Half a syn each.

ALemonyPea · 27/01/2017 19:07

Ooo Lavender. Porky lights are delicious. Half a syn each, so worth it.

I've had such a busy day today, had my pre op, rushed to do a food shop, cook, get kids etc. Had to eat on the go for lunch, onlynhad 4 syns, but I was hungry most of the day.

So close to falling off the wagon today. I was craving comfort food and wanted a big fat bowl fatty food followed by chocolate. But have settled for a plate of rice and lentils (what we call khichri) topped with a spicy yoghurt and aubergine curry. It wasn't 1/3 speed but at least it wasn't a pizza or a burger which I was so very close to.

Now just need to stave off the chocolate craving until bedtime.

BasinHaircut · 27/01/2017 20:34

Evening all. Just had a dinner of Linda McCartney sausages (the free ones), carrot, swede and potato mash (2syns, lots of speed), cabbage and the Iceland SW onion gravy - FYI preferred the one I made myself it was a bit too peppery.

I've still got 8 syns left for the day not sure whether to have a bit of dark choc or just have a low syn day as I'm worried I'm not going to lose anything this week.

TheImprobableGirl · 27/01/2017 20:50

Ok so after being REALLY good, I am going to be tested tonight. Already on my second glass of wine, (have planned for the bottle!) so have 15 syns left between tomorrow and Sunday.... I am about to use these on a Chinese! Anybody give me a heads up on what I should/ can have and what to avoid??

BasinHaircut · 27/01/2017 21:06

Get a chicken in black bean sauce for 7.5 syns I think (do check), and plain boiled noodles (free). Mix together for a chow mein type dish with only half the syns of a normal chow mein!

LavenderRains · 27/01/2017 21:20

impropablegirl chicken and mushroom 9 syns with free boiled rice.

Thanks for the porky light info. Half a syn is fab. Someone told me they were 5!

LavenderRains · 27/01/2017 21:21

Why can't I find porky lights on the app??

OwlinaTree · 27/01/2017 21:24

Try looking up Porky whites lights.

Buttwing · 27/01/2017 21:56

I'm going to try and find some porky lights I've not tried them before.

I've had news today that's made me feel really down I'm trying to put it in perspective and keep telling myself that people have much much worse things to deal with but it's made me feel really sad for dd and I've spent most of the day in tears. I need someone to tell me to get a grip!

B-coffee
L-chicken and veg soup (the last of it!!)
S-fruit salad, ff yog, walnuts (heb) drizzle of agave syrup
D-sirloin steak, tender stem broccoli and kale

LavenderRains · 27/01/2017 22:05

Ow butt so sorry, hope you're okFlowers

Groovester · 27/01/2017 22:11

Thanks basin, faith and lavender

I'm really wanting to hit 2 lbs next week so I reach the 3 stone mark. I'm worried though after 2 good weeks that I will possibly maintain or lose half a pound again. I know, I know. Trying to keep some perspective.

Not too stiff today after the gym. Going again in the morning. Trying to fit 3 sessions in every week. That's the plan anyway.

We had Porky Lights for dinner. Delicious. Really really tasty.

LavenderRains · 27/01/2017 22:41

Looking forward to my porky lights tomorrow now I know they're only half a syn! They were £4.99 for 18 which is good I think.
Today's plan
B apple, satsuma and hifi bar
D cheese sandwich (hex a & b) a load of gherkins, satsuma
T cottage pie with swede instead of potato.
Yogurt
syns; marmite rice cakes and hifibar
Butter 10 syns

Groovee · 27/01/2017 23:08

Hugs Butt

BasinHaircut · 28/01/2017 07:28

Oh butt, hope it's nothing too bad.

HELP! I keep getting on the scales and it doesn't look like I'm losing anything this week. I only want half a pound and I'm happy. I've got till Monday evening. I was so good yesterday. We are off to the zoo today and I've packed a small lunch to take and I'm doing a SW fry up in a minute to see us through.

Someone give me a virtual slap and tell me to stop weighing!

FaithAgain · 28/01/2017 07:49

this is why we only do weekly weigh ins. Right. Move your scales until Tuesday so you're not tempted. Focus on eating well - today sounds well planned to avoid temptation and like you'll get plenty of exercise! Then see what happens at WI.

Butt it's hard when we have bad news...not going to tell you to get a grip but do take some time for yourself today. BrewCake

I have an ulcer on my tongue. Everything tastes weird. I suspect it'll help with the WI though!

