Hi

I joined last week. First time I have done SW. Anyone want to join me?

I weighed in (Tue) at 11 st 12.5lb (5'7" tall). I set my target for 1 stone, but would really like to get back down to 10 stone. Not sure this is doable before Christmas.

I started a new job 2 years a go and have put on 2 stone.

I am amazed how much free food their is. I don't think I have eaten so much fruit, veg or eggs in years!

Today I have had:

Breakfast: Branflakes and milk
Mid morning: A banana and 6 strawberies
Lunch: Rocket, sweet potato and feta salad with an ostrich steak (2 for £4.49 from Lidl, 157 cals and 2% fat), fat free yoghurt.

(Never had an ostrich steak before, it was delicious. It was in a Moroccan marinade)

Will probably have an omelette for tea.

Well done motherofdragons and Headintheclouds 3lb is really good. No one in my group loses 5lb regularly. We're all on about 2lb-3lb a week. I wonder why that is! Its taken me 3 weeks to lose 5lb!

christmasunicorn · 22/09/2017 18:46

Well done @m0therofdragons and @headinthecloud. 3lbs is a great loss

Kippersbear1 · 23/09/2017 08:30

Hi I joined last week, tried very hard all week to stick to plan and had very few syns. I've lost less than 1/2 pound.. what am I doing wrong?

m0therofdragons · 23/09/2017 09:48

@Kippersbear1 are you in a group? Keep a food diary (should have it in the pack) and go through it with the sw adviser.

Are you using super foods on a third of your plate to fill up on? I'm only on my second week so not really in a position to help, I'm sure more experienced people will come along.

Kippersbear1 · 23/09/2017 12:10

Hi motherofdragons
Im not in a group, I have gold online membership but I don't seem to get any feedback from the SW team. I could be I'm not using the correct tag as it's a huge site to get round. I keep finding new things to read. I wondered if portion sizes is the problem.... maybe I should count calories again to see where I'm going wrong. I do my daily planner religiously and I love the veg and fruit I'm allowed. I had my weigh in today but the only feedback I got was I'm doing well!

raisedbyguineapigs · 23/09/2017 13:44

I have read that you need to use more syns to lose weight sometimes, even if its all on healthy fats like olive oil dressing on salads etc. I wonder if I'd lose more weight doing that but I'm rubbish at counting them properly, so I don't have that many then have a large glass of wine at the weekend and estimate what I've had previously. Also, are you eating lean protein? Filling up on just veg and salads might be putting your body into preservation mode.

Kippersbear1 · 23/09/2017 21:37

Mmm I am having lean meat but not the syns! Thanks for the advise... I shall keep at it. Really encouraged by being on this forum ... thanks everyone 😀

BiscuitsWithEverythingPlease · 24/09/2017 06:59

Hello everyone, can I join please? I'm attending my first SW session on Tuesday. You might gues from my name here that I need to loose weight, and a lot of it! Never done SW before, but WE in the past, plenty of half hearted attempts at a diet that only lasted a week or two. But THIS time, it's for real. DH met a mate in the pub who is doing well at SW so he came home all inspired cos he has a lot of weight to shift too. So we are doing it together, which will be good. We love nice food, cooking and entertaining so the fact that you eat proper food and can have booze will be good. I stumbled across this thread and love it! Thanks to you all for sharing your tips and help. Apologies for the corny cliche, but, I am actually looking forward to 'the journey this time rather than dreading it. Thinking of it as a positive investment in my future heath and wellbeing. Bring it on! Good luck to us all

BiscuitsWithEverythingPlease · 24/09/2017 07:01

WE not WE... lousy typing cos even my fingers are fat! Sorry for the typos Smile

BiscuitsWithEverythingPlease · 24/09/2017 07:02

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 24/09/2017 08:42

I lost 4.5lbs at my first weigh in yesterday. I am super chuffed!!
Got a family meal out today - so will probably go for the sunday dinner - but not sure whether I can resist the wine and pudding/birthday cake. Well done on your losses everyone.

Oldowl · 24/09/2017 09:35

Well done Taffy.

I am following the plan to the letter but losing so little. I certainly have not felt hungry on the plan. Maybe I should cut potion sizes, but I am eating tonnes of good stuff. My worry is I will be hungry and start picking at rubbish again.

