buzzmoon · 01/01/2017 23:02

Congrats Oriana!
I've eaten ALL the toffifees tonight 😔 Tomorrow is a new day!

LavenderRains · 01/01/2017 23:43

Hi newbies.
Well groovester I'm with you! !
Pizza last night, Chinese tonight. Chocolate brownies at work Blush
WI on wed which is very soon. I'm guessing half a stone back on.
need to get a grip very soon!

buzibuzi · 02/01/2017 08:02

Good Morning!
I hope everyone is well and feeling determined to stay on plan as I am?!
I had sneaky weigh in this morning (only day 4) and I lost 1 lb
I know its not much but im chuffed its given me more faith in this way of eating and spending fortune on all that fresh fruit because paying £2 for tiniest portion of raspberries out of season is crazy

SpaghettiMeatballs · 02/01/2017 08:11

Congratulations Oriana what lovely news. 💐

OrianaBanana · 02/01/2017 08:21

Thank you! She was 8lbs. We both had a bit of trouble after the birth, she in NICU and me in theatre/recovery and we spent Xmas there - but now we're ok (I hope) and home. With all the Christmas food we didn't eat over the festive period! x

FaithAgain · 02/01/2017 08:23

Congratulations Oriana and welcome back! Flowers

TheImprobableGirl · 02/01/2017 08:38

Good start yesterday, had s great day on plan (even navigated a mil visit and a trip with dc to macdonalds!) took some serious willpower, and then dp wanted 'one last night' with a takeaway and beer Sad

There is no way I can constantly battle him wanting 'nice' food all the time. Takeaway is definitely my weakness but he doesn't have to play on it!!

Skiptotheloo1 · 02/01/2017 08:50

First day of dry January completed (feels like hell of an achievement after the excesses of Christmas and new year). 10 1/2 syns used yesterday and rest on plan, feel positive that I'm back in the zone. Head down all the way now.

ALemonyPea · 02/01/2017 09:03

Glad you're both doing ok now Oriana 💐 I'd take a few weeks off plan, get used to having a new baby first, enjoy her.

I went to bed last night, Christmas biscuits and chops were giving me sexy eyes.

Wi tomorrow for me. Hoping to have maintained at least.

Welcome to everyone, new and "old"! Lovely news oriana - congratulations!
Yesterday was a better day for me although I did have a piece of chocolate log and custard for dessert so probably went over syn allowance. That was my only misdemeanour though.
2 satsumas, some grapes and a herbal tea for breakfast this morning. Ham and poached eggs for lunch with tomatoes and mushrooms and then probably spag Bol for dinner later on.
Back to saving my 2 hifis for my evening cuppa. Hex a is skimmed milk in my cuppas.
I'd really like to get last week's 1.5lb gain off again come weigh in on Thursday. Time will tell...
On a good note, there's not many Christmas goodies leftover (because I've eaten it all...) Wink

LavenderRains · 02/01/2017 09:37

I feel crap this morning. Feeling hungover but have had no drink!!
Thinks it's a combination of 2x13 hour shifts in a row followed by pizza, Chinese and late nights.
I need normality! WI on Wednesday and I'm estimating half a stone gain.

mrstomriddle · 02/01/2017 09:40

Hope it's ok for me to join?

I've been doing slimming world since August 2016. I've lost 1 stone 10 lbs. I've had some ups and downs but very much on plan after a Christmas of excess. I feel a bit disappointed in myself that's it's taken so long to lose 24lbs but really determined to do it now. I had a baby in May and have 3 under 4 so my body has been through a lot in 4 years!!

I follow a woman in Instagram who has lost 9stone since joining slimming world! I want to be her (although there'd be nothing left of me if I lost 9 stone!!)

I hope everyone has a good week! I weigh in on Thursday and hoping to get off the 4lbs I put on over Christmas 🙈

BasinHaircut · 02/01/2017 09:45

Congratulations Oriana, I remember you getting pregnant before I gave up so that's lovely to hear that all is well. Hope the early days weren't too bad, I remember the NICU days and it's tough.

Well today is the day we do a 'soft' start. I've got food to use up before we properly get going but have chucked out all of the Xmas crap and so challenge 1 is just going to be getting the snacking under control and breakfast. I'd got into the habit of buying pastries for breakfast on work days so I'm getting back to weetabix or porridge instead.

