Yes I thought mushy pea gravy sounded disgusting but the recipe (from Slimmingworldsurvival) said "This is one of slimming worlds weird and wonderful recipes, you think it will taste and look funny but actually, is a perfect consistency and full of flavour. Nice with chicken dishes." So it sounded just the job. I should've trusted my instinct and given it a miss but I was desperate for syn free gravy!

No, it didn't spoil my dinner as I tasted it from the pan first. So I had proper syn-laden gravy. Oh well......the only syns I've had today but I was hoping to avoid any to make up for wine yesterday and Firday's Italian meal out.

Frouby · 22/01/2017 21:35

Gravy is one of the few things I dont do low syn. You can scoff so much speed when it has gravy on so the amunt of syns are negated by the speed imo.

laurieloo30 · 22/01/2017 21:37

Well I think it is fair to say my pud tonight was a success!! Absolutely bloody delicious!
The fibre one chocolate fudge brownie bar tasted quite yummy after being warmed up in the microwave for 10secs and the milky bar mouse frozen was just amazing! Took ages to eat and was soo creamy. I will defo be having this again. Quite syn heavy at 9 syns for the lot but totally worth it when you need that sweet chocolate indulgence hit!
I am weighing in in the morning! Second weigh in for me - quite excited actually (first time I have ever looked forward to a Monday morning!!) so fingers crossed!!

Groovester · 22/01/2017 21:49

My dinner was the chubby cubs recipe I linked to yesterday. It was really tasty. I did the cubed potatoes rather than the pasta version. Left the hot sauce off the kids' plates and they ate it too. My son had seconds.

Mushy pea gravy doesn't appeal to me but I'm not a fan of mushy peas. Last week I made gravy by boiling 2 potatoes, a carrot, some leek and an onion in a small pan of water. (All diced) When the veg is cooked add an oxo cube and them blitz it. Was a good consistency and tasty. I will definitely make it again like that. Was easier than faffing around with pan juices and cornflour like I used to do pre SW.

I went ff plan today. I knew I would as I was meeting friends in Chelmsford. Had a free yogurt for breakfast and a punnet of grapes on the train down. When I got there, the was pulled beef rolls, parsnip soup and chocolate cupcakes to be eaten. It would have been rude to refuse. I did manage to avoid the wine though. I texted my consultant on the way home and confessed all. She replied saying I had made some good choices with breakfast and NO wine. Will just need to be good the rest of the week and have minimum syns.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 23/01/2017 06:45

I wrote out what I ate yesterday and didn't press 'post'!

HEXa: semi skimmed milk.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans. 1 syn butter in eggs.

Lunch: HEXB wholemeal roll with ham and onion chutney. 1 syn in chutney. Satsuma and cheese and onion Pom Bears 4.5 syns

Snack to warm up after coldest walk ever: Mugshot.

Dinner: left over Butt casserole (!) broccoli and mange tout. Yoghurt and grapes.

Freddo: 5 syns

Ended on 11.5 syns

BasinHaircut · 23/01/2017 07:18

I'm so glad that 'Butt casserole' has stuck Grin

Second weigh day today, but not till this evening. After such a good loss last week I'm really nervous! I don't care if it's half a pound but I really want to lose something

I hope I've done enough this week.

littlecupcake · 23/01/2017 07:31

Good morning! Weigh day #2 tonight so I'm trying to be extra good today. Been on plan all week apart from an Indian takeaway on Saturday, but i tried not to overeat and stuck to the healthier bits where I could. 3 syns yesterday and minimal on Saturday (until the curry) so I'm hoping not too much damage has been done.

Please talk to me about these baked oat things! Made some last night with choc shot in the middle and used a Muller light treacle tart yogurt. Looks amazing but... It's so sour Sad Does anyone use sweetener in theirs? Would that make a difference? Maybe I'm just a bit too fussy...

ALemonyPea · 23/01/2017 07:48

I use sweetener and vanilla essence in mine. Makes them taste so much better.

I have such awful cramp this morning. Was going to go to the gym later, but will have to see now.

cupcake good luck for tonight! I know how you feel I barely want to eat today but I know there is no point in that as it will all come out in he wash IYSWIM.

I cannot stomach yoghurt used in other foods. I'm not a huge fan of it anyway, very limited choice of ones I actually like, but stirring through a curry? No thanks. I can imagine what you mean by tasting sour.

Breakfast is going to be weetabix and milk for HEXA&B this morning I think.

summerblonde · 23/01/2017 07:59

Whahaha. I'm a failure. I had the. It's savage period pains last night and ate a packet of crisps and a full box of mikado. I can't believe I've fallen of the wagon so bad!

BasinHaircut · 23/01/2017 08:05

Today is a new day summer! Draw a line and start again.

laurieloo30 · 23/01/2017 08:12

Morning losers!

Weighed in this morning and lost 2lbs.

Half of me is really pleased but the other half of me is really disappointed after my first weeks 9lb loss. I know it's stupid feeling like this!!
I am going to be much stricter on myself with the 1/3 of a plate being speed food with every meal.

Also going to meal plan to the nth degree to get those speed foods in!

Got a big team meeting today at work and going to wagamama's for lunch! Going to have chicken ramen as I think this is the best choice and will allow 6syns for any hidden oil!! My team like their puds so fingers crossed my stamina holds out!!

summerblonde · 23/01/2017 08:36

Thanks basin - that was meant to say 'the most' - really should check for typos before I hit post.

You're right new day. I'm blaming my hormones for that one - I was craving salt - it just took over me! I was like a zombie walking into the kitchen 😂. I'm still going to weigh myself today even though my stomach is so bloated. Right now, I'll be made up with a 1lb! 😊

summerblonde · 23/01/2017 08:37

Well done laurie Smile

BasinHaircut · 23/01/2017 08:55

laurie 2lb is a great loss! 11lb in 2weeks Shock

Better to think about the loss as an overall loss I think, and how much you might have GAINED that week if you wasn't doing the SW eating plan.

I think anything that is less than last week is an amazing achievement and a massively positive step towards happier and healthier.

DH has just weighed himself. He is following the plan from home - he refuses to actually join but needs to lose about 3 stones. He has lost 5lbs in 2 weeks. I know he is disheartened, especially since I've lost more so far, but I keep telling him that this is a long term change to eating habits anyway so it's not really important how quickly it comes off, just that the number on the scales comes down over time. I just hope he doesn't start secret eating again and gives it more time.

Groovee · 23/01/2017 10:03

Well done Laurie 11lb in 2 weeks is a great start.

OwlinaTree · 23/01/2017 10:48

Well done laurie. My weigh in is tomorrow, feel like I should do well this week as have been on plan totally except ribs at Harvester. And it was only a half rack! However, I have a two week cycle as such, and was a bit off plan previous weekend so that may catch up with me. Who knows? Jeans feel looser - do I say that every week?! Maybe they need a wash BlushGrin

summerblonde · 23/01/2017 11:39

Ladies, (and gents if there are any one here!) after my epic binge last night and with a bloated stomach.l I am about to do the walk of doom to the scales.

Watch this space.. I'm scared x 😬

ALemonyPea · 23/01/2017 11:48

Good luck Summer.

Laurie, 11lb in two weeks is amazing. You'll never have as good a loss in your first week ever again, it's why it's called the magic week. 2lb a week is a doable loss.