I need some tips!

I'm really struggling today. Had a jacket potato with cottage cheese and salad but just craving sweets! Going through cans and cans of diet coke to curb the sweet tooth. I lve never really had a sweet tooth before. Lost 2lb in my 2nd weigh in but have a feeling I won't have a loss this Wednesday due to a boozy weekend Blush

raisedbyguineapigs · 24/09/2017 14:21

I've stopped drinking as much as I did, which is a bonus, because I measured out my glass of red wine and 125ml is barely half a glass! So I went onto vodka and tonic but cant taste the vodka so I might as well just drink the tonic. I'm quite happy with my 2lb a week so far ( apart from the week I stayed the same!) Im not being super strict and going off piste at the weekend a bit but not too excessively. As long as Im on a downward trajectory Im fairly happy I think!

raisedbyguineapigs · 24/09/2017 14:22

Hello Biscuits

BiscuitsWithEverythingPlease · 24/09/2017 16:37

Hello raisedbyguineapigs. x

m0therofdragons · 24/09/2017 21:18

Today is looong. I used my syns at breakfast (pain au chocolat - 8.5 syns and Nutella on my HE slice of bread for toast - 1.5syns).

I've had poached eggs on lettuce and rocket with smoked salmon for lunch and full sw roast pork for dinner. Am not at all hungry but I want to scoff a whole load of cake for no reason other than its bloody lovely - don't even have any cake in the house lol!

christmasunicorn · 24/09/2017 22:14

playdough I love sweets so made thesee* fake Haribo bears this weekend. Though the recipe states it makes 50 but I followed it exactly and have 150 bears plus so much jelly left we were pouring it into any mould we could find before it set. Could’ve easily got over 300 out of it! And all for 3syns! Would definitely recommend

raisedbyguineapigs · 24/09/2017 22:32

I caved in today on the stupidest thing! I had a great breakfast a massive low Syn roast lunch then made ham sandwiches for the kids before bed with thick white bread. Just spreading the butter on made me desperate for one Blush and I can go years without eating a ham sandwich normally, then I had a slice of cake for afters for good measure!

OwlinaTree · 24/09/2017 22:45

Don't worry guinea, start again tomorrow.

Have had a lovely day with dh and the kids, been to a lovely park for a walk and lunch in the cafe. Last but one episode of westworld watched tonight, exciting times!

Seem to be doing well and sticking to plan at the moment, hoping for at least 1.5lb of this week to bring me to lowest ever since starting! That week I had a bit of a dicky tummy so I think it was a false loss, then I went on holiday Blush so it's taken a few weeks to get back there.

OwlinaTree · 24/09/2017 22:46

Oh sorry wrong thread, though this was the support thread! Blush

Flutterby81 · 25/09/2017 06:52

Raised by I don't exactly the same this week except mine was ham and cheese Blush I have had a rubbish week and haven't stuck 100% to plan which has resulted in No loss today but determined il be back on track this week!

caoraich · 25/09/2017 18:57

Gah. Had a good few days then went to a wedding yesterday and ate and drank like there was no tomorrow!
1lb loss at weigh in today Sad
On plus side I did to 2 solid hours of ceilidhing last night and another hour of HIIT today (no slugs) so meeting the activity goals!

PlaydoughBarbershop · 25/09/2017 20:52

Oh my days christmas they sound like a dream come true! Only have one more day until weigh in (Wednesday morning) but just feel like I've lost my willpower and just want to eat everything naughty! Had a crap day in work which usually means wine but have resisted temptation. If I have only lost 1lb or maintained I'll be devastated as this has been my toughest week!

StealingYourWiFi · 26/09/2017 11:38

I've just joined. I'm very active, at the gym 4 times a week and in a busy job but the weight has piled on. I'm 11st 10lbs at 5'4. I am very muscular due to years of weight training but I am carrying a lot of fat around my middle. My target is 8st 10lb so 2 stone off.

I ate leftover apple crumble and custard for breakfast Blush then joined online! Lunch will be at work so going to get a jacket potato with tuna and a big side salad. After work I'm going to the gym and dinner will be late so might just grab a salad from Subway or make something quick when I'm home. Tomorrow I can start properly.