Just taken all of the decorations down, now I'm going to have some weetabix.

summerblonde · 02/01/2017 09:53

Back on plan today!! The Christmas tree is down, I nearly cried as pulled it toward the front door!! It was a beautiful tree. Put the lounge looks fresh and the sun is streaming through the window and I'm ready to embrace the new year and slimming world full on!

Groovester · 02/01/2017 10:53

Lavender I bet it's not as bad as you're thinking. Fingers crossed for you though.

emwithme · 02/01/2017 10:57

Congratulations Oriana and welcome newbies and oldbies!

Buzi you can lose the weight without spending a fortune on fresh fruit...I did. I have frozen berries (mixed summer berries, and raspberries) in the freezer at all times - they're great for overnight oats - and while I occasionally have a punnet of grapes or some chopped tropical fruit, I mainly eat apples, pears and satsumas (or similar little oranges).

Improbable If you've got takeaway lovers, then you need the SW Fakeaways recipe book - are you going to a group where you can get it at the shop? If not, let me know and we can sort something out (I will weigh mine and work out postage and then you can paypal me the cash or something)

MrsTom I was a slow loser too. Averaged 0.75 lbs a week...but I stuck to it and got to my 4 stone loss that I needed for target in November. I've actually lost 101 lbs in total from my highest weight in summer 2008 (7 stone 3 lbs).

I can honestly say I have been on plan 100% this year Grin I even resisted mugging DH for his Lindt bear last night (as is tradition, I ate my reindeer for Christmas Morning Breakfast) and had some satsumas.

Today's plan:

Brunch: Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms
Dinner: Roast beef, roast potatoes, roast parsnip, yorkshire pudding, carrots, cabbage, sprouts.
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

Back to work tomorrow so this afternoon I'm going to be preparing breakfast muffins and soup for lunches (and doing some school work as I have my next exam on Thursday evening - where's the "biting my nails" smiley?)

calzone · 02/01/2017 14:04

I'm back!!!!

I didn't really go anywhere but couldn't keep up with the thread and then fell off plan mid December.
Have been back on plan since yesterday and weighing in tonight, rejoining asa fresh new start.

So, Oriana......what have you called DD? Congratulations!

PositiveAttitude · 02/01/2017 15:05

Oh Em let me know how the exam goes. I did the online practice one yesterday and was dead chuffed to get a pass first time, but I feel that could be bad thing, cos I will feel the pressure is off for revising. Hmm I've still got a couple of weeks before my exam.

QueenofLouisiana · 02/01/2017 15:43

Can I join you?

I'm doing SW online, with a weekly weigh in at work- we all teach and never have time to go to a group, so we are doing our own version. We all hope that by having a weigh in where we share the (hopefully) losses it would help us keep going.

Anyway, I need to lose 3 stone- 4 would be better. First aim is to get BMI under 30.

OwlinaTree · 02/01/2017 15:55

Hi all, welcome new people! I'm back on plan today after a couple of days off, and a couple of days before that when I've been a bit on plan!

So far today
B eggs on toast
L leek and potato soup in cafe

I'm not weighing in till next Tuesday (10th?) so I'm going to stay on plan till then and hoping for a stay the same when I do weigh in. Fx! Think my dh may join me on sw soon, he's gained over a stone this year and has a fair bit to lose. He's been quite impressed with how flexible the plan is and how quickly I've lost so I'm hoping he'll give it a go.

LollipopViolet · 02/01/2017 16:25

Weighed in today with a 2lb loss and got my stone award! That was after group was moved to Tuesday last week due to Christmas so not even a full week :)

ALemonyPea · 02/01/2017 16:35

Welcome back Calzone, and welcome newbies. Lovely to see familiar faces again, November and December threads were slightly quiet.

Can't wait to get my WI over with tomorrow. Equally dreading it as have come on this morning, despite having a period two weeks ago 😡 So I know it's going to affect that.

Frouby · 02/01/2017 17:08

Welcome back Calzone! I have been off it since early December. Back on it today.

B. Coffee
L. Didn't bother.
T. We had left over turkey, gammon, oven chips, loads of veg and gravy. Not sure on syns. Probably about 6 as only had a few chips and a trickle of gravy.

Still got my b choice so will probably have some museli later.

Am doing dry January this year too. Hoping that helps!

BasinHaircut · 02/01/2017 17:35

calzone I was wondering where you were. How's it going? Are you still at target?

And Emily is she still around? Earlier in the year I think she was becoming a SW consultant?