ALemonyPea · 28/01/2017 08:06

Hope everything is ok Butt. 💐

put the scales away!

I got DH to hide mine as I was weighing myself every day and getting angry.

I'm annoyed with myself this morning. Meant to take some porky lights out the freezer last night but bloody forgot. Will have to have a fry up tomorrow instead.

Hi all thanks for the kind words I feel a bit of a drama llama now as I know win the grand scheme of things it's not a massive thing at all and my god I know people have far far worse things to deal with. But school told us yesterday that they are think dd is dyslexic. She's only 6 and just finds it all so bewildering and confusing and I just feel so sorry for her. The sweat and tears we have sometimes just to produce a few sentences with the letters right way round is just so hard to watch.
On the plus side I'm hoping as it's been picked up so early I'm hoping that with some different teaching strategies in place she might start to feel a bit better about herself and her work.

Buttwing · 28/01/2017 08:23

Oh and baisin step away from the scales! No good will come of it! I weighed after to very good days (lots of soup) and I'd put a bloody pound on?!!! So I am not looking again til weigh day.

FaithAgain · 28/01/2017 08:23

Ah butt. I'm dyslexic. I didn't find out til I was 21! It does make life more difficult at times but with the extra support I needed, my grades improve massively (think D's/failing to C+/B's within 6 months!). Better to know and get help than not know. I also reckon I think differently to most people which makes me a better problem solver at times.

OwlinaTree · 28/01/2017 08:26

Can you chuck them in the microwave to defrost lemony? Hope you are OK butt. Basin do you go to group or weigh at home? If you go to group consider putting your scales somewhere inaccessible like in your loft or top of a high cupboard (assuming no one else needs them). If you are doing a weekly weigh in, at least take them out of the bathroom so you are not tempted each morning! I used to stick mine in the airing cupboard and get them out once a week. I'm out of the habit of a daily weigh in now so it has worked.

Had a challenge yesterday. The baby is still not sleeping well, and me and dh are so tired. He got home from work last night and said he wanted fish and chips for tea. Yum yum! I was so tempted, but I stuck with the planned meal of pasta and meat balls. I had about 6 of his chips just for a taste though!

Yesterday B omelette with mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese, raisin wheats.
L jacket with Chipotle chicken and salad (café)
S alpen bar, hifi bar
D pasta with veg sauce and meatballs, berries and yoghurt, freddo

Sounds like loads!

Visitors today and overnight, will see how that goes!

OwlinaTree · 28/01/2017 08:32

Sorry didn't see your update butt. Your dd should get the support she needs now. It will probably be slow to happen at first, but it's great your school have recognised it so young, gives her plenty of time in primary to develop her skills and know how she learns and what helps her to learn ready for secondary school.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 28/01/2017 08:46

Sympathies Butt, my DD was diagnosed as dyslexic aged 10 last year, the school had kept brushing my concerns off so I had a private assessment done. It is upsetting, but once you know what the issues are it is easier to help them. My older child also has SNs and I feel guilty that I was so focussed on him that I didn't help DD as much as I could have done, but they are both doing well now.

BasinHaircut · 28/01/2017 09:17

Thanks guys. Yes I go to group so don't need the scales but DH is doing it from home so needs them accessible. Will take them out of the bathroom though. They never used to be kept there for this very reason! But they have sneaked back in.

butt try and look at it as positive. The struggles she currently has should reduce as she starts to get the support she needs which can only be a good thing! She is lucky they have picked it up and are being proactive. My friends DD is almost 9 and clearly has a learning delay (not sure if that is the right term?) and she is getting nowhere with the school still in yr4.

Breakfast has got me stuffed so I'm feeling good about resisting an ice cream at the zoo!

Buttwing · 28/01/2017 09:35

Faith that's really really good to hear I've zero experience of dyslexia so any positive experiences are great!

Thanks everyone I think yesterday I just kind of needed a day to feel a bit sad for her today I'm all about the positive! At the moment they are still reluctant to say that she definitely is dyslexic as she is so young but they are putting in place some teaching methods they use with children with dyslexia to see if they help her and when I pushed the teacher she said she's displaying some quite typical signs.

She managed to do her spelling test completely mirrored this week, started on the right hand side of the page and wrote the words right to left. In fairness she got 9/10 just backwards!!!

B- two bowls of fruit and yog (starving this morning!)
L-not sure yet maybe an omelette
D-roast chicken and salad
