I might do that Lou - the syn bag I mean. However at the moment I am contemplatin doing bacon medallions, tomatoes, mushrooms and egg - all for free!! If you were here you could have some too!

LouLou789 · 11/04/2019 17:40

Yum yum! I’ve made some mini quiches today.

AllTheGlitter · 13/04/2019 14:41

Hi guys! Thanks for all your help and suggestions this week, I’ve lost 11.5lbs as this is my first week so looking forward to the journey ahead! I’ve found the biggest problem to be between getting home from work before dinner so I’m going to have to be disciplined!

LouLou789 · 13/04/2019 16:15

Wow Glitter that’s absolutely fantastic!!!! Well done. Just a littl tip. Don’t worry if you hardly lose anything on the scales in Week 2. After such a massive loss sometimes your body needs just to “catch up” with itself. Keep on, and there’ll be another good loss to come.

So, having identified your trigger time, what might help? My suggestions are an earlier dinner (which may mean some preparation the night before, to shorten cooking time) and factoring in a treat when you get home, whether that’s a couple of Babybels, a handful of delicious strawberries, a couple of slices of ham with pickles, or a FEW sweets (Werthers Original sugar free are 0.5 syn each)

kaitlinktm · 13/04/2019 16:34

OMG OMG OMG Glitter you must be over the moon - that is an incredible loss! This will give you such a boost. Whatever it is you've been doing this week - just keep on doing it!

AllTheGlitter · 13/04/2019 22:27

Thank you both! Yes I’m thrilled Grin. Had fish and chips for a treat tonight and actually made me feel ill and missed my healthy food!

I think I’m going to start having babybels after work actually as you said as I find it hard to use my HE As some days - one evening I just had 30g of cheese for a snack before bed (thinking about that, I did have some awful nightmares that night so maybe it’s true after all that cheese gives you nightmares)!

LouLou789 · 14/04/2019 07:19

Ha, yes, cheese too near bedtime!

We all need to find what suits us, and what keeps our losses steady, it will be different for everyone.

Still no baby news. But I had set myself a mini target of 3 stone before she arrived and I’ve done 3 stone 4 so I should be grateful she wasn’t early!

Kaitlin have you got some time off over Easter?

kaitlinktm · 14/04/2019 10:17

Yes I am off now until after Easter thanks Lou. Hope you can have a bit of a break too - baby allowing that is!

LouLou789 · 14/04/2019 18:35

Sadly, not a lot, OH is working GF, Sat, Easter Sun but will get BH Mon off. I am working GF morning but can have Sat to myself, and Sun will be busy at church. I may have to work the whole day GF if I have cancelled anything Wed/Thu because of the baby. So we will have BH Monday at least. Am a bit miffed, seeing as it’s a good forecast but anyway will enjoy some me time in the garden, and reading 😀

LouLou789 · 17/04/2019 09:40

Another two pounds off for me! So 3 stone 6 gone now, am really thrilled.

How is everyone getting on this week?

lonelywolf · 21/04/2019 16:19

Very late to join the party - hope you don't mind me intruding. I joined slimming world at the beginning of March weighing 16 st 4.5 lbs and have lost 1st 6.5 lbs so far. Only 1 pound lost this week but have been ok holiday so am quite chuffed with that. Currently weighing in at 14st 12 and set myself a mini-goal of reaching 14st by July. This would be the lowest I've been all of my adult life Blushit's really inspirational to hear how you are all keeping on going.

LouLou789 · 22/04/2019 07:40

Well done lonelywolf, you’re doing great! Of course you’re welcome to join us. I’m having a tough week foodwise as lots of family stuff is going on and I’ve realised what a strong connection there is between stress and “hunger” for me (pretty obvious, eh, over years of fatness 🙄) Am concentrating on sticking to plan, even if it means over-large amounts of free food and permitted carbs. All should resolve in a few days.

I’m not a chocolate fan but I’m sure Easter has been challenging for those of us who are!

Catwoman1985 · 22/04/2019 08:07

Hi! I am new here and joined mumsnet due to this thread. I am 22.6 so have an absolutely huge amount to lose. It seems like an impossible feat but I lost a large amount years ago as a teenager so know it is doable.
I am going on holiday in May so for now am going to see how much I can lose in the next 5 weeks for that! I’d really appreciate any support.

Catwoman1985 · 22/04/2019 08:26

Nope 22.11 oops!

LouLou789 · 22/04/2019 21:30

Hi Catwonan, I posted a message to you earlier but it’s disappeared. Welcome along. 5 weeks to go! you can do this, at least a stone I reckon, maybe more.
Let us know how you get on

Catwoman1985 · 22/04/2019 21:34

Thanks LouLou. My plan is to work towards mini goals to break it down into more manageable chunks: first a holiday in May and then another/ a wedding in August. I am glad to have found this forum!

LouLou789 · 23/04/2019 06:43

It’s good to have you here! I could do with support myself, I’ve stuck to it well for 6 months now, delighted with the results so far but a great deal still left to lose.

Did you do SW when you lost weight before? I know you said you were a teenager but not sure how long ago that was. I did it 20 years ago when I was approaching 40. Now 60 looms and I have different expectations, mainly wanting to do it for health reasons.

Catwoman1985 · 23/04/2019 22:52

I didn’t use slimming world as a teenager but did as an adult to slim down somewhat and it did work. I now need to find a group that I can get to on time!

LouLou789 · 28/04/2019 20:36

Hi Catwoman, how are you getting on?

This thread has gone very quiet! Hope everyone hasn’t got too side tracked over Easter,. I’ve lost another pound, so 3 and a half stone now, struggling this week but just about sticking to it.

AnnieDianaLulu · 29/04/2019 05:09

Hello,

I'm joining group tomorrow, so I haven't been officially weighed yet... but I know I'm around 22 stone Sad so I have loads to lose and would love to join! Halo

LouLou789 · 29/04/2019 14:35

You’re welcome, Annie, let us know how you get on at group

kaitlinktm · 29/04/2019 19:01

Am dreading weigh-in tomorrow - just checked back through my book and I haven't really lost anything since January, just lost it and put it back again. I gained a pound last week.

I will go of course - otherwise I will just put more and more on - but it is disheartening as I am not eating bad stuff or drinking alcohol. I think it must partly be lack of exercise.

LouLou789 · 29/04/2019 19:20

Is there an exercise you would enjoy, Kaitlyn, or at least not hate? Would you go for a walk each day and gradually build up the distance? have to say I generally do zero exercise but when I’m in bed in the mornings I imagine myself doing it 🤣😵 I did an arm workout from YouTube on Saturday, the next day my arms did not hurt but my legs and back did from the postures during the exercises. Huh! I really am lazy.

Is there a way we can support you, Kaitlyn?

LouLou789 · 29/04/2019 19:21

Sorry, Kaitlin, spelt your name wrong, apologies

coffeecoffeecoffee4 · 29/04/2019 20:54

I've just joined SW and feel a bit deflated. I seem to be the only person in my group that needs to lose some serious weight. Everyone seems to be trying to get into their size 8 jeans after gaining less than a stone etc. Someone was speaking about being disgusted in herself for letting her weight go up to 12st. I'd love to be 12st!!!! 🙈 I was 17st when I joined 5wks ago, lost 1st so far. My dream is to get into size 14 jeans, currently a size 18. Think I'll enjoy this thread. Feel a bit more motivated already. Well done everyone on your success so far!
