It tasted pretty good too giraffe! From the SW curry recipe book. There is loads of nice looking stuff in there I'm going to try.

Trying a satay chicken chow mein dish tomorrow (not from that book), looking forward to that too.

alibongo5 · 31/01/2017 22:26

Congrats to all you losers - and all the lovely meals being cooked.

Well I lost 1 1/2 lb this week. On the one hand I'm relieved, given one bloody awful lunch with a squillion syns at a staff study day and then all of the rest of my syns on a very boozy weekend with visiting friends. BUT if it had been 1/2 a measly lb more I would've got my stone award so a bit miffed at that. Especially as (excuse me but I don't know how to phrase this politely!) when I got home I visited the toilet and would've got my award if that had happenede earlier in the day!

Oh well, at least I feel I have started the new week ahead of myself!!!

And Chelsea didn't lose - where is @chelsea26? Very very pleased with that so have allowed myself a glass of wine to celebrate.

PositiveAttitude · 01/02/2017 06:02

Ali I am similar to you. I lost 1.5lb last night and was pleased with that, but another 0.5lb would have got me my 4stone award. Weighing lady said "Oh next week" - well, I am off for a long weekend away where there will be copious amounts of wine/chocolates and everything totally Synful.
Why oh why can I not poo on WI days????? 3am today I did the dump of the year!! Blush

BasinHaircut · 01/02/2017 06:15

ali and PA how frustrating!

PA just think that at least you won't have got your 4st, then straight away got a gain after a lovely weekend away. Sometimes its hard to get back on it after a weekend off, but now you will be mad keen to get back on it knowing how close you are to that 4st. BTW that's amazing!

My cold has taken a new turn today, now I'm having nosebleeds. Going to work from home so I don't have to deal with them in public transport/in the office.

ALemonyPea · 01/02/2017 07:46

Obviously the week for being half a lb from an award. Let's hope we get them next week.

I was going to do chinese pork today, took y lovely costco pork loin out of the freezer, and the fucking cat had been at it through the night 😡£12.50 worth of pork. Little shit. So no idea what to have now.

Bollocks.

Been for wi and put 1/2 lb on. No idea why. Can only think it's with not moving around as much because of broken toe. So over the last 2 weeks I have lost then gained the same 1/2 lb.

Might need to do a few sp days. Today would be a good day as we are having stew for tea and I dont have the dumplings. And forgot potatoes so the rest of them can just have stew and dumplings and I will have stew and extra veg.

Hate it when I stall. Am so cross because this is still Christmas weight I had shifted. 3lbs I think to get back where I was.

On a mission this week. Toe a bit better so no excuses!

Have just booked a holiday to go the weekend after next which is going to seriously muck up SW! I have read the reviews of the hotel we're staying in and they all mention how wonderful the food is - 4 course meals every night! We will be skiing all day but in my experience that won't help!

This will be a serious test of me - I love, love, love the salad buffet Italian ski resorts always have but they're not the sort of salads that are SW friendly! I will do what I can. But fully expect to have a gain that week. So this week I really need to get a good loss before I go.

BasinHaircut · 01/02/2017 10:30

ali you have to indulge in food on a skiing holiday, it's the law!

In related news to pooing after weigh in, DH just weighed before and after one and lost 14oz! Sorry that's probably TMI Blush

I'm going to go and experiment in a minute with a satay sauce and marinade some chicken for tonight's chow mein. Needs to be less than 6 syns per portion that keep me within syns today.

alibongo5 · 01/02/2017 10:38

basin When you started your paragraph with "I'm going to go and experiment" I had visions of you going to the loo and measuring poos or something!

And yes, I think I am bound to indulge - both food and drink wise! I will have to ski like a demon to try to make up for it. You know, lots of turns and things rather than just sliding down the mountain!

BasinHaircut · 01/02/2017 10:47
Grin

Well that wasn't really much of an experiment. I just put 1 tbsp of each peanut butter, honey, soy sauce with 1 teaspoon of that squeeze garlic purée and that seemed to look and smell ok. 9 syns the lot so 4.5 syns per portion. Hope it tastes ok.

