Teehee Kaitlin, that’s a rather unfortunate key to be sticking, what if you need a really good swear? 😉

Are you all having a good weekend? I’ve had some lovely time to myself today after being on a gruelling course last Saturday and having to spend Sunday recovering.

Another food health report out today about not eating too many eggs 🥴 I suppose too much of anything is bad, though 3 a week does seem harsh. I eat between 6 and 8 and week, how about you?

kaitlinktm · 17/03/2019 12:39

I eat loads of eggs Sad - I read the report too. TBH I justify it by thinking that:

(1) the eggs are helping me to lose weight and I think the extra weight is the greatest risk to my health at the moment anyway, and

(2) they keep changing their minds about eggs - my Dad was told years ago when he had a heart attack not to eat eggs at all, then more recently that he could and that the cholesterol in eggs was the good sort. These fashions in food come and go.

Glad you had some time to yourself Lou. I have a couple of weeks of being busy and a deadline and then I can have a bit of a break - apart from wrangling elderly relatives that is.

LouLou789 · 17/03/2019 20:31

Good luck with your busy time, kaitlin. I’ve got a hectic week ahead too, then it all calms down. Eurgh, sounds as if you need a lot of patience with the elders!

Re eggs: I am thinking that a couple of hard boileds is a lot more healthy than the family sized bags of crisps I was eating before 😀

kaitlinktm · 19/03/2019 11:20

Half a pound off - relieved really although it's not much. I haven't had a bad week or anything, just that it seems so hit and miss.

Hope everyone's weigh-ins go ok this week!

MummstoaMunchkin · 19/03/2019 17:21

Hey everyone! I hope your ok! I gained a pound, but i am ok with that. Ds had tonsillitis and has been a velcro baby and hubby was working long hours so i have been living on coffee and toast! So i am glad i only gained 1!

Katlin off is still good 😊

I eat so many eggs, they are like me easy go to meal! Damn!

LouLou789 · 19/03/2019 20:28

Well done, Kaitlin, another half pound gone, YEY. I know what you mean about the hit and miss, this eating plan definitely needs some forward planning and there’s not always chance. I’ve eaten out loads this last week (more than at home) so not expecting great things, a STS would be great, and indeed fairly astonishing. After tomorrow I have a week with no eating out, so back on track.

Mumma, it’s so hard when littlies are ill, no sooner do they get better then someone else in the family gets it. Hope things settle down.

LouLou789 · 20/03/2019 10:41

Stayed the same, hurrah! Although I make sensible choices when I’m out you never know if there’s oil in things or what every sauce contains.

MummatoaMunchkin · 20/03/2019 11:37

Lou thats good! Its so true about eating out you just never know!

I know! And he seems to be just catching everything going! He did sleep through (in his own bed!!) last night so i am hoping thats a sign hes getting better.

Its hard because i base my shopping and meal planning on the food we have and try to be good but im just not able to at the moment. I loose brain power and just revert to toast 🤦‍♀️

LouLou789 · 20/03/2019 22:10

I do hope he is truly on the mend Mumma. Maybe just try lots of fruit and some lean cold meat and microwave plain rice to vary things? Tinned tuna is brilliant too,

MummatoaMunchkin · 21/03/2019 07:47

He does seem to be Lou thank god! Hes still sleeping through so thats a very good sign!

Thats a good idea! I had stocked up in fruit but didnt think about rice i will have to get a few in. I cant eat tuna which is a shame as it would have been very handy.

Thank you for the tips 😊

kaitlinktm · 21/03/2019 22:52

Mumma - glad he is feeling a bit better. I remember how worrying it was when they were ill at that age. It does get easier, promise (well, until they're teenagers Wink ).

I usually have some packets of ham in and cooked chicken legs, also frozen soup to microwave. Having said that, I haven't at the moment - well I do have the ham but not the rest.

Lou - there used to be a pub near us which stated which of its dishes were under so many calories - it was useful, but they have changed their menu now alas. It's true, I sometimes choose the mash instead of chips, but it could be full of butter and heaven knows what.

I am glad nobody is too unhappy about their weigh this week - I think when our little ones are poorly it puts it into perspective a bit doesn't it?

MummatoaMunchkin · 22/03/2019 18:54

Its horrible isnt it?! The more i think about it the more i have realised i dont want him to grow up, learn to talk but thats it 😂 he can stay my baby forever! Im not looking forward to having a teenager! His tantrums are spectacular as they are!

I am a ham fiend we had to stop having it in the house as i went through a pack in a couple of days. But we did get sliced chicken and i was better so i think i will go back to that.

I went out with family today and as usual pictures were taken which i hate! I swear i am fatter in pictures than i see in the mirror 🙁.

I am going shopping tomorrow going to stock up on cucumber, melon, apples, grapes and things and wash and cut so all i have to do is open the door to eat. I need to get a handle on myself (again, again, again 🤦‍♀️)

I hope everyone is having a happy friday though!

LouLou789 · 23/03/2019 21:04

Great idea about the fruit, Mumma. Pictures, aaagh. Hate them. Although I have taken a couple lately, just to compare them to my “before” pic. I wanted to use a really foul one as a “before” but my friend persuaded me to use a smiley nice one instead as she said I still needed a pic that shows my personality too.

