Congrats on your great loss Jingleand Tonic!

wildthingsinthenight · 09/01/2021 17:39

Hope you're ok Troppi

For those that have it, would you say the Pinch Of Nom book is worth getting for SW followers?

troppibambini6 · 09/01/2021 18:22

Hi wildthings well done on your first weeks loss, I think it really motivates you when you have a decent loss.

I like the pinch of nom books in fact I got one in Aldi this week they had them for a fiver. I like the everyday light one, the original (the one I got this week) was ok but I felt like I knew all the recipes but I've been doing sw for ages so to be fair for someone just starting it would be good.

I also got these is Aldi this week they were massive and delicious. I made them with spaghetti and chilli a really nice dinner.

troppibambini6 · 09/01/2021 18:23

Oh because I rejoined I can't post a picture yet they were Argentinian red shrimp will post a picture tomorrow.

JingleAndTonic · 09/01/2021 20:10

@troppibambini6 sounds like the sort of thing you can come back from, think a lot of peoples relationships have been feeling the strain in the last year. I've wanted to rip DMs head off a few times because we're too in each other's pockets haha, so much better being with the parents than exDP though - we split at the end of the last lockdown but in hindsight he was an arse Grin and good news woof is on the mend! Any derailing is fine in my book, I see this thread as support for SW and the rest lol

@wildthingsinthenight welcome! well done on your first week loss, amazing! I really like the new PON book, some of the recipes are a bit out there tbh but most look good, I'm having a whole day of eats from it on Monday

I air fried my tattie peelings tonight after a friend sent me the idea and omg they were so good!! Tasted like crisps and no wastage of the goodness in the skin, highly recommend giving it a go, just chucked in the air fryer with frylight and salt

Thanks for the PON info.
FYI I've found a great account on Instagram and YouTube - The Slice Of Jess. She has a blog/website too. I've found it really motivating. She has great recipes and information on syns. Worth a look for inspiration if anyone needs it.
I'm going to try her omelette wrap tmrw with bacon and tomatoes inside. Will report back if it's any good Smile

Wouid be better if I did veg I like. Maybe will do frozen carrot bns onion

wildthingsinthenight · 10/01/2021 14:55

Afternoon xx
B - just tea because I slept in. Not feeling well today.
L- omelette breakfast wrap with 1 sw sausage, 1 hash brown (2 syns) mushrooms, peppers and a bit of grated cheese. (Part of hex) water
About to have a coffee and some fruit.
Dinner was supposed to be chicken meatballs, veg and tomato sauce and pasta but it might turn into a sw lasagne and a ton of veg!

wildthingsinthenight · 10/01/2021 14:56

Blondeshave morefun I avoid soup because I would need about 6 slices of bread with it Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2021 15:16

@wildthingsinthenight sorry feeling poorly. Speedy recovery

I resisted bread

Soup wasn’t great. But have huge jug of it :(

So will prob have a mug when feel Peckish rather then for a meal as feel cheated eating for lunch or tea and not liking

@JingleAndTonic omg. As doing a roast I tried Making some.

They are yummy. I added chicken seasoning which is .5 for teaspoon abs prob had 1/4 of spoon so didn’t count it

Felt like a treat. I love crisps. Have every day / be a good way to save syns x

troppibambini6 · 11/01/2021 08:40

Wild thing hope you're feeling better?

Those crisps look yum those who actifrys would you recommend them? I keep looking but they are quite pricey not sure if I'd get my money's worth....

I'm going to the dentist this morning half my wisdom tooth came out over Xmas and I'm not going to lie I'm shitting myself Grin
I'm terrified of dentists at the best of times.

L-chicken and sweet corn soup

Omelette, 1 sw sausage, peppers and mushrooms, 1 hash brown 2 syns. Ketchup 1/2 syn
Tea water coffee
Apple
L- plan is a pitta pizza with ham veggies and hexs for cheese and pitta and a big salad
Not sure about dinner yet!
X

JingleAndTonic · 11/01/2021 13:02

@Blondeshavemorefun sorry your soup didn't turn out how you wanted but crisps look fab, chicken seasoning a fab idea! will need to try that next because the roast chicken sensations are my vice lol

@troppibambini6 i love mine, i used to have just a £40 one from argos which i used daily until the bowl died a death and kept falling off meaning i lost half my chips (obviously heartbreaking but the dogs loved it) so i upgraded to an actifry because it had £100 off on black friday, i really like it but you don't need to buy the expensive ones if you're not sure you'll get the use, i feel like an air fryer is an air fryer 😂

L - PON spicy sweetcorn soup and a cheese and onion sandwich (HEB, 1.5 syns)

T - PON malaysian fish curry with rice and a poppadom (2 syns for poppadom, 3 for curry paste, HEA for coconut milk)

S - strawbs, apple, cheese (HEA) also had a slice of toast with butter (HEB as got the crustless bread so three slices allowed, plus 1.5 for butter)

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/01/2021 13:06

I must try an omelette wrap @wildthingsinthenight

Had another mug of yukky soup

All I can taste is peas 🤮

But the speed veg must help

OP posts:
JingleAndTonic · 11/01/2021 13:45

my soup was kind of unsuccessful too, i used frozen sweetcorn and it must have really thick skins on the corn because every mouthful was full of them no matter how much i blended it and i'm a right fusspot with textures 🤢 everyone else liked it though

could you add another stock cube to try and take away some of that pea taste? they can be quite overpowering in soup

wildthingsinthenight · 11/01/2021 14:42

Blondes could you try and make it creamy by adding quark or a laughing cow cheese or something?
But yes the speed will be doing you good.

I've realised I can't stick to a meal plan. I have to "fancy" something. So I'll write a plan then next day it goes out of the window Hmm But SW is good for that. Flexible.
L- changed it to a w/m roll hex with cheese hex onion and lots of salad and a packet of skips 3.5
D- will be pesto salmon and ved parcel with SW chips now

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/01/2021 14:49

I love seeetcorn but agree doesn’t blend well

When I go shopping I will but frozen carrots bns onion and maybe had a bag of brocolli