Just been invited out to curry night at a wetherspoons tomorrow. I'm assuming the curries are not SW friendly but does anyone else have any tips on what else I can have from there for 15 syns or less?

alibongo5 · 01/02/2017 11:09

I had a quick look and found this www.slimcalories.com/restaurants/wetherspoons/

Ouch!!!

Jacket potato looks the best bet. But I notice their steak isn't listed on there and that might be a bit more interesting option - you can have that with jacket potato and salad - though their salad has got pretty feeble recently.

BasinHaircut · 01/02/2017 11:15

Thanks ali, just found something on SWonline too. Shanghai noodles or pasta pomodoro (SP?) seem to be the way to go. Only 3 or 4 syns respectively and you can add salmon/chicken/steak to them.

Will probably go for the noodles (even though I'm having noodles tonight too) as the pasta sounds bland as anything.

So determined to stick to plan but really want to get out and see my friends too.

alibongo5 · 01/02/2017 11:19

Ooh Shanghai noodles sounds nice - something I'd be likely to choose even if I wasn't doing SW.

ALemonyPea · 01/02/2017 11:47

Commiserations Frouby and Butt. It's so frustrating when that happens. Good luck for the next week.

I am starving today, not sure why.

OwlinaTree · 01/02/2017 12:11

What a shame, frouby. Do you think you need to eat a bit more?

Me and you have got to go for it this week butt, we need a great loss this week! I'm going to try to have some different breakfasts and lunches to shake things up a bit. Any suggestions of what to try?

laurieloo30 · 01/02/2017 13:24

Hi everyone.

Trying to have an sp day today but really struggling already!!

I am really tired as baby not been sleeping well as she is full of cold and when I'm tired I just want to eat!! The weather doesn't help - it's like I want to go into hibernation mode Confused

I'm at work today and run out of food already. I can hear he vending machine calling me! Not good!! Aaaarrrrrrggghhhhh

Frouby · 01/02/2017 13:46

Possibly Owl. I can't eat breakfast, never have done. But am going to start having lunch with ds again at 12ish rather than taking advantage of him sat quiet for 10 minutes and doing a few chores.

Had a massive tuna salad today. Enjoyed it as a change from soup or hifi bars. I am going to swap my b choices around a bit as well. Stopped having museli and fruit with yog a few times a week so going to start having that again.

I do think it's due to not moving around as much as well. Foot feels much better so had a 'normal' day today of housework and dog walks and general pottering around and am knackered now! Have spent most of the last 10 days sat feeling sorry for myself with foot on a cushion.

Even the dog looks noticably fatter after only going round the block with dd instead of a long walk with me.

alibongo5 · 01/02/2017 13:54

laurie Maybe give up on the SP day to salvage an ordinary day instead?

OwlinaTree · 01/02/2017 14:09

That sounds good frouby, I'm having salad today. Was supposed to be soup but I'm not finding it so satisfying. Went for salad with chicken, bacon and cottage cheese on top. 1 syn for balsamic dressing. The leader said last night to eat loads of speed to keep yourself full, so I'm trying that this week I think.

OwlinaTree · 01/02/2017 14:11

Main problem I have with salad is it goes off, and I hate having to throw food away if I change my plans. Soup was better in that sense as I could make it then freeze it so no waste, but it doesn't seem to be working for me.

harderandharder2breathe · 01/02/2017 15:24

I stayed the same this week, 2nd week running. But I know full well it's because I eat crap in the evenings. Went shopping today so have lots of meat and veg so meal planning the next werk

Groovee · 01/02/2017 15:29

I've been reading up on my endoscopy and it looks like I can't eat from midnight. Gonna kill me!

BasinHaircut · 01/02/2017 16:24

Groovee don't they make you fast for 24hrs and take industrial strength laxatives the day before any more? If not then just take comfort from the fact it could have been worse! I had one about 12 years ago and spent the day before on the toilet and if I concentrate I can still taste the laxatives now Shock.

Groovee · 01/02/2017 16:37

Basin that's a colonoscopy. Mine is down the throat or in my case my nose. Would need a week to recover!
