PositiveAttitude · 14/01/2017 20:19

Sick bug has hit the Positive household and yesterday/today was my turn! I have had a sofa and PJ day feeling lousy. Late afternoon I started to feel I wanted to eat something, but all I fancied was chocolate. Why oh why??? I would never want chocolate after being ill normally, so why is my body being so cruel to me and making me crave it at the worst possible time. Anyway, I have just had some bland chicken and potato with a little salad and finished off with a hifi bar which has satisfied those cravings a bit
Hopefully I will be back to normal tomorrow.

BasinHaircut · 14/01/2017 20:29

Oh no positive hope you are feeling a bit better!

Good day here provided I don't eat anything else.

B: weetabix and milk (HEXA HEXB), coffee 2 sugars (2syns)
L: onion omelette with 3syns cheddar, carrot chips (2syns oil) and spaghetti hoops.
Sn: snack a jack (2syns), pear
D: spag Bol (2 syns for mince as it was 10% fat), Parmesan (3syns)

14 syns to finish.

Frouby · 14/01/2017 20:35

Had a meal change as dp has a hangover therefore been grazing all day therefore wasn't looking thrilled at the thought of making steak for tea.

So I said he could raid the fridge (again) for sandwiches/toast/cheese and biscuits and I would make my own tea.

So I cobbled together a roasted veg pasta. IT WAS DEVINE! I don't normally brag about recipes but pin your eyelids back and have a look at this speedy, gorgeous quick dish.

Tray of veggies for roasting. The ones you buy from the supermarket. Mine had cherry tomatoes, red onion, green and yellow pepper, courgette if you want to chop your own. Roast as per instructions. Or wang it in for about 30 mins on 200.

Cook your pasta.

Once your veg is cooked squirt about 2 inch of tomato puree on and tear up 1/2 ball of low fat mozzarella (3 syns or 1/2 hea) on top of the veg/puree. Wang it back in the oven until your mozzarella is all bubbly.

Drain your pasta, combine with the veg and cheese mix, salt and pepper and serve.

It was gorgeous and far too nice to be slimming food. You could have salad on the side for extra veg. You could chuck a bit of chorizo in or some ham or cooked chicken. Or salmon or even prawns.

Will definitely be doing it again. And it was really simple and just 1 pan to wash!

ALemonyPea · 14/01/2017 20:47

Hope everyone is better soon PA.

Welcome 1995. I've lost almost 6 stone since April, I want to lose another 1.5 stone, so it is possible.

That dish sounds lovely Frouby, will have to give it a go.

OP posts:
Frouby · 14/01/2017 20:53

It was lemony. I thought it would be a bit dry but the veg went all squishy and I left a tiny bit of the pasta water in the pan and the juices from the veg sort of combined with that so it was nice and juicy.

summerblonde · 14/01/2017 20:58

Hope everyone gets better PA!

Frouby I've taken a screenshot your recipe and will definitely give it a go 😊. 3syns for half a ball of reduced fat mozzarella, I didn't know that. Yum yum.

Blankiefan · 14/01/2017 21:24

Whoops. I've just fallen head-first into leftover Xmas chocs. The challenge now is to pull it together again tomorrow rather than just stuffing it til next WI (Monday evening).

BasinHaircut · 14/01/2017 21:33

Good idea summer I've taken a screenshot too!

BasinHaircut · 15/01/2017 08:22

Morning all

I feel like a million dollars today as DS decided to allow me a full night's sleep!

Have started the day with a bowl of porridge, with 2 teaspoons fo sugar (HEXA AND B and 2 syns).

Am going to make a dahl for lunch. I've never made it before but looks yummy.

Going to get out in the fresh air for a walk with DH and DS this morning too.

summerblonde · 15/01/2017 08:28

Morning all,

basin congrats on being granted a full nights sleep, there is no greater gift 😊.

Just going to whizz out this weeks ironing and then I'll make some breakfast. I've woken up starving, just having a brew to tide me over. My plan was also to take DD to the park for a whizz in her new scooter - but we've woke up to a very rainy day where we are. 😩

Happy Sunday!

breadandcircuses · 15/01/2017 09:52

Morning everyone! I've been enjoying everyone's successes and lovely meals quietly as this week has been a total disaster for me SW wise although v nice in other ways! Daughters birthday so Dominos and a meal out, wine all week, Xmas cheese and chocolate, plus it's my TOTM! No wonder I put on 2lb.

Determined to do better this week- it's a more 'normal' one so should be easier! I'd better sort it out as DH 50th birthday next week so another lovely-but-tricky one.

ALemonyPea · 15/01/2017 10:03

Hurray on a good nights sleep Basin.

