Hi, I think that my first few days have gone well but I seem to have eaten a lot. Fingers crossed for a bit of a loss on Tuesday. If any of you started off with quite a bit to lose (I have around 4.5 stones) how long was it before you really felt a difference. I'm trying to motivate myself by thinking that by half term the clothes I am squeezing myself into atm should fit comfortably. Is that realistic for 6 weeks?

I made SW pulled pork today and it was absolutely delicious. I'm going to try making teriyaki salmon tomorrow and some chicken lattice pies.

Groovester · 08/01/2017 00:24

Well done Lemony
Maya I really notice a difference after a 2 stone loss. Actually got rid of some clothes today as I have no wish to fit back into them!

mayathebee · 08/01/2017 00:41

Thanks Groovester. Maybe 6 weeks is a bit unrealistic then. I'd just like to stop worrying that I am going to burst the button on my trousers but I'm refusing to buy any bigger pairs. I'm sure they weren't this tight before xmas!

icklekid · 08/01/2017 06:22

@mayathebee I was out of maternity clothes after 1-1.5 stone loss. Ive lost 2 stone now and took about 3 months (I've got 4 stone to lose). Definitely noticeable difference in my face and some of my non maternity clothes are getting loose!

FaithAgain · 08/01/2017 08:05

Morning all!

Maya I needed to lose 3 1/2 stone. I've lost 1 1/2 stone so far and have noticed a big difference. I'm down a dress size, I think I need to get new bras! Lots of people have noticed. I've also got more energy. I'm a runner and I can run faster now I've lost some weight. I got my stone award within 6 weeks so it can be done.

Lemony, well done! The cinema is very tempting!

I'm happy that I'm doing well this week. I'm staying within my syns and I've been really active. I'm just starting my final week of my bronze award.

Slimming world sausages are rank. Ds spat them out. My friend says you need to fry with fry light. Need to find an edible sausage low in syns.

I had some Heck Italia chicken chipolata sausages yesterday which were okay but not fantastic.

Thingymaboob · 08/01/2017 11:46

Linda McCartney rosemary and red onion sausages are free and delicious

summerblonde · 08/01/2017 13:22

Day 12 so far...

HEA skimmed milk
HEB wholemeal

B - one wholemeal with 2 poached eggs, should have had bean for speed but really didn't fancy them. 1 satsuma.

2 syns for sugar in teas and tomato sauce with breakfast.

calzone · 08/01/2017 13:34

Groovee......you neeeeeed Porky Lights!!! Amazing sausages for 1/2 syn each.

Groovee · 08/01/2017 13:42

Where can I buy porky lights?

buzzmoon · 08/01/2017 14:39

Happy Sunday everyone!
I have tried the sky 'fit in 5' programme today, I am so unfit! Gonna try and do it every day till I can actually get through it! It's only 15 mins!
Got a butternut squash mac n cheese from the SW mag for lunch and can't wait!

buzzmoon · 08/01/2017 14:45

Groovee I think you can get porky lights at ASDA

ALemonyPea · 08/01/2017 14:53

SW sausages are awful, as are their burgers. Porky lights or heckchicken sausages are all low syn and much nicer. I do my sausages in my air fryer, they're delicious that way, or grill them if you've not got one. They burn too easily when fried with frylight.

Been to my mams for dinner today, roast beef and all syn free apart from the gravy, which was just instant so 1.5 syns. Then she broke out thencheese and crackers. I was good though and weighed out my 30g of cheese, and had it with 6 ritz crackers for 6 syns. Also had a fibre one brownie, which was ok, 4 syns. 11.5 syns used for dinner/pud, but that is fine as I can do that.

Spoke to my SW consultant this morning & she said as I'm breastfeeding I should be having up to 5 HEXA Shock

Not sure I could eat that many but I've not heard of that before. Seems a bit excessive.

buzzmoon · 08/01/2017 15:51

That's a lot of cheese pumpkin!

Buttwing · 08/01/2017 15:54

I use Sainsburys be good to yourself Cumberland which are one syn, there ok.

Summer baked beans aren't speed, I use mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach with my poached eggs when I have them it's surprisingly nice.

B-mango, raspberries, melon and blueberries with ff Greek yogurt
L-omelette with ham, mushrooms and tomatoes
D-steak, eggs and padron peppers

Skimmed milk and two hifis.

ClashCityRocker · 08/01/2017 15:58

Hi all!

Sorry to interrupt, but I'm considering starting slimming world as I think it will help me focus, and I know it's worked for lots of people. Can I just ask a few things please?

Do you just turn up at a meeting? What happens the first time you go?

I would also be grateful if someone could give me a quick overview of how 'Syns' work.

Many thanks - any tips gratefully received!

Frouby · 08/01/2017 16:00

Pumpkin I used a lot of my a choice on milk when I was ebfing a few years ago. Used to have a pint of milk before bed. It's the only time I actually drank milk as a drink instead of with tea or coffee.

Been a good day so far. Missed breakfast and wasn't hungry at lunchtime but got a roast beef dinner cooking. Will have that and hifis later. Some syns in the gravy and going to have a Yorkshire pudding too. Then might treat myself to a few squares of dark chocolate later.

buzibuzi · 08/01/2017 16:11

pumpkin thats screams mac & cheese
I dont eat my hex a every day but I do eat low fat natural yogurt so in my head thats ok for calcium
so far ive only had 5 syns for 1/2 avocado for breakkie :o hope everyone is having great weekend!

Buttwing · 08/01/2017 17:34

Clash-yes you can turn up, best to turn up a few mins early. The consultant will take you and any other new members through the plan takes about half and hour to do this including the paperwork and any questions you might have.
Then you come and sit with everyone else and listen to "image therapy" it's basically going round each member and seeing how much they've lost and if they have any problems, questions or have anything coming up the following week that could hinder weightloss and how to work round this. This takes an hour.
At the very end you will get weighed only the person weighing you will see your weight and your weight is never disclosed to the group. The next time you go you will get weighed at the beginning and it doesn't take so much time, my group is weigh in from 8.45-9.15 image therapy from 9.15-10.15 so I arrive at 9.10 som I'm not there as long!
Syns are the part of the plan which allow you to have treats, you are allowed up to 15 Syns a day. They help you by still allowing you to have a small amount the things you really like that might not be the best for weightloss ! Eg a two finger kit-Kat is 5.5 Syns. A curly wurly is 6syns.
Syn values can be found in the pack you get given when you join or on the app.

Groovee · 08/01/2017 17:40
