Clash, I just turned up last week. Consultant had a new members area which got rather busy. But nice to chat to people. They go through the plan with you. Then we joined image therapy before getting weighed at the end.

Syns are the "treats" so I've used some extra milk to have a cuppa, some crisps, or my gravy on my roast dinner. My friend uses her syns in her cooking so she can add things to her recipes.

Buttwing · 08/01/2017 17:47

Groovee that looks gorgeousSmile

Groovee · 08/01/2017 18:35

It really was. I'm still getting used to not weighing potatoes though.

ClashCityRocker · 08/01/2017 18:45

Superb, thanks guys. I'm a little nervous about going so wanted to check I wasn't about to commit a faux pas or anything.

Well, my first meeting will be on Thursday!

SpaghettiMeatballs · 08/01/2017 18:58

Contemplating joining the gym so I can start spinning and swimming again..... I say that like I only stopped a few months ago Blush The last time I was actually fit was pre DD who is now 5 but I do know I was fit once...!

Went to look at a gym today and to have a think. Dug out my trainers and remembered that they are nearly new. Very fancy ones that I was measured for on a treadmill in a running shop 6 years ago. Quite embarrassing trying them on now. Sad

It's made me feel quite down to think how heavy and unfit I have got after years of no time to myself and two pregnancies.

DH is being kind for once and didn't laugh at me trying on exercise clothes and said I'd be lapping everyone on the couch. I'd only be able to go twice a week and not at all when DH is working abroad but that's better than not going isn't it??

Anyone else tried a gym? Could take DS in the pool on my day off which he'd love.

So far:
B: alemony's lovely recipe to make raspberry and lemon muffin. 2.5syns
L: veg soup with handful of pasta thrown in.
D: made DCs roast chicken and I'm using left overs to make chicken salad with rice. 0.5syns for 1/2 packet rice and 1.0 for dressing.

= 4 syns so I'll probably have a Freddo to end on 9.

ALemonyPea · 08/01/2017 19:21

Spaghetti, I was going to join the gym this week but have done my back in, so hopefully next week. I did it up until November and then didn't renew my rolling membership. I enjoyed going, don't know why I didn't keep it up. No excuse as it's just a 5 minute walk from my house, I can see it through my living room window Blush

5 A choices seems loads for a breastfeeding mother, I have heard it is that though, and it changes as the baby ages as well. I could easily eat 5 A choices a day, cheeeeeeeeeeeese.

Well done and hi to all newbies.
clash i was nervous when I first went to group and realised I knew the leader and about 5 other people when I got there! It's all a bit cringe worthy and clappy but you do pick up tips. And I've won the raffle twiceGrin I don't stay every week tho.

Good day today but I do seem to be using every last syn since Xmas!
B yogurt, satsuma and banana
D roast beef dinner, mango pieces
T ham sandwich (hexb) cherry tomatoes
syns; bag of crisps with sarny , gravy, sugar in a rare cup of coffee.

summerblonde · 08/01/2017 19:30

Thanks Buttwing - I thought they were speed oops!

So I made SW Baked Cannelloni 1 syn and had with rocket and tomatoes with salad cream 2 syns (Only had full fat). I've got three more servings left over.

5.5 syns all together inc an extra 0.5 syns for a half sugar in tea.

Might have a Freddo and another brew in a bit taking me to 10.5.

May have to weigh myself a day early and WI tomorrow as I am busy all day Tuesday. I don't suppose it will make a massive difference.

harderandharder2breathe · 08/01/2017 20:09

B pears (I'm off work so get up late which is why I don't have much breakfast)

L pasta with homemade tomato sauce (tinned tomatoes, passata, onion, pepper and garlic)

D butternut squash crinkle chips (just butternut squash cut up, cooked in fry light) and quorn sausages (2 @ 1 syn each)

In between Hula hoops (6 syns), Kinder hippo (6 syns) and a shit ton of white chocolate that I'm too depressed about to work out the syns for and count

Will have HEXA dairylea triangles and HEXB wholemeal toast for supper

Pumpkin16 · 08/01/2017 21:58

Mmmm buzibuzi mac n cheese 😋

Just wanted to see if anyone had heard that as wasn't BF last time I did it. I'll be sure to up my cheese intake Grin

emwithme · 08/01/2017 22:02

Well I'm back home after visiting family for a couple of days. I am full of chocolate, bread and cheese...and feel bloody awful for it. I have hardly eaten a vegetable in 36 hours and have eaten more bread today than I have in weeks!

I am getting back on plan tomorrow...this is the Plan.