Just in case anyone is tempted to try, quark in scrambled eggs is not very nice. Don't try it.

Another delightful day of kitchen shopping today, shoot me now.

B: scrambled eggs, cheesy marmite mushrooms
D: maybe soup
T: roast chicken dinner, with 10 syns worth of trimmings. Cannot wait.

OP posts:
BasinHaircut · 15/01/2017 10:24

Ohh lemony I loved kitchen shopping! As long as we left DS with someone else first!

Love my kitchen now and love being in here and cooking et mc it's set up just right for me. ''Tis making the healthy eating so much easier I think.

Dahl is made but I'm not sure about it. Will report back after lunch. Do lentils always taste a bit gritty or are they undercooked?

Frouby · 15/01/2017 10:47

Morning all

Lemony kitchen shopping would be my dream way to to spend my time. I love pootling around tk max and kitchen ware shops. I would have to do it without dp though. I would pick, price and source it all then present him with the finished plan. He is useless at shopping. He wants to be in and out in the minimum time possible lol.

Also woken up to rain so having a pottering around the house kind of day. Foodwise it's a Sunday roast later so everyone will just pick at bits until then. Apart from using spray oil on my veg and not having a Yorkshire pudding I dont do much different to my roasts.

They are too special to mess with. And I don't think I got fat from eating too many sunday dinners.

randomeragain · 15/01/2017 13:37

greetings gang..when I'm not moaning about the silly groups I will be giving it a good go.

Oldwestaction · 15/01/2017 13:51

Hey fellow slimming worlders! I'm following the plan my self from home. former target member with nearly 2 stone to loose Blush
I don't have access to the app as not going to group so would anyone be willing to check out a couple of syn values for me please? I've looked online but think they're quite new products so the syns are not on any of the Sw pages/sites I normally look on.
Aldi brooklea skyr yogurt (they're fat free and really thick and delicious so hoping they're free or very low!)
Also, aldi brooklea 0% Greek style yoghurt (blatant rip off of the total yogurt!)
Thank you in advance.

ALemonyPea · 15/01/2017 14:25

I had to take the two youngest with me, so it wasn't too fun. Have a bloke coming out to price up on Wednesday, and will get someone else in the week after. That's ok right? Never bought a new kitchen before.

Decided on ham salad for lunch, my usual. Sounds silly, but helps me stay on plan as it's filling but low in calories.

OldWest, if it's the fat free Greek, it's free. Can't find the skyr one, is it called something else?

There is a FB group called syns allowed, and they have pretty much everything on there, it's very helpful.

BasinHaircut · 15/01/2017 16:13

Yeah lemony get a few quotes and my tip would be to then get a fitter to look at them both and discuss with them anything that you want that you feel the plan doesn't deliver, or what the planner told you wasn't possible. My fitter was excellent and reckoned the trouble with the salespeople who plan them, is that a lot of them have no experience in actually fitting them so don't give you all of the options.

Dahl for lunch was OK, just had it with rice and also chucked a bit of dessicated coconut in for 2 syns which made it nicer. Didn't enjoy it as such but it was alright and I've got 2x2 meals worth for the freezer left. Think it will be an emergency weekend lunch!

summerblonde · 15/01/2017 17:04

So this morning I decided I was most definitely having a treat today. Especially after serving the takeaway last night. Nobody could be bothered making a roast so I sent DP to the supermarket for my favourite Pieminister Heidi pie. I'm having with oven chips and I literally cannot wait.. it's been almost 3 whole weeks of being good.

Been on plan for rest of the day...

HEXA 250ml semi skimmed milk
HEXB 2 x wholemeal bread.

B - poached eggs and 1 wholemeal bread. 1 syn for marg. 1 satsuma.

L - tinned mackerel on wholemeal bread.

2 syns for sugar in brews.

D - pie, chips and peas. I was going to go slimming worlds chips, but quite frankly, I can't be arsed.

I'll be well over syns, but will be back on plan tomorrow. I'm hoping it won't have to much of a negative impact on WI tomorrow, we will see...

BasinHaircut · 15/01/2017 17:16

HELP!! Can't find my family feasts on a budget recipe book, does anyone hav this one and can remind me of the smoked fish florentine recipe just for the rosti please?

I'm pretty sure it's just potato, spring onions and egg but it's been a while......

ALemonyPea · 15/01/2017 17:40

This is the recipe on the SW site

800g Desirée potatoes, peeled and coarsely

Salt and freshly ground black pepper
6 spring onions, very finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, peeled and very finely chopped
A small handful of fresh dill, chopped
1 large British Lion egg, lightly beaten
