New thread, ending 2016 with some great losses and starting 2017 with new goals and new people.

Thanks Lemony, I had a quick google and look at the app but couldn't find it! I don't have any dill but should be ok without.

Can't believe I've lost the book! I've put in a request for a fake takeaway one tomorrow evening.

Looking forward to dinner now and the fact that I have 10 syns left and have decided to spend them on 85% green and blacks afterwards Grin

ALemonyPea · 15/01/2017 18:06

I buy the recipe books, take a little, look through them and never make anything out of them. I've given all away as if I want to make something I just Google instead, and adjust accordingly.

My chicken dinner was amazing. Well worth the 11 syns. Nice and full now, and not even tempted by the Apple crumble and custard everyone else is having she lied

Joining the thread I have been doing Sw since September .. I had lost 11lbs however seems to be going backwards so refocusing now.

LavenderRains · 15/01/2017 19:01

Thanks for all the recipe ideas everyone. groovee that quiche looks lovely.
I've has a good day, apart from having a cold.
B; cheese toasty hexA&B
D; yogurt, melon, clementine
T; Chicken stew (all freeSmile ) mango pieces.
Haven't used any syns yet so will have some chocolate tonight, probably a curly wurly and a hifi bar

Oldwestaction · 15/01/2017 19:21

Thank you lemony the skyr one must be very new as I've not seen it in aldi before today. It's perhaps not on the app yet.

ALemonyPea · 15/01/2017 19:59

Welcome Starlight

OldWest, the Lidl skyr ones are free, so I'd think the Aldi ones are likely to be. The high protein skyr are 1 syn a pot though, so to play it safe, I'd say 1 syn.

Evening all, some lovely looking food on here! I ended up having a reasonable day on Saturday. Had egg, beans, sausage, bacon for breakfast, no lunch then ended up in the pub for dinner, chicken balti, chips and rice (Welsh style!). 2 glasses prosecco. Resisted the chocolate afterwards which made me feel more in control.

Back on plan today, so far so good. Back home now, stew, mash and veg for tea. 2 days till weigh in so fx I can stay the same!!!

BasinHaircut · 15/01/2017 20:46

Good day here if slightly low on speed food. Dinner was smoked haddock florentine - lush. Just tucking into 8 syns of chocolate and 2 syns on small glass of milk.

Been a good day today, although my dreams were dashed when I discovered the hartley sugar free jelly pots aren't syn free, but never mind eh Smile
I skipped breakfast.
Lunch - Chicken breast, carrots, broccoli, fry lighted roasties, gravy, yorkshire puds, stuffing ball - 13.5 with a muller light (treacle tart flavour) to follow.
Had a banana as a snack.
Tea - Pizza breads: wholemeal roll chopped in half (Hexb) with cheese (hexa), tom puree, peppers, mushroom, ham and grilled with ketchup. Was lovely. Another muller light, this time cherry bakewell flavour (was lush). Also had a choco-bon.
So 15.5 syns today

If the week goes as planned I'll have 60 syns to spend over Wednesday and Thursday on the course. Way I work it is if I have syn free breakfast (fruit and ff yogurt/weetabix and milk) and a relatively low syn/syn free lunch eg jacket potato and baked beans or salad, I could relax a bit at tea and not worry too much about syns provided I try and stay under 30. If I do go over massively I could always make Friday a no syn day. Friday will be a low syn day anyway I think.

My issue seems to be the sweet stuff - think limiting the chocolate is going to be a challenge but am looking forward to my 2 lindors I'm going to have tomorrow Smile it'd be easier if I lived alone so didn't have the things in the house, I live with my parents and they have absolute piles of chocolates, cherry bakewells, crisps etc but it's just a case of growing some willpower I think.

harderandharder2breathe · 15/01/2017 21:07

After pigging out last night, no crisps or chocolate in the house so no syns at all today! Won't last tomorrow when I can pop to the shop before/after work though!

B HEXB whole meal toast with part of my HEXA laughing cow light, an apple
L potato wedges, low fat quorn sausages, few green beans (not enough speed but discovered I can't face tinned green beans. A shame cause Im normally quite happy with tinned carrots, sweetcorn etc), a pear and a mullerlight
D rice and mushy pea curry
S quorn meatballs and spaghetti hoops

summerblonde · 15/01/2017 21:56

Pie - followed by a dairy milk and a packet of crisps well and truly off the wagon today. I am doing a job application though and it's sending me over the edge 😩

alibongo5 · 15/01/2017 22:58

Made the baked oats which I'll have for breakfast tomorrow. Popped a jacket spud in the oven while I cooked my roast dinner (SW roast potatoes aren't a patch on real ones though, but I'll suffer for my diet!). And made some curried lentil, carrot and chicken soup which I'll freeze for some lunches.