B: Porridge with chopped fruit (may end up being shredded wheat if I'm feeling lazy in the morning)
L: Leek & potato soup, apple, pear, satsumas
D: Cajun chicken breast, rice, salad.
HEA: Milk
HEB: Porridge (above)
Syns: Probably pufts and hifi bars (9.5 total)

buzibuzi · 08/01/2017 22:15

SpaghettiMeatballs I was going to they gym regularly up until august I was very motivated before my wedding...
as soon I got back from honeymoon my motivation dwindled & I started driving lessons which swallowed up all my child free time, my DH works away a lot too
So I quit the gym & invested in some weights and I do work outs with you tube: Fitness Blender has lots and lots of quick hitt and cardio workouts, most of which dont require any equipment and I can exercise when kids are asleep
I also like yoga, again I used to go to studio now I do it at home
Its not ideal, but like you said better than nothing
Before my DS2(2) was born I used to take my DS1(10) to swimming lessons and go have a swim at the same time as his lesson was, than we would play around together in the pool it was fun!
For me its little habits like that really add up , my DS1 school is 20 min walk away That's 80 minutes of walking every day perhaps not a lot but I could definitely feel difference after summer holidays were finished!

Thingymaboob · 08/01/2017 22:16

What are pufts please?
Today:
B: 2 wholemeal smoked salmon, quark, eggsx2 Apple
L: chicken breast with light mayo 1/2 tbs1 syn 1/4 melon
Snack: rocky Rd 3 syns
Dinner: lentil dal with rice
Couple chicken slices
2 apples
HE: bread x 2
HE: 175ml skimmed milk & 1 babybell light.

Have made some yummy roasted veg, feta and cous cous salad for tomorrow! Dreading work tomorrow ☹️

Groovee · 08/01/2017 22:18

The Salt and vinegar ones are nice.

emwithme · 08/01/2017 22:19

Thingy Hula Hoop Pufts (they're like a hula-hoop-monster-munch-hybrid, texture of monster munch, shaped like a hula hoop). 3.5 syns per packet. The salt & vinegar ones are lovely.

mayathebee · 08/01/2017 22:23

Today I started with a banana and pear for breakfast but I've been really hungry all afternoon so had a portion of leftover pulled pork, potatoes and veg for lunch then made chicken and veg lattice pies with Yorkshire pud and veg for tea. This is the first day I've come close to using all my syns but I didn't go over 15 and I've been for a long walk this evening so I think it's fine. I've made overnight oats and teriyaki salmon with couscous for tomorrow. I'm really enjoying trying new recipes. The pulled pork has the winning vote from whole family so far but the lattice pies were good too.

mayathebee · 08/01/2017 22:25

The pufts look good, I'll watch out for them on my next shop.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 08/01/2017 23:20

How is your back today alemony? It's good to hear you enjoyed the gym.

That's a good idea buzibuzi. I've tried doing The Shred before and got on okish but I did used to really like spinning and swimming. They've given me a day pass to try to it out so don't need to decide yet. Might try a Les Mills spin class and see how far off the pace I am. a long way I'm sure

SpaghettiMeatballs · 08/01/2017 23:21

Ps.... school is 2 minutes walk so that's no help! Have along walk from station to the office three days a week which helps.

OwlinaTree · 09/01/2017 06:29

spaghettiyou sound like me! I was a real regular at the gym till I had children. Just can't fit it in now if I want to actually see my children after work. I'm in mat leave with number two at the mo, hoping to start running soon as that will take less time. I too have the fancy running trainers that look pretty new! It's just different priorities now I guess!

pumpkin, I am exclusively breast feeding my 5mo and I have 4hexa and 2hexb each day (well not always but that's the plan). The leader gave me a leaflet about it. How old is your baby now? When my baby reaches 6mo and starts weaning I think I have to start reducing the hex. I use milk mainly, milky coffees when I'm out and about and cheese in an omelette for breakfast. Hexb one cereal in the morning and one when ds is having tea if I'm hungry then, ryvita normally. Sometimes I just have all milk though!

BasinHaircut · 09/01/2017 08:14

Right here we are, day 0 Grin I'm well up for it. I've even decided to join a group and have sent a text to the local consultant to enquire about going tonight. I'm excited.

I'm also having a bit of an exercise crisis. I was training for a half marathon but I'm 99% sure I need to pull out because an old injury has flared up and I know that the only way to get it to heal is to stop running altogether. I don't want to, but I risk real damage if I carry on. So I'm now considering replacement exercise options. None of the other ones are as flexible as running and as you were saying upthread it all goes to pot when you have kids! I'm no good at exercising at home, I like classes at the gym but rather gut now I can't commit to regular attendance at fixed times.

Anyway today we also try butt's chicken and chorizo casserole. Let's do this

Groovee · 09/01/2017 08:16

Welcome Basin x

BasinHaircut · 09/01/2017 08:44

Thanks Groovee

I did it last year Jan - March just using some old books my mum gave me, and got lots of support from this thread and lost 1 stone. So I'm hoping that I can do it again and continue to lose and then actually maintain a weight loss eventually. I'm also doing it with them DH (although he point blank refuses to join a group) who needs to lose about 3 stone I reckon. He also lost a stone last year but cheated a lot in secret.

summerblonde · 09/01/2017 08:50
