!

@Plantsandpuddlesuits for four (generous) bowls of the soup i always just buy the frozen butternut squash chunks to save cutting my fingers off and if i can get it the same with frozen sweet potato so you need:

  • either a whole bag of the bns or half and half with sweet potato
  • an onion
  • a large carrot
  • couple of cloves of garlic
  • i use chopped frozen ginger but it's not essential
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato puree
  • chilli powder to taste depending how spicy you like things
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 can of light coconut milk or 200ml of the coconut milk in the cartons as a cow's milk alternative, they are lower in calorie/syns but they're not as creamy
  • chicken stock

peel and chop up everything that needs chopped, fry the onion and garlic for a few mins then fire the rest into a big pot and top it up with stock until all the veg is covered and then boil it for about half an hour or until it's all soft, the carrot is usually the last to soften for me so just double check it's fine before whizzing it up, yum Grin

lechatnoir · 03/02/2022 11:58

B: porridge HEB with milk HEA and mixed berries
L: jacket potato and beans with salad with dressing 1 plus alpro yogurt 1
D: Carbonara with bacon (fat removed but giving it 1 syn as some flecks still left) egg and cheese HEB plus salad
Popcorn 4.5 syns

Out for dinner tonight - sushi so going to look up reasonable options.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2022 12:01

I must look for bags of peeled bns and sweet potato

I love them both cooked mashed or soup

A satsuma
2 choc chip cookies

S: pb on wholewheat toast, espresso, green tea

D: korma (made with cauliflower, soya strips and vegan yogurt), brown rice & steamed spinach

lechatnoir · 03/02/2022 12:30

@Blondeshavemorefun what are your thoughts on cheese (either synned or using an a) when doing a family meal? So a 4 person meal I should be able to use 120g with 30g being my share but is that too vague as portions are never precise and I might end up with more than 30g?

I always keep mine separate for sprinkling on top but unsure when it needs mixing altogether.

I do this and then freeze a portion I’d dh doesn’t want it

Guessing doing fairly equal 4 portions

So I wouldn’t worry

Or sometimes I make and add cheese once on plate

Tho I use low fat so 40g/160

@Blondeshavemorefun you can get ready chopped squash and sweet potato in m and s, Waitrose and Asda maybe more they are where I've seen them. The Asda one has chilli aswell it's good.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 03/02/2022 19:35

Just realized I haven't had my hex b again! I checked with my consultant and she says you can't skip one day and double up the next day. Hmmm

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 03/02/2022 20:19

@Blondeshavemorefun joining you on the carbonara tomorrow! I usually use cream so a change to FF yogurt for the sw carbonara might be interesting. We have ours with brocolli on the side and garlic bread for the children

@IDidntKnowItWasAParty your meals sound absolutely delicious!

Honestly @Plantsandpuddlesuits don't bother with the yogurt version - garlic, bacon, eggs, parmesan and lots of black pepper are all you need for carbonara sw or not (only difference is knob of butter & fattier bacon/pancetta but it's still damn good without these)

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2022 20:27

Well done on loss @Plantsandpuddlesuits

My wi is tomorrow. Hoping for a loss tho did have a curry

Grab some skinny bars 2 for b

Or nuts

I don’t see the harm in having 2 b’s one day if didn’t have day before