1 choccie biscuit - I was trying to have no syns after having too many Friday and Saturday but failed!

BasinHaircut · 16/01/2017 08:53

Morning all.

First weigh in tonight and I'm nervous and excited. I think I've been on plan all week, apart from maybe not being as speedy as I should have on 2 days. I've had 12-15 syns every day, might have even gone over on 1 day but within total syns for the week overall IYSWIM.

I was 12st 4lbs at 1st weigh in and I'll be disappointed if I'm not sub-12st this week TBH. After this first week though I'll be happy with 1lb per week loss.

DH (who is doing it with me but not going to SW) weighed himself this morning and he has lost about 3.5-4lbs. I was hoping it would be more as I don't want him to get disheartened but I think that's an ok start?

What he really needs to do though is read the bloody book. He is relying on me to feed him and that's where he went wrong last time as he doesn't understand what he can have outside of meals or when I'm not providing them. I might sit him down and do him a sort of new members talk Grin

summerblonde · 16/01/2017 10:17

I'm back on it today after my 'treat day' yesterday. I am WI at lunch I am hoping there won't be too much for a detrimental impact.. only time will tell.

HEXA - 250 semi skimmed milk
HEXB - 2 x 400g wholemeal.

B - 2 x poached eggs on wholemeal. 1 syn for marg.

L - salmon, rocket, red pepper, tomatoes, 1.5 syn for salad cream. 2 satsumas. Activia yogurt.

D - not sure yet!

Happy Monday!

Morning all Smile

Day 1 of no sugar for me

B- bacon, spinach, mushrooms and poached eggs
L-Chicken tikka chicken thighs with salad
D- spicy prawn courgetti and Greek yogurt, walnuts and a drizzle of agave nectar for dessert.

I'm not sure if I'm ok to have agave nectar but as its natural and comes from a plant I'm saying yes!
I'm really going to try and have a decent breakfast as I usually just grab a banana, I really enjoyed it today.

TheImprobableGirl · 16/01/2017 10:42

Am umming and aahing about whether to join a group next week or not... not sure if it will just be a fiver down the drain or if it will keep me extra motivated? Sad feel really positive during the week and then eleventy million syns later after the weekend I've crept back up to starting weight! Still ok on inch loss because of all the exercise I've been doing but wonder about wasting a fiver a week :(

FlyingFordAnglia · 16/01/2017 10:57

Hi. Thought I'd hop on the thread if that's ok?! Did slimming world 2015 to loose 2 st before my holiday and wedding. Had half of last year off as came back from holiday pregnant with DS2 which I do believe was helped along by my weight loss.
Now properly back on plan, second weigh in tomorrow.
I've done really well so far, 2 weeks fully on plan so hoping for another loss tomorrow.

summerblonde · 16/01/2017 12:03

Only lost another 1lb 😩😩😩😩.

Really really disappointed, I feel like crying which may suggest it's hormonal!

I'm gutted, I've been so good all week. Once apart from last night.

It's half a stone in 3 weeks, but still. I feel like sacking it all off.

alibongo5 · 16/01/2017 12:29

On @summerblonde, don't be disheartened. Have you seen what a pound of fat looks like? And a weigh in is only a snapshot at that particular moment. Someone in my group who had just reached target was devastated that the next week she had put on 2 or 3 lb! but then the next, she lost 8! It can all depend on so many variables you have to keep in mind the bigger picture which is that you've lost half a bloody stone in three weeks!

BasinHaircut · 16/01/2017 12:33

Don't be disheartened summer, it was a loss! Even though you pretty much had a day off so that sounds good to me!

summerblonde · 16/01/2017 12:35

Oh thank you alibong those are the words I needed to hear - this thread really keeps me going.

I've just trudged back to the office in the rain feeling very sorry for myself!! This HAS to be PMT.

Wow that's amazing - stories like that make me what to stay on plan. I think I had it in my head as I'd only 1lb last week that this week would be 'my week'. Hey ho, onwards and upwards.

I'm holding on to this right now...

summerblonde · 16/01/2017 12:37

Thanks Basin - and yes I did pretty much have a day off and only yesterday. I guess those days off can really make a difference. Even if I try to pretend it didn't happen. Lesson learnt 😊.

TheImprobableGirl · 16/01/2017 13:02

It's crap summer that you feel bad, but remember you are on the way down- and you will never see that particular pound again! It is disheartening but maybe will result in a good loss next week too- keep up with the food diarys too- they can show sneaky extra syns etc!

TheImprobableGirl · 16/01/2017 13:03

Made some green Thai veg noodles today; delicious and only 1 syn for the Thai green curry paste!
