Thanks Lou - I think I am the same as you in that I am really lazy but have been thinking of just going for a little walk early on the days I don't work (I only work 2 days). I have been thinking this for months - but have I done it? (No Sad)

Coffee, I know what you mean about the people who don't need to lose much. What do they expect us to say? If they feel bad in a size 14, how do they think we feel in the sizes we are? Some people have no empathy at all. Fortunately for me, the older I have got, the less I care about what other people think. Once I actually said to someone "Ooh, size 14 - that must be terrible" with a huge Wink At least it kept her a bit quieter after that! I think the best thing to think is that really it doesn't matter what weight anyone else is - you only need to interact with them for a short while each week - and not at all if you see them first! Grin

kaitlinktm · 29/04/2019 21:19

And by the way - a stone in 5 weeks - well done you!

kaitlinktm · 30/04/2019 10:27

Maintained today. I suppose it could be worse. Hmm

AnnieDianaLulu · 30/04/2019 17:03

Group went well, I'm glad the first week is done, I find that's probably the most awkward... don't like that I'll be asked stuff next week though - the group is quite large Grin (amount of people)

LouLou789 · 01/05/2019 14:12

Annie, were there a few new starters? I think there’s an extra influx after all the choccy at Easter. If you’re dreading answering questions in the group it’s worth his saying to your consultant beforehand that you feel uncomfortable with this. Good luck on your first week, don’t worry if you get a headache or bad wind..,all normal.

Hi coffee and welcome. You’re doing great! Whilst we’re all on the same journey Im sure those who are horrified at being size 14 have no idea what it feels like to be much bigger than that (like me) They often expect very quick results too whereas I know this is a two year process for me,

Kaitlin, good plan about the walk. Maybe now the weather is improving that might be more conducive? Well done on a maintain and let’s look forward to some more off over the summer.

While I’ve been off the wine I’ve been using my syns for Friit Gums. Trouble is I think I’ve used the whole street’s syns for Fruit Gums so have now counted them into little bags for a daily allowance.

LouLou789 · 08/05/2019 07:00

Where is everyone? Hope you’re all doing well. I’m delighted with progress (now I’ve got the Friit Gums under control 🤣) and have now lost 3 stone 10. Still loads to lose but am trying to focus on how far I’ve come rather than the climb ahead.

AnnieDianaLulu · 08/05/2019 09:52

No, there wasn't, it was only be and my mum and one other. 4 people joined this week though!

I lost 6.5lbs!

coffeecoffeecoffee4 · 08/05/2019 13:59

I maintained after the Easter week but lost 5lb since then. 19lb down, 47lb until I'm at target. 🙈

LouLou789 · 08/05/2019 15:53

Well done Annie and coffee, you’re both doing so well. I’ve noticed that although it is many a long year since I had periods to deal with, that every so often I have a few restless nights’ sleep and either maintain or put on weight, as if I was having (non-existent) PMT. I have to hold my nerve at this time and not rush out and eat 500 cakes. The following week always shows a good loss.

cushioncovers · 14/05/2019 21:07

Can I join you guys. This is my first week at SW. i weighed in at 17.5st and at only 5' 2" I need to lose a lot.

LouLou789 · 19/05/2019 19:12

Hi cushionco Wes you are welcome, sorry I haven’t been on, my husband has been in hospital following a car accident. Home now and gradually recovering.

Are you going to group? (I don’t go) How are you getting on?

LouLou789 · 19/05/2019 19:13

I mean cushioncovers, don’t know why it changed it, sorry ☹️

cushioncovers · 20/05/2019 19:37

Thank you. Just had my first weigh in and lost 4lbs. So I'm quite pleased with that. Especially considering I wasn't hungry and had 15 syns a day.

LouLou789 · 21/05/2019 07:39

Well done! Good to get a flying start. I felt quite impatient to be able to say “I’ve lost a stone” as sometimes the loss from week to week can be slow, but stick with it and it all adds up now. 3 stone 10 gone for me now. I’m seeing this as a 2 year project (I’m 7 months in) although it’s got to be permanent in terms of lifestyle change,

AnnieDianaLulu · 21/05/2019 15:05

I lost 4.5 this week, so I'm on 1 st 2 lbs lost in 3 weeks! Smile

Well done others x

JaceLancs · 21/05/2019 22:37

I lost 2 this week which is total 5 stone 5lb
Lowest so far
Want to get below 5.5 before I go away in 2 weeks

LouLou789 · 22/05/2019 14:30

Great to hear! I STS this week, but quite happy as my husband has been in hospital after a nasty accident, more or less stuck to plan but had one of two extras, with bigger portions.

user1466531167 · 31/05/2019 00:07

Hey everyone.

