Weigh in last night revealed I also stayed the same. Very annoying- I went out on Saturday night, stayed within my syns for alcohol but had what I wanted for dinner. But then I tightened up on syns Sunday and Monday to make up for it, and I had been under my syns all week too. I had hoped that after a bloody good week i could still lose a tiny bit!

Still on it though, just having a massive plate of salad as I could eat a horse today. How's everyone's day going?

ALemonyPea · 01/02/2017 17:27

What are you struggling with Laurie? I've just done a week of SP days, and once you get in to the swing of them, they're not too bad. Stretching your meals out with snacks in between using your B choices helps.

Was going to have salmon stir fry with butternut noodles, but bloody noodles have gone off. So annoyed. Today is just not my day!

Groovee make sure you have the sedative they offer you. I had a gastroscopey a couple of months ago and I stupidly thought I would be ok without sedative. Big mistake.

Not ate much today which is not like me!

Fruit, ff Greek yog, walnuts (heb)
Going out for a steak with avocado salad and a glass of wine.

ClashCityRocker · 01/02/2017 18:52

I'm busy making beef koftes for taster at group tomorrow.

Slightly hampered by the fact I've never made beef koftes before so not entirely sure what they're supposed to taste like, but they smell ok. I've made a garlic yoghurt too but may have overdone the garlic. Ah well.

knobjockey I tend to find when losing weight sometimes my weight loss doesn't necessarily reflect what I've been doing! It's like my body needs time to catch up. Not been doing SW long enough to notice this effect yet, but certainly noticed it in previous weight loss attempts. It can be disheartening though, I just remind myself that it will come off!

groovee just echoing buttwings advice. Dh had a balloon endoscopy last year. Started with no sedative, choke-screamed and thrashed about and they had to stop and redo it with a sedative.

muminthecity · 01/02/2017 20:23

I maintained this week. Can't complain as I did some serious drinking Friday night Blush. Still disappointed though, only needed 1/2lb off for my stone award! Same as lots of you, being 1/2lb away from an award! Ah well, onwards and upwards, will try harder this week. Won't be easy though, I'm going out for dinner Friday and Sunday!

Food today:
B - banana and satsuma
L - vegetable stir fry with noodles, yoghurt and a plum
D - tuna pasta and salad (2.5 syns for mayo)
S - mini cupcake (4.5)

No HEs yet.

BasinHaircut · 01/02/2017 20:42

Oh yeah groovee! Hope it goes well tomorrow.

Just had my satay chicken chow mein. Wasn't as flavoursome as I'd hoped so will have to rethink the marinade for next time. Had a fuck ton of speed in there though (onions, carrots, mushrooms, bean sprouts) so now I'm stuffed!

Happy and determined I joined Slimming World today. Excited for this journey ahead:)

Evening all!

Groovee I have had endoscopy and colonoscopy. The prep for the colonoscopy was deeply unpleasant. The worst thing about the endoscopy was the starvation (with the colonoscopy you can still drink til an hour before). I would definitely recommend the sedation! Not a pleasant experience but I was well looked after and recovered quickly.

WI for me tonight, 2lb off! I'm under 12 stone Smile Only 1.5lb off my 2 stone award now. Sympathies to those who've gained or maintained, very frustrating.

FaithAgain · 01/02/2017 21:05

harder that's a new favourite in our house. So quick, so tasty and really filling!

Groovee · 01/02/2017 21:18

I'm not offered sedation as it's going down my nose. Instead they will clear my sinuses. It's Tuesday next week. Will mess with my weighing in day prep!

Heirhelp · 01/02/2017 21:22

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining in. I have been doing sw for nearly 4 months and have only lost a stone. I just can't stay focused.

FaithAgain · 01/02/2017 21:32

Welcome Heir. Do you plan ahead?

FaithAgain · 01/02/2017 21:33

Oops! I was just thinking what helps me to keep on track is planning all my meals in advance, then doing a food shop with those meals in mind. It really helps me to keep on track.