But is it only me who sees people’s pics on the SW Facebook pages and thinks I’d be glad to look like their “before”? 🤣

Yes, they grow up so quickly, and now I am about to become a grandma, the baby is due in 2 weeks.very excited. It’s a girl, so that’s even better as I had two sons (which is what I wanted, but it will be lovely to have a little girl)

Kaitlin, you’re right about the calories in some places, Wetherspoons do a section I think. When out, I try and save one A and my B for the meal as it gives more options. If its a lunch then a jacket potato with beans and cheese and salad is easy but main meals are harder, aren’t they? And even salad will involve a little slaw or mayo. I only have one meal out this week and that’s a carvery so meat and lots of veg, Luckily the “gravy” there is glorified veg stock. Hope you are coping ok with your busy time.

kaitlinktm · 24/03/2019 11:10

Yes thanks Lou - just waiting till Wednesday for it to be over (until the next busy time) although going to see elderly relative next Sunday which will involve work of a different sort.

I should have been going for lunch next Thursday but the person had to cancel and tbh I was relieved!

Lucky you having a grandchild - my children aren't even in relationships! Sad

MummatoaMunchkin · 24/03/2019 16:27

I went shopping and stocked up! Lots of fruit and veg and i had a healthy breakfast and lunch i am feeling very positive.

Your friend was right 😊 the before picture should be a nice one. God yes! I would kill for some of the before pictures! Hell even my own from years ago where i was convinced i was fat 🤦‍♀️

Awwwww how exciting a granddaughter! You will have to let us know when she is here! Will she be your first?

I hope your ok kaitlin and you are looking after yourself

LouLou789 · 24/03/2019 21:25

Well done, Mumma, having the good stuff in is half the battle. Sometimes I make a fruit salad and keep a covered bowl in the fridge, that would be easy for you to eat, even with Velcro Baby 😀 I’m really pleased you are feeling positive.

You’re nearly there, Kaitlin, past the busy days and just the visit next Sunday. Good luck for the weigh in!

Yes it is my first grandchild, my husband has six already and another on the way. We have been together 15 years and both have kids from our first marriages. I have two sons, 29 and 24. The youngest has only had one serious relationship (lots of frivolous ones!) and packed in his most recent girl as he is so career orientated at the moment. How many children do you have, Kaitlin?

MummatoaMunchkin · 24/03/2019 22:04

Its so true! We had melon and grapes for our dessert tonight whereas recently i had got back into the habit of having chocolate (and lots of it!!) i love melon could eat a whole one in one sitting, just hate cutting it up!!
I have the melon, washed grapes and some celery and cucumber in the fridge to snack on, velcro baby can stay velcroed haha!

Its surprising how quickly you get out of these good habits and slide down the slippery slope of naughtiness!

Awww thats so exciting! But yikes six! I bet christmas is fun!
Haha! You never know his niece might change him make him want a family. I am the same age as your oldest 😊

kaitlinktm · 25/03/2019 11:21

I have 2 sons in their 30s LouLou. At the moment they live nearby so I can see them regularly, but neither is in a relationship - one of them never really has been (well, not that I know of ;) ).

Not going to meeting tomorrow as I have to go into work earlier - so booked it off as holiday - and we all know what happens to me when I have a week off! Still, never mind it had to be done. Good luck to all of you. (I might weigh myself if I remember, my scales aren't too bad, maybe half a pound out because it doesn't measure half pounds).

LouLou789 · 26/03/2019 19:53

Great plan with the nibbles, Mumma. It’s defintely about planning and about having something easy (and free food) in the house.

We’ve changed Christmas to be money gifts, my husband’s grandchildren (this sounds a bit sour) absolutely wade through massive stacks of gifts, and it just doesn’t mean anything. Humph! Enough said.

One of your sons sounds like my youngest, Kaitlin, with the no serious relationships thing. It’s good they are near to you, though. Did you decide to get weighed today?

I have been clothes shopping! It was so exciting to try a few things on and I have bought two new dresses, a brilliant shower jacket and
a black lacy cardigan, it was in a Yours Clothing shop. One of the dresses was two sizes smaller, the other was three. Motivation!

MummatoaMunchkin · 27/03/2019 14:32

Helllooo! So i weighed myself on monday and i put 2lbs on but that is to be expected after nearly a week living on toast!
I have two meals out this week, so i am trying to be good but one is a posh place that doesnt really have healthy options and its a set menu so i cant change anything. The other is a meat place so hopefully ill be ok. But after that i will be able to be very very good!

I know exactly what you mean about christmas! You just feel disappointed when they have no interest dont you!

Lou that is great news about the clothes! I such a great feeling isnt it? It makes a world of difference

Its so weird i will happily go an much celery that is cut up in the fridge even if we have crisps or something in but fruit in the fridge i ignore!

Kaitlin did you weigh in?

LouLou789 · 29/03/2019 21:35

Hello everyone

I’m the same with fruit, Mumma, the only way for me is to make a dish of fruit salad so that I don’t actually have to raise a knife, haha. Hope your meals out go well.

Kaitlin, your busy time is over for a while, hope you’ve been able to relax a bit?

I’m having three weeks of no wine. This is so I can drive at any time of day or night re the baby’s arrival (it’s an hour’s drive) Will be interesting to see if it affects my losses. I will use my syns on Fruit Gums instead.

Wishing everyone a good weekend

kaitlinktm · 30/03/2019 11:41

Or you could have wine gums Lou! Grin

I forgot on weigh in day and now I don't want to jinx it - I have had a cold the last few days (started Tuesday night) and have felt very sorry for myself and have done nothing. Sad

I think it's going now, so maybe I will get some housework done.

Let's hope we can all stay focused this weekend!

LouLou789 · 30/03/2019 18:55

Haha wine gums!

Sorry to hear you’ve been poorly, Kaitlin, glad to know you’re on the mend.

And Happy Mothers Day to everyone for tomorrow.
