Hi

I joined last week. First time I have done SW. Anyone want to join me?

I weighed in (Tue) at 11 st 12.5lb (5'7" tall). I set my target for 1 stone, but would really like to get back down to 10 stone. Not sure this is doable before Christmas.

I started a new job 2 years a go and have put on 2 stone.

I am amazed how much free food their is. I don't think I have eaten so much fruit, veg or eggs in years!

Today I have had:

Breakfast: Branflakes and milk
Mid morning: A banana and 6 strawberies
Lunch: Rocket, sweet potato and feta salad with an ostrich steak (2 for £4.49 from Lidl, 157 cals and 2% fat), fat free yoghurt.

(Never had an ostrich steak before, it was delicious. It was in a Moroccan marinade)

Will probably have an omelette for tea.

Flutterby81 · 26/09/2017 13:01

That was meant to say good luck on your first week!

headinthecloud · 26/09/2017 15:42

Stealing your WiFi That's 3st off and also my weight and goal (and height)

Oldowl · 26/09/2017 20:04

Weigh in tonight for me: 2lb off. Relieved that it was more than last week's measly 0.5lb.

Now 11st 8lb, 4.5lb off in 3 weeks. It is going to be a slow process!!

Well done oldowl

christmasunicorn · 26/09/2017 20:42

Well done @Oldowl
Weigh in for me tonight as well - I’ve lost another 1.5lbs! I am mostly very happy although I do wish it had been 2lb just because I am now 12st exactly! That half pound would’ve got me to the 11’s but never mind, next week it will be c

Well done everyone on your losses. I've been good this week so really hoping for a good loss on Thursday.

Next weekend we have a wedding and staying with inlaws - it's going to be really difficult as they don't do healthy. I'm driving home from the wedding so at least I won't be drinking!

StealingYourWiFi · 27/09/2017 08:57

oops yes I meant 3st off not 2st!

woollisox · 27/09/2017 17:26

Hello, I joined yesterday weighing in at 11st 10. I'm 5ft 5.
I have always sat somewhere between 10.5 st up to 10st 10 (for the past 5 years!). I had DD 8 weeks ago and have lost approximately 3 stone since then through breastfeeding at the beginning and being unable to find the time to eat!
My target at the moment is 10st, but I also want to get into eating better again. I went all out when pregnant with the takeaways and now we're in the habit of having takeaways 3-4 times a week. Hopefully slimming world will make me eat proper meals and stop having so many takeouts.
Today I've had tea for breakfast, scrambled egg on toast for lunch and an apple for a snack, but tonight I've got to go shopping to stock up on more SW-friendly snacks.

FiloPasty · 27/09/2017 18:31

Hi I joined SW today, I'm 5ft6 and weighed in at 11st8.5lb I'm aiming for 2st 1/5lb in general to lose and hopefully 1stone by Christmas 12 weeks to go!

I'd eaten pate on toast with loads of butter before the school run so I imagine that's some of my syns (not got my head around them yet)
I've eaten a banana, handful of grapes & blueberries as a snack.
3 egg omelette with left over green beans & broccoli (these were from dinner last night so have butter on them)
I've made a big vat of vegetable soup but put too much garlic in it!

Have bought fry light olive oil spray, some gerkins to snack on, and some Salmon.

After lots of failed attempts I really want this to work this time.

mycatloveslego · 27/09/2017 18:56

Hello, I joined SW for the first time 3 weeks ago in an attempt to shift some baby weight, but only just discovered this thread!
I weighed in at 12st 6 and I'm 5'7". I'm on my fourth week and have so far lost 8lb so am quite chuffed.
Baby is 5 months old and I'm breastfeeding, and struggling to fit in all the healthy extra 'a's I have to have. I think after this I'll never eat another Babybel again!
My target is to get down to 10st by Christmas if I can.
Good luck to you all with your weigh-ins this week.

christmasunicorn · 27/09/2017 19:19

Welcome @mycatloveslego and @FiloPasty

I made diet cola chicken for dinner for the first time tonight. I really enjoyed it but dh and dc weren’t so keen so I guess it’s one for me to batch cook and freeze. Then have when they are having pizza. I’m enjoying the diet but find there is so little we will all eat (no surprise with a family of 6 though) so find myself cooking 3 meals each evening.