Heirhelp · 01/02/2017 21:49

Hi Faith I do plan ahead but I am finding accommodating everyone's food needs tricky. I also don't always count syns and find some days I just eat out of boredom or because I deserve something nice.

laurieloo30 · 01/02/2017 21:53

Hi lemony - I think today with the sp day I struggled as having a 'hungry' day and didn't plan well enough for snacks etc...during the day so didn't take enough food with me. I held out and didn't hit the vending machine though (which for me is a massive achievement as before i wouldn't have thought twice and getting something from there once a day or twice or three times!!!
I managed to nip out and grab a bag of satsuma from m&s and ate a couple of them instead so feeling very proud of that small win for me today!! Must just plan better!

Got to go to London for the day tomorrow. Overnight oats ready for breakfast. And taking soup, satsumas and endamame beans for snack. Going to have jacket pots with beans cheese and using syns for coleslaw for an easy, filling and comforting dinner when I get home

BasinHaircut · 01/02/2017 21:53

Welcome goosey and heir. You will find lots of support here.

I agree that planning is the key. I meal plan for a week and then do an online shop accordingly. All well in advance of the start of the week. Make meals interesting and don't forget to plan lunches not just dinners.

A stone loss is great! Just keep going Smile

Heirhelp · 01/02/2017 21:57

Thanks Basin. I think the problem is I am struggling to make meals interesting. DH does not eat meat but eats fish and he needs a hug fat diet, the baby eats meat but needs low salt and no lactose food that she can pick up and I am following sw. It's tricky.

Groovester · 01/02/2017 22:07

Evening All,

I've not been on here for a few days but hope everyone is well. Commiserations to those who've gained or maintained. It's so frustrating!

I weigh in tomorrow night. I've been on plan but know that meals have lacked in speed. I've not been hitting the 1/3 rule. After 2 good losses the last few weeks I'm not expecting much anyway.

Quick question... I joined the gym last week and I've started as I mean to go on in that I've gone 3 times for about an hour each time. I've read lots about how this could affect losses. Does anyone have any experience?

Buttwing · 01/02/2017 22:08

Welcome goosey and heir.Smile

It can be tricky heir trying to accommodate everyone. I agree with basin, meal planning makes it easier. I've got 4dc and I try and make thing as easy as possible. I do things like make a basic tomato sauce and give that to the kids with pasta then I will add some chilli and prawns for us and I will have it with courgetti and dp with spaghetti. If I make anything that is freezable I will make extra that way I've always got something in that's quick to just throw in the microwave. That said sometimes all the planning in the world doesn't stop me reaching for the chocolate!!

littlepinkgiraffe · 01/02/2017 22:10

Evening all.

I've had a good day food wise:

B - WW caramel yoghurt (1) with an orange and an Apple
L - chicken tikka subway salad with a mug shot instead of sauce
D - pasta N Sauce (0.5) (was meant to be for lunch but I forgot it!) served on lettuce, cucumber and tomato.

Had another apple and orange as snacks. Have had 2 hifis as my HXB and have got some space raiders (6). So will be ending on 7.5 syns.

harder that stew looks really nice - will have to add it to next week's meal plan.

OneOfTheGrundys · 01/02/2017 22:25

I'm a slimming world virgin. Toying with joining to shed 2.5 stone. Will be online tho.

Any tips for beginning?

Groovee · 01/02/2017 23:29

Welcome Goosey, Heir and One.

A tip is to plan your meals. Pinch of Nom is a great one.

Stock your spices and herbs up.

Get a good bottle to drink water.

Read read read your books.

Eat 1/3 speed on your plate first.

Think about speed food for snackin on. Have boxes of fruit or veg in the fridge ready to pick at,

ClashCityRocker · 02/02/2017 07:14

Welcome goosey, heir and one!

My tip is remember speed should be replacing 1/3 of a meal, not just put on the side of your normal meal (I think that's where I went wrong last week!)

SpaghettiMeatballs · 02/02/2017 07:41

Hello goosey, heir and one.

LOOK:

Have to share this with someone! Lost 2lb so I'm at 7.5lb overall.

1st 8.5lb to go.
