Hi

I joined last week. First time I have done SW. Anyone want to join me?

I weighed in (Tue) at 11 st 12.5lb (5'7" tall). I set my target for 1 stone, but would really like to get back down to 10 stone. Not sure this is doable before Christmas.

I started a new job 2 years a go and have put on 2 stone.

I am amazed how much free food their is. I don't think I have eaten so much fruit, veg or eggs in years!

Today I have had:

Breakfast: Branflakes and milk
Mid morning: A banana and 6 strawberies
Lunch: Rocket, sweet potato and feta salad with an ostrich steak (2 for £4.49 from Lidl, 157 cals and 2% fat), fat free yoghurt.

(Never had an ostrich steak before, it was delicious. It was in a Moroccan marinade)

Will probably have an omelette for tea.

I signed up for SW Thursday evening, I have a 5 month old and the weight just isn’t budging anymore I weighed in at 15st 1lb BlushSad I’m hoping for a big loss this week to motivate me 💪

FiloPasty · 01/10/2017 00:46

Biscuits this isn't from a medical opinion but I think that you need to exercise lots and tone whilst dieting (or food optimising!)
Because if you do both hand in hand it's better overall.

christmasunicorn · 01/10/2017 07:12

filo I agree exercising will work but don’t rush into it all at once. It’s also a slow diet so I’d suggest getting your head around the diet first then once you feel you have the hang of it, focus on the exercise (body magic).
Had about 22syns yesterday Blush but went to a party last night and resisted the buffet and hopefully danced off most the damage.

Hey guys, I'm going to my first SW meeting tomorrow. I'm 5.10 and I think I weight 11.2 I'd like to get to 10.7, struggling to lose after having my daughter who's now 1 my son is 3 and I lost 2 stone through diet and excersise after having him. My motivation is limited ATM I have a PT just need to sort my food intake out BiscuitWineWink

FiloPasty · 01/10/2017 17:38

Good luck Millie, I probably drank 6 glasses of prosecco on Saturday night. Big occasion and in comparison to a normal big night out, it was good for me!
Was even accused of being pregnant as lots of friends saw me drinking water :)
I need to start on the exercise front, I've got into some very lazy habits, but need to get my head round the food then step up.

Flutterby81 · 01/10/2017 18:44

Good luck for your 1st meeting Millie been reasonably good this week so hoping for a nice loss on he morning Smile

caremummy · 01/10/2017 20:37

Rejoined yesterday:
Weight: 11st 5.5 target: 9st
When I first joined SW I was 11st 10.5 so glad I haven't put on all what I lost

Milliemommaof2 · 01/10/2017 20:47

Thanks filo- if your anything like me the drinking water instead of prosecco must have been a killer. Keep me posted on how you get on.

Thanks flutter - hope you get a great result in the morning.

Excited to join heard mixed reports although mostly fab in hoping it works for me.

Xx

Hello, thought I'd share a recent discovery of mine for those of you who love biscuits (my weakness!)
Mcvite's Digestive thins are 1.5 syns each and come in milk/dark chocolate or cappuchino flavours. So yummy with a cup of tea!
Good luck this week everyone!

CharlotteLouise1992 · 01/10/2017 22:53

I’m getting bored of making the same old recipes I desperately need to go shopping!

christmasunicorn · 02/10/2017 07:37

3 days last week I went to 22-24syns! Really not a great week so expecting a gain tomorrow. It’s my own fault and I know that but I’ll still be gutted. Really need to focus this week. 12 weeks today till Christmas and I want to be a stone lighter (at least!)

Raisedbyguineapigs · 02/10/2017 09:56

Ive had a really stressful weekend due to DH work issues. I had a mini Goodfellas pizza for dinner on Friday as no one cooked and a bottle of wine over the weekend. I'm thinking of trying extra easy SP for a couple of days this week, as I don't want to have put on all the half stone due to a lost weekend! We did have an Indian on Saturday, but I had the tandoori mixed grill and dhal and rice, which was lovely.

Flutterby81 · 02/10/2017 14:48

3lbd loss for me this morning very happy with that Smile

christmasunicorn · 02/10/2017 17:30

Well done @Flutterby81

Oldowl · 02/10/2017 18:44

Well done Flutterby.

Can some explain what the extra easy SP is and how it is different to the regular SW plan?

Thanks Filo. Exercise is the way to go! X

christmasunicorn · 03/10/2017 07:31

oldowl I’m pretty sure sp is just no carbs for the day. I think you are allowed your healthy extra choices but that’s it - just speed and protein. I may be wrong though so do check with your consultant

mycatloveslego · 03/10/2017 10:12

Well done flutterby! Weigh in day for me, 3lb loss so very happy with that! Been on SW for a month now and lost 11lb so far. Feeling positive about getting down to 10st by Christmas 🤞

Flutterby81 · 03/10/2017 10:32

Thank you everyone and well done mycat

Raisedbyguineapigs · 03/10/2017 18:21

Yes it is just speed foods, so all veg except potatoes, carrots and I think most root veg and all fruit except bananas etc. Half speed foods on the plate instead of 1/3 and half protein. Not that Ive done what I said I was going to do Grin

Giraffefreckles · 03/10/2017 19:19

There is a good article on SP plan if you google "how to do speed plan on slimming world" or something. You eat only S foods, P foods, HEXs and syns. This means proteins, most fruits (not mango, pineapple, banana and other high sugar fruits), most vegetables (not sweetcorn, potatoes, parsnips etc). You get one HEXA and two HEXBs plus your syns. It's a way of getting you off he pasta/rice/potato treadmill and is a pretty sensible way to go IMO.

Oldowl · 03/10/2017 19:23

2lb off for me. So 6.5lb in 4 weeks. Really pleased; getting closer to my half stone sticker!!

christmasunicorn · 03/10/2017 20:55

Gained 1lb which was expected. Nevermind, fresh start starting now.
Well done @Oldowl you’ll get that shiny next week for sure!

FiloPasty · 03/10/2017 21:52

Well done Old Owl, my first weigh in tomorrow morning. Normally I have breakfast when I get back from the school run, but tomorrow I have weigh in. Not sure whether to eat in the morning, or just eat an apple and wait, or is that silly.
Do you guys stay for the meetings?