StealingYourWiFi · 27/09/2017 20:19

First full day today!

Breakfast: 2 x soft boiled eggs with half a tin of tinned potatoes fried in frylite with some Sriracha sauce (1 syn) and a chaser of strawberries and grapes.

Lunch from restaurant at work: chicken breast (skin removed), jacket potato, lots of boiled carrots and peas. 1 pat of butter and 1 sachet of mayo (5.5 syns).

Mocha from the machine at work - counting as 2 syns plus half of my HEa

Dinner: WW wrap with chicken fajita, cucumber, beetroot, sweetcorn, cherry toms and a little hot sauce and balsamic (2.5 syns) plus half my HEa halloumi.

11 syns total.

3.5lbs off week two so that's 6.5lbs in total.

Now the tricky part. We're away this weekend at in laws. Plus we have a wedding and I chose my food months ago - pork belly, chocolate brownie dessert and something synful for starter. Won't be drinking as I've decided to drive to ensure I don't drink calories at the very least. It'll be a blowout weekend but I'll try my best and let myself enjoy the wedding. Hopefully no gain next week then back to being careful again.

Sw is fine when I'm in charge of the food but a nightmare with others as they just say "oh you don't need to lose weight" and refuse to believe I'm overweight despite being a size 14.

raisedbyguineapigs · 28/09/2017 22:01

I lost 3lb and got my half stone award. I'm really chuffed about that! I haven't been super strict about it either so it will either catch up with me or I'm doing ok plodding along!

FiloPasty · 29/09/2017 07:46

Well done on the losses!

I also have a big weekend coming up on my first weekend, a friends 40th with an Indian meal before the party. I'm going to try to make good choices and only drink a few prosecco, let's hope I can keep up the will power.

I had a good day yesterday

Bf - 1 weetabix, SS milk with blueberries and grated apple

Snack - chickpea dip with cucumber batons (found the recipe on the other SW support thread) can of drained chickpeas, teaspoon of paprika, tablespoon soya sauce and some water to make smooth blitzed in the nutribullet.

Lunch - 1 piece whole meal toast tinned tomatoes and button mushroom, with frylite

Dinner - salmon curry in a hurry with broccoli, green beans and white rice.

Lots of water and cups of tea with the rest of my allowance.

Only day two and I'm awfully gassy! All this extra veg!

Good luck everyone

FiloPasty · 29/09/2017 07:47

Stealing wifi are the sauces syns? I used franks hot sauce on Wednesday and thought as it's under 50 cal per 100ml it's free. Do I need to count it?

Flutterby81 · 29/09/2017 08:26

Well done on the losses Smile
Was weak yesterday and had a sausage roll and mini peperami oh and two Jammie dodgers will try to make up for it with low/no days today and weekend!

headinthecloud · 29/09/2017 12:25

I've had a really bad week. Bad news all over the place so I've fallen off the wagon this week and gained 1lb 😓 back to it now though!

StealingYourWiFi · 29/09/2017 19:05

Filo I counted them but I used the tiniest amounts and just realised that balsamic is free anyway so won't count from now on Grin

Oldowl · 29/09/2017 21:35

DD 17th birthday tomorrow with 8 friends round for supper. Luckily one is a gluten free, vegetarian Confused so I am going to make a sweet potato curry with loads of free veg for us both, the rest will have chilli con carne and nachos.

Wish me luck trying to avoid the birthday cake!

So i joined on Tuesday and weighed in at 17st 5lb. I'm 5'7" tall so that's bloody huge! Biggest I've ever been, but after years of yo yo dieting and a very expensive course of Alizone which did work but made me utterly miserable, I know I can do it. The group were lovely, they have a great fb page, and I think I have found my tribe!! I didn't know what weight to set as my goal, but opted for 10 and a half stone, but don't want to get scraggy! Lol I'm amazed at the amount I can eat and have had fun finding SW recipes on Pinterest. No problems so far, but off to a 60th Birthday party tonight at a smart restaurant and have pre ordered my dinner. As the choices were made before joining I think I will need to share my starter platter and the cheese board after with the people sat next to me. Ha ha

BiscuitsWithEverythingPlease · 30/09/2017 07:47

Has anyone got any tips or can suggest good exercises to avoid saggy skin as i loose weight? My tum is big as im 17 stone, and i dont want to be left with a flappy belly ...help!
