I thought I'd done well yesterday until I realised HEa is supposed to be used in tea and coffee! I had 200ml milk last night after drinking tea and coffee all day.

I've measured the milk allowance today and isn't going to be enough for my teas and coffees so I'll have to use syns for extra milk.

I've got to do my tax return today and there's no way I can get through that without several coffees. I shall blame HMRC if I don't lose weight next week.

ALemonyPea · 31/12/2016 09:18

Spaghetti, if you change your milk to almond milk or similar, you can have a lot more of it than regular cows milk. Arla BOB milk from Asda is 300ml for HEA if you prefer cows milk.

Weigh in this morning and I've stayed the same. I'm a little disappointed if I'm honest but I think that's due to a sneaky peak during the week that made me think I'd lost 2 pounds. Lesson learnt, no sneaky peaks this week.

Back on plan 100% from tomorrow, having pizza and garlic bread and wine today!

I'm going to try some SP days this week. Any ideas for vegetarian SP days?

summerblonde · 31/12/2016 11:25

Oh skiptotheloo I've made that mistake many times. Had a sneaky peek mid week and looked as though I'd lost. God to WI and gained a 1lb. Enjoy your treats today!

I woke up so hungry this morning. Better than waking up full and sluggish like I was doing last week.

Just had a SW breakfast. 1 bread, bacon, poached egg, fried tomatoes. Total 2.5 syns for sugar in brews, brown sauce and marg on toast. This will be a distant luxury come tues when I am back at work!

I'm thinking I want to make something tasty for dinner. Otherwise I get in the rut of salmon for tea most nights. Maybe I'll try a curry. I have lots of sweet potato in that need using. I'm also going to make and freeze some SW Butternut-squash soup for lunches next week.

Buttwing · 31/12/2016 11:56

Skip have you tried courgetti? Or the butternut squash equivalent? I used them on sp days and have them with chilli prawns in tomato sauce (no good for you!) but I've also had them with roasted veg mixed with my usually tomato sauce I make and a bit of chilli it was really nice.

Although I'm back on it yet I'm starting to think about what I'm eating rather than hoovering up quality streets. I'm actually looking forward to getting back in control of my eating. Roll on Monday!

Skiptotheloo1 · 31/12/2016 12:17

Summer, one set of scales and once a week weigh ins from now on! Treats were lovely but am full so much quicker these days (which is a good thing) so it has not all been devoured!

Butt wing. I have tried courgetti a long time ago with quorn spaghetti Bol and it was great now I remember. Looking at the 'rules' of SP I can have quorn mince so that's a good way to go. On the same front I can have cottage pie with swede and carrot mash ... oh the possibilities are endless. Thanks for the ideas.

Buttwing · 31/12/2016 15:11

Apparently swede and butter bean mash is really good, not tried it myself but others say it's quite creamy.

Buttwing · 31/12/2016 15:12

Also Quorn chilli with cauliflower rice.

Right I will shut up nowBlush

SpaghettiMeatballs · 31/12/2016 16:19

I've never tried almond milk skip. I'll have to give it a go!

buzzmoon · 31/12/2016 16:39

Hi all! Do you mind if I join? You seem like a lovely bunch!
Started SW in Sept 16 lost 22lb total. 25lb to go to my target and getting married in July so hoping I can do it by then!
Put 6lbs on in the 3 days over Christmas Blush but, got the sickness bug 2 days ago and am back to my pre xmas weight this morning! Grin
I'm impressed you're all back on it so quickly after Xmas, I think I'm going to have to start again on Monday will all the food still in the house!

buzibuzi · 31/12/2016 16:52

my family loves almond milk! have been having it for couple years now :)
I'm wandering if I will really loose weight I had massive dinner last night (turkey meatballs, mash and beetroot+ synned horseradish sauce ) and although 35g of oats for porridge didnt seem much I bulked it out with chopped banana and blueberries, have been snacking on satsumas I dont feel like im dieting Grin
we are having slow cooker beef & mushroom casserole that I will serve wit swede and carrot mash and lots of veg and may snack on carrot and hummus later
I just planned dinners for next few days all being syn freeor very low syns if you need inspiration ill be cooking:
pulled pork, sweet potato wedges, coleslaw
ham, egg, chips, peas
curry with rice, cauli spinach/ red lentis
lamb shanks slow cooked with carrot and cabbage, mash
'kfc', chips, coleslaw
steak, new potatoes, asparagus
burger parries, mash, tzatziki
slow cooker chicken, sweet potato mash, broccoli
fish, baked fries, mushy peas
cottage pie & veg

Anyway... Happy New Year ladies , I hope 2017 will bring you all success and happiness!

