Decided on salmon, stir fry and rice for tea instead of takeaway. Really enjoyed it. Bought a fancy stir fry pack from Sainsbury with tender stem broccoli, green beans, mangetout and chilli and onion. Delicious. Hadn't had any syns so used sesame oil as well. Delightful.

Well done on the run Faith. I can't bring myself to run, don't mind a treadmill though.

FaithFromTheRealmsOfGlory · 15/12/2016 22:24

Sounds delicious and a sensible choice Lemony. I can run outside but I hate treadmills with a passion!

Groovester · 15/12/2016 22:33

Another 1.5lbs off tonight. I know it's a loss but I'm still a little disappointed. I've not strayed!

OwlinaTree · 15/12/2016 22:46

1.5lb is a good loss! What loses have you been getting in recent weeks?

emwithme · 15/12/2016 23:00

Forgive me Mags for I have synned.

The chicken was off (so that made the decision about dinner far easier). Fish, chips and curry sauce from the chippy. Delicious. However, I appear to have dived headfirst into a vat of chocolate since. I even tried cleaning my teeth at about 8 pm to stop it. It didn't work.

I am now going to feed the cats and go to bed, because it's miles away from the snack cupboard in the kitchen. Must replace all DH's work snacks tomorrow...

LavenderRains · 15/12/2016 23:10

em sorry but that made me laugh! I'm sat in bed but if someone bought fish and chips to me right now I'd scoff the lot! I've had 2 hifi bars as syns today as I'm eating out again tomorrow. I had beans on toast for brunch and stir fry beef for tea.
I don't blame you em we all have to indulge sometimes and I bet it was bloody lovely Grin

ClarissaDarling · 15/12/2016 23:17

4lbs off for weigh in! Second class :) we did this thing with scan bran and how to make cakes with it! Is scan bran really just ryvita?

Groovester · 16/12/2016 07:19

2.5 lbs has been my lowest loss up until last night owl. I am being silly as still going in right direction. I've been feeling hormonal all week so may be retaining. Another 3lbs and I will get my 2 stones award.

OwlinaTree · 16/12/2016 07:25

Nearly 2st is a fab loss!

LavenderRains · 16/12/2016 08:19

Well done clarissa that's really good Star
I've never tried scan bran. I wouldn't know where to start. I've seen it at group but it looks like cardboard! Would be grateful for any tips on what to do with the stuff.

FaithFromTheRealmsOfGlory · 16/12/2016 09:09

I've slowed down in the last few weeks to a pound a week groovester but a pound a week would be 3 1/2 stone in a year! I've upped the exercise this week because I need 2lb for club 10 and if I don't do it this week it'll be after Christmas!

em that made me laugh too. It's a new day. Start afresh!

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 16/12/2016 09:40

I'm only aiming for a pound a week, that way anything more is a bonus and I don't have to be super strict as I don't think I can maintain super strict habits long term. You've done really well Groovester, just keep going.

ALemonyPea · 16/12/2016 12:04

Em youre so funny. I'd love to have some fish and chips.

Already have my food planned for my three days off plan. Cannot wait! I'll probably eat a lot, less than I think I will TBH.

Just a warning, After 8 straws are only 1 syns each. I've had 3 at my mams, they're lovely. Glad they don't live here though.

OwlinaTree · 16/12/2016 12:41

4lb! Well done! I'm trying hard this week as I want my 1.5st this week before Xmas. Need to lose 1.5lb this week. Manageable

alibongo5 · 16/12/2016 12:59

Feeling completely and utterly down. Have had a bereavement in the family and the funeral is next week. Feel stressed re Christmas - even though no-one at all is putting any pressure on me except myself. Am eating ok but being tempted by wine in the evening to feel better about stress and bereavement. Want to get a bit of loss before WI on Tuesday but can't really see it happening.

I think I'm just going to accept whatever for now and just start again with a vengeance in the new year.

Roll on 2017.

LavenderRains · 16/12/2016 16:57

Flowers alibongo sorry for your loss. I don't think you are being fair to yourself. You can't be expected to focus on food at a time like this. Take some stress off, have that glass of wine and eat what u want.
Start afresh in the new year. I bet you won't put much on. Be kind to yourself.

sunshinehitme · 16/12/2016 17:23

Having a bad day, had a solo trek into town today and ended up eating a chicken pastry bake from the bakery and a massive chicken mayo sandwich. Oops. Also have been making reindeer biscuits with the toddler and had a biscuit. This is what happens when I have a day off work.
Luckily I work in retail so at this time of year don't get many days off! Haven't eaten anything with any nutritional value at all. Feeling guilty now.

LavenderRains · 16/12/2016 18:01

Not a bad day food wise considering I ate out, but all syns used already! I can't believe a piddly bread roll is 6 syns!!
B poached eggs on toast (hexB)
D gammon, jacket potato, salad, bread roll, butter, salad dressing.
T another jacket potato(starving!) Ham, mushrooms, cheese (hexA)
Grapes, yogurt.

ALemonyPea · 16/12/2016 18:47

Sorry for your loss Ali 💐 You're being too hard on yourself, have that glass of wine and don't feel guilty.

Made gunpowder pork out of this months magazine, was ok if a little too spicy. Would have preferred a thicker sauce as well, somless stock needed next time maybe.

alibongo5 · 16/12/2016 19:07

Thanks Lemony and Lavender. Yes, I know you're right but don't want to put on what I've managed to lose. But hey ho, in the scheme of things, it really doesn't matter that much does it? If I put it on now, at least I'm starting from a lower point than I would've done if I hadn't been going for the last few weeks.

Feeling better now - this afternoon I just felt down and stressed. And no syns yet but alcohol will no doubt be involved before the day's out.

And yes, I will start again in the new year when I hope things will be easier to tackle.

Good luck everyone - hope you achieve what you want.

LavenderRains · 16/12/2016 20:00

Can someone talk to me about Quark please.
what does it taste like? Is it like Philidelphea? What do people do with it?

Despite 2 meals today I'm hungry! I could so eat a tin of Xmas shortbread with a cuppa! All syns used tho Sad

Groovester · 16/12/2016 20:23

You are all sensible and lovely. Thank you. Busy at work so a good food day here and I've saved my hex b to have a couple of hifis with my evening cup of tea.

ALemonyPea · 16/12/2016 21:16

No it's not like philly, it's more like creamed cottage cheese. It's not something you'd spread on toast, rather add it to things.

I use it for mash or mix it with pasta, bacon and mushrooms with black pepper.

LavenderRains · 16/12/2016 22:25

Hmm thanks lemony I'm not sure creamed cottage cheese is a good thing! Sounds like it could work with pasta tho.
its free yes? I may have to try a tub.

tabulahrasa · 16/12/2016 22:33

Think of quark like Greek yoghurt without the yoghurtiness taste and less temperamental.

So you can use it in pasta dishes, or added to the end of curries, add garlic or something for a savoury dip and with sweetener you get a kind of cream cheese frosting type flavour.

You can use it with a bit of yoghurt and vinegar for a passable mayonnaise alternative in things like potato salad.

It's also good for slimming world quiches without having the hassle of cottage cheese lumps.

Basically it can take the place of most cream or yoghurt type things, with a bit of flavouring...

But you'd not eat it on a bagel like philli.
