6lb is great Oriana, especially since you've had Christmas as well. You've just had a baby! Don't feel bad about anything!

Hi everyone

I went to my first SW group meeting on Tuesday and had my first weigh in (11st 13.5lbs) and I'm aiming to get to 10st initially. I was between 8 and 9st until I hit 35 and started IVF treatment and just piled it on after that! I'm now almost 45 and have a 6 year old DD and a 5 month old DS and I am determined to get back to a healthy weight.

Still a bit unsure about how best to follow the plan but I'm sure that will come with time. My consultant called today to let me know that as I'm bfing I need to have more Healthy Extra's so I'm planning to finish off the Christmas cheeseboard later Grin

Frouby · 05/01/2017 14:16

Thanks Buzi!

Are the stalks a bit of an issue then? Sigh. Wish I had bought spinich instead now. I trust spinich.

It's a bag from aldi so will cook a bit for serving with my stew and if I don't like it I have 2 greedy guinea pigs that will enjoy it Grin

TheImprobableGirl · 05/01/2017 14:27

I got the super 6 kale too Grin

I was going to use mine raw like rocket! Good job you said... I think I'll stir fry it maybe, or bake it and have it with jacket potato and some fish!

Groovee · 05/01/2017 14:44

Just had to share this photo. One of my old consultants (my consultant left and we had tonnes come to cover) had a lb of fat she took with her to class.

I remember last time I felt disappointed that people who started with me had gained their first awards etc way before me. But then my losses became bigger and then slowed again so I was at the same point as them. But it did feel a bit let down.

Have made turkey burgers with garlic and red onion. Soup is in the slow cooker. Wedges are ready to par boil. Then I have sat with the website, looked up recipes, done a menu planner and also a shopping list. Feeling quite accomplished.

Groovee · 05/01/2017 14:47

Fifi make sure you tell the consultant about the diabetes. Mine asked if any of us were diabetic yesterday before she started the new member talk x

Buttwing · 05/01/2017 17:33

Dd made jammy biscuits in food tech today and has bought them home for us. She is so excited about food tech, she's in year 7 so it's all new. I didn't have the heart to say no so I had a bite of one and fed the rest to the dog when she wasn't looking!

Buttwing · 05/01/2017 17:34

Groovee I love that so true!

Groovee · 05/01/2017 18:16

Oh Butt! I'm glad my 2 no longer do home economics. I would have felt the need to have one x

TheImprobableGirl · 05/01/2017 18:30

Oooh just having a browse on the Asda website and they're introducing their new 'slimzone' range which is "free to enjoy on the slimming world extra easy plan"

Assuming these are a new version of icelands meals? Some good things on there- a bit pricy at £2.50 but sausages and ready meals which could be easy to grab for free

Chamonix1 · 05/01/2017 18:36

Signing in. Just started this week. So far so good! Well done everyone on your loses etc, hopefully I can join the healthy clan on this diet.

icklekid · 05/01/2017 18:45

@TheImprobableGirl the asda range is very controversial as not endorsed by sw and may not all be syn free!

Am determined to get a good loss this week so sticking to plan

B: overnight oats and raspberries
L: 7 speed veg soup and 1 slice bread
D: SW butternut squash and chicken curry with rice

Snacks: apple, orange, cheese with 1 water biscuit and hifi bar

Groovester · 05/01/2017 18:59

Lost a pound. I gained 1.5 over Christmas so still 0.5 over where I was on 22nd Dec. Next week...

Groovester · 05/01/2017 19:00

My good friend has put on 6.5lbs but her butt is going into gear right now!

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 05/01/2017 19:08

WI in this morning, 1.3kg up on my previous low which was mid December, have been doing intermittent weighings over the holiday and it has been fluctuating a bit. Today's the first day I have really stuck to plan.

PositiveAttitude · 05/01/2017 19:15

I also bought Kale in the Aldi fruit and veg offer. After reading all the comments from earlier today I thought I would give it a go for tea tonight. Now I eat EVERYTHING (apart from baked beans). I was quite excited to try this new delicacy. I can tell you all the ONLY way to use this.......use it as exercise to walk to the bin- put in and walk back to the sofa!!! It is vile!!!

Frouby · 05/01/2017 19:18

Oh no PA, that bad pmsl. Mine is simmering in the bottom of the veg pan squished down with a bag of slightly (3 days!) out of date m and s chefs vegetables.

Good job I have guinea pigs. There is still a load left so they can have it tomorrow if I don't like it. I like all veg I think so am still hopeful.

But it smells very green as it's cooking. I do like spinich tho so hope it's similar tasting.

dannyglick · 05/01/2017 19:34

Another one here who will eat anything, but even I couldn't eat kale when I cooked it to try.
I predict that Frouby's guinea pigs will be having a kale supper tonight.

summerblonde · 05/01/2017 19:52

Normally I'll try something despite poor reviews... but on this occasion I won't be trying kale...Hmm

Finished today - lamb curry 10% less fat,100 grams is 2.5 syns (I think), peas, fri light instead of butter, peas, onions, Schwartz Biryani spice mix, (sachet is 4.5 syns but only had a small bit so 1 syn), tinned tomatoes, rice.

11 1/2 syns

Frouby · 05/01/2017 19:57

It was ok. Bit green tasting but it cooked down to not very much and was mixed in with other stuff. Probably be ok in soup or perhaps a bit in a stir fry.

It tastes a bit like spinich I think. Sort of a cross between spinich and parsley.

My piggies can have the rest pmsl. It's curry night tomorrow and I wont be spoiling my chicken saag with a big fat side of leaves!

northerngirl71 · 05/01/2017 20:20

Hello I'm new to this thread but just found it and need some support! Feeling heavy after two weeks off and I'm sure I've put on a few pounds over Christmas. The thing is I really can't be bothered at the moment as I've been ill and it's sooo cold ! Want to eat stodgy food! Please help!
Have had 9.5 syns today really want a coop fish cake that's looking at me in the fridge.....

dannyglick · 05/01/2017 20:23

northerngirl, if you really want the fishcake, eat it and enjoy it: just count the syns and stay in control.

northerngirl71 · 05/01/2017 20:39

Danny it's in the oven . I'll weigh in tomorrow and then start afresh . Mustn't beat my self up I'm only just out of target !

ALemonyPea · 05/01/2017 20:40

Welcome to the thread newbies.

Thrilled I've managed a day chocolate and biscuit free. Only had 1.5 syns today, but think I need to tread lightly anyway for the next few days anyway.

OP posts:
TheImprobableGirl · 05/01/2017 20:42

I have eaten all the food.... I mean technically I'm still on plan but there is physically no way I should feel this full. Can somebody just cast a quick eye over today's and see if I'm ok?

Water: 2.5 litres, 4 cups tea (one sweetener in each) and a can Diet Coke
HeA: half milk, half babybel light
HeB: one wholemeal roll

B- egg white omelette, with half a red pepper, one piece of ham and two tomatoes

S- Mango and BBQ hula hoops

L- 1/3 pack Thai veg, 1/3 pack dried noodles. Satsuma

S- baked beans snap pot, one piece pastrami, cooked veg that kids left

D- TWO skinny burgers Hmm (on date today) both in wholemeal buns, with tomato, fried onions, cucumber and babybel slices, some skinny sw chips with Cajun spice (approx 1 potato worth) and a third of my plate salad with spinach, rocket and half a yellow pepper.

Obviously won't be listing exact portion sizes each day but how far (apart from the extra burger) am I going wrong?

Syns finished on 14- 7 for hula hoops, 6 for roll and 1 for Thai veg