Buttwing · 31/12/2016 17:35

Buzi it's 40grams of oats now, don't diddle yourself!! You will definitely lose weight but the thing I've found really important is is making sure that a third of your plate is speed food. So bulk your porridge with strawberries and raspberries as these are speed and banana and blueberries aren't. It does make a difference swap peas for broccoli as peas aren't speed. They are little things but I've found it can be the difference between losing 1lb and 3lbs.

I'm off to a nye party with all the kids tonight wish me luckConfused

I have a feeling wine will be involved (and necessary!!)

Buttwing · 31/12/2016 17:36

Sorry and wecome buzz moonSmile

buzzmoon · 31/12/2016 17:56

Peas aren't speed?! 😱

Blankiefan · 31/12/2016 18:31

Nope. Peas are free but not speed. Same with sweetcorn.

buzibuzi · 31/12/2016 19:19

Wow Buttwing thank you for all your tips, Ill better amend my asda order!

FaithFromTheRealmsOfGlory · 31/12/2016 21:18

buzz peas are carby hence not speed.

I'm stuffed/proud! DH said he fancied curry tonight (opted for quiet night in). He suggested a takeaway - I said I'd cook. I did SW chicken tikka masala. It was gorgeous! I'd pleased I didn't get a takeaway and blow the syns! Happy new year! Smile

autumnbella · 31/12/2016 22:01

Over my syns by having two small glasses of red wine! Oh well it is New Year's Eve! x

emwithme · 31/12/2016 22:38

Peas are a P so you can still have them on an SP day although why would you, the evil little fuckers are far too round, green, and smug looking for me

Am absolutely stuffed tonight. Had our traditional Twixmas dinner of Rudolph stew (was actually bambi as I didn't get to Lidl in time to get reindeer), and followed it up with a little bit of stilton on a couple of crackers (the stilton is now finished) and then christmas pudding and cream. And I washed it down with two big glasses of red wine.

And I'm not guilty at all. Was 100% on plan the rest of the day (fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, big prawn salad for lunch) and will be on plan tomorrow too.

I am slightly tiddled though, I haven't had a drink for AGES and it appears to have gone to my head.

icklekid · 01/01/2017 06:07

Right back on it and need to take control. When I first started (only in October) I was really good and had 10 syns a day normally very rare to reach 15, now I'm really struggling not to snack on sweet things. I am going to totally detox on sugar again as that made a huge difference to my enjoyment on sw! Managed to only put on 0.5lb over Christmas which I'm pleased with.

My main meals are always on plan but it's snacking thats my biggest problem and wine . Think not being in routine of being out and about each day isn't helping. Am excited about getting to taget in 2017 though- 2 stone down 2 stone to go! 😁

summerblonde · 01/01/2017 08:12

Whahaha when a bit off track last night. A few nibbles here and there! Back on an today though. Happy new year all! Xx

SpaghettiMeatballs · 01/01/2017 09:02

Me too summerblonde! I did know I would though.... we went for Indian with friends.

The original plan was to start SW tomorrow to take account of that. I decided it was better to follow the plan from last Thursday with the exception of last night than eat what I like for another five days for the sake of one evening iyswim?

summerblonde · 01/01/2017 09:27

Exactly spaghetti I've eaten so well the last few days. I could have done some serious damage last week, but I haven't... if you're going to go over syns then an Indian is the only way to do it! We are having a roast dinner today. I'm going to do SW roasties and not have any Yorkshire puds and pile the veg high! Lets not let last night push us off track! Damage limitation today! Smile

SpaghettiMeatballs · 01/01/2017 09:35

It was lovely! I didn't have any naan as a nod to SW. Not sure that will do much to offset the chicken tikka masala though!

Off to a National Forest today for a long walk with the DCs. Leaving after an early lunch to avoid lunch in cafe. Will just get a coffee after our walk. That should help.

BasinHaircut · 01/01/2017 09:35

Hi All, mind if I join back in? I was around this time last year and lost 1stone between Jan-March then it all went to shit. Tried again a few times through the year but failed miserably. I need to weigh myself but am pretty much back to where I started.

I've not started yet and we have a very special night out planned for next Saturday so the plan is to start The week after. We also need to use up some bits and pieces from the freezer without needing to bin anything to stay on plan.

I'm currently umming and ahhing about actually joining a group this time, last time I just did it with an old book my mum gave me. What do you think?

Want to lose about 1.5 stones and I'm doing it with DH who needs to lose double that, but absolutely refuses to go to a group.