Everywhere i look on facebook and instagram i see that a lot of people are losing weight very quickly doing sw. Like "ohhh i lost 6st in 8 months" etc.
How??? I mean im happy for them, well done but why is it taking me sooo long. Its disheartening 😔
Yes I've lost just over 4st but thats been over 3yrs nearly. I have struggled a lot. Lost, gained, lost, gained and so on.
I feel like im plateauing all the time. I do change up my meals, i don't always use my syns. Ive tried to see a difference in using them or not. One leader said to use them all other said only if u need to. I get 20syns a day. Thats a total of an extra 400Kcals a day that my body doesnt need is the way i see it. I do use them when i feel i need something extra and thats obvs what they are there for.
I try to exercise. Love lifting weights at the gym and i go to an aqua class. So in all exercising at least 3 times a week. And walking the dog too. Struggle at times with my sore foot, weak wrist and torn ACL 😏(put me down now lol)
I wanna know how bigger girls are managing to stick to it and please share some tips.
Lately im losing inspiration and motivation. Ive lost over 4st but still have 6 to go 😭

Thanks for listening to me rant. Any advice welcome 👍🏼

JaceLancs · 31/05/2019 09:02

I’m struggling here - put 3 on last week and one more weigh in till holiday
Everyone keeps telling me to see the bigger picture abs how 5 stone is a major achievement but I just beat myself up - analyse everything I eat - I can be on plan all day n then end up with the midnight munchies

LouLou789 · 03/06/2019 07:37

It’s difficult, isn’t it, to keep the motivation going? Sometimes I just look at myself and think what a lump I still am, rather than congratulating myself on what I’ve achieved so far. One thing that helps is finding the equivalent of my loss, eg I have now lost a bale of hay (50 pounds) and no longer carrying that around all day. Just Google “What weighs X pounds” (whatever your loss is) to find your equivalent. Another thing is to measure yourself. I only measure my waist, but the tape measure tells me that is 8 inches less.
Slow loss: what we want is for things to be sustainable, there’s no point losing weight really quickly, if it goes back on the minute we stop a harsh regime. It’s got to be something we can stick to forever. That’s why they say use your syns. I also always think people who lose a huge amount of weight quickly must have been eating very badly before.
However, getting stuck is v annoying! Ideas are trying SP days, drinking loads of water, using your syns for different things for a while (eg instead of having a treat, use them in your meals in terms of a nice sauce or olive oil) You could also try varying your B choice, eg swap bread for Ryvita or granola. Above all, it’s changing things around so our bodies don’t just get the same thing over and over.
We can’t put our whole lives on hold “waiting” to be an acceptable weight, so it’s great to have other goals and interesting projects too.
End of preach, haha

cushioncovers · 04/06/2019 07:47

My 3rd week in and I gained half a pound 😫. Had pizza on one day at a get together with friends but was 100% on the plan the rest of the week. So feeling a bit despondent.

kaitlinktm · 19/06/2019 10:00

Sorry I haven't been on for a long time - somehow this fell off my list of watched threads and it was a while before I realised and went looking for it. Then I got a bit discouraged (again) and didn't know what to say.

I have stayed the same for a few weeks now. I actually didn't go last week because I thought - why am I paying nearly £5 to stay the same? But then I told myself that if I wasn't going, I would be putting all that I have lost back on.

I am not having stuff like chocolate or wine - although sometimes you can't avoid the odd meal out - but probably having too large portions or too much of what I fondly think of as good stuff - yogurt, potatoes, whatever - and not enough speed, and not enough any exercise.

Also not helped by the fact that I don't stay to group - I weigh in in the morning and then work in the afternoon. I did consider going to the group in the evening, but when I got in from work I realised why I had decided to go to the morning group to begin with - my back was aching and I just didn't want to go out. No, the morning group is definitely better. Maybe I will do better when I can stay to a few groups in the summer holidays?

Boysey45 · 23/06/2019 20:37

eeyoredebbie You look amazing, that's a great loss.

aufaitaccompli · 23/06/2019 23:24

I'm in if you'll have me.

Weighed in today at 20st 5lbs.

This is the start. This is me taking my life back, one pound at a time.

I'd like to get to 14 stone, then reassess. I'm 5'9 so hoping that will bring me to a good size 14.

I'm doing this for my physical and mental health. I'm doing this for my confidence and self-worth. I'm doing this for my kids and my family. I'm sure they worry.

I don't want to hide away anymore. The years are flying by. I'd like to meet someone special in the next year or two and want to be at my best for once.

No recriminations anymore. They're futile and counterproductive.

I've lurked on this thread for a while and am inspired by the camaraderie and support.

We've got this. Our lives are ours to live, in self-compassion and with positive intent.

kaitlinktm · 24/06/2019 11:47

Welcome Aufaitaccompli - the group has been a little quiet lately but I'm hoping it will perk up a bit. Are you able to stay to group? Alas I can't except in school holidays and I think it affects my losses so I would be grateful for any tips you hear at group.

Have just had a crustless quiche for my brunch and banana and yogurt - no syns so far although I do think I have too many bananas. Sad

Looking forward to hearing how you do next week!
