butt that lunch sounds lovely! Unfortunately I can't give blood until April.
I think you should have a free week if the scales didn't work!

LavenderRains · 14/12/2016 18:28

Can someone remind me how many calories per syn please? Trying to rough work out what I've had.

ALemonyPea · 14/12/2016 18:39

Well done on your loss Lavender. Younhad jacket potato with your food, you'll be fine Wink

ALemonyPea · 14/12/2016 18:40

20 calls per syn roughly as well.

ClarissaDarling · 14/12/2016 18:44

Hi just signed on with slimming world last week so first weigh in properly tomorrow! i'm finding the recording a bit confusing as it is not by meal but by grouping of free, healthy extra and syns?

LavenderRains · 14/12/2016 19:42

Welcome clarissa it does take a bit of getting used to filling in the diaries. Just break your meals down and put them in the right column. Your leader will take your diaries in for as long as you need and give you pointers if your going wrong.
looks like my miniscule bit of cheesecake was 18 syns Confused oh well its my first pud in 11 weeks.

AwesomeBadger · 14/12/2016 22:08

Relatively good first day for me I think, although I am struggling a bit to come up with lunches I like - it was always a key time for me to stock up on rubbish, so found that my salad today didn't really do the job - any tips for good lunches that don't require reheating? We don't have a micro at work.

Lavender brilliant work with your loss and what's more you've inspired me to go and give blood which is definitely a good thing!

Hi Clarissa good luck for your weigh in tomorrow, let us know how you get on!

FaithFromTheRealmsOfGlory · 14/12/2016 22:22

Hello to all newcomers

Awesome I'm relying on homemade soup...would a thermos work?

WI tonight. Lost a pound. Not just any pound though, it's the pound, that means I've got under what I got to on the dark side WW where I then plateaud and then gained again. I'm officially the lightest I've been in year! 17lb in 9 week! Aiming for 2lb next week which would mean my club 10.

ClarissaDarling · 14/12/2016 22:24

Thanks all! It's the syns I find confusing and how a roll could be a syn, unless is a healthy extra??

LavenderRains · 14/12/2016 22:26

Badger that's brilliant! I'm glad you are going to donate. Apparently they are really short this time of year. This was only my second time, first time was August. I was inspired to donate when my dad had heart surgery this year and needed a transfusion.

As for lunches I take cold pasta with chicken or a fave of mine is fried rice, chicken and courgette eaten cold. Tis lovely. Or use healthy extra a and b for a cheese sandwich eaten with loads of fruit.

sandy70 · 14/12/2016 22:35

Wi tonight lost 4 1/2 lbs yay me so happy lost 17 1/2 lbs in 4 weeks!!! Hubby lost 4 lbs too he's lost 13lbs in 4 weeks I'm so happy for him it's so much easier with us both doing it there's less cheating good luck to everyone for next week we can do it!!!! Having a weeks holiday over Christmas then back on it!!! X

LavenderRains · 14/12/2016 22:35

Well done faith that must feel goodStar

AwesomeBadger · 14/12/2016 22:35

Hi Faith, that is absolutely brilliant, well done! Soup is a great idea, I will try to batch up some at the weekend,

Lavender unfortunately I have a really common boring blood type, but every little helps I guess! That is quite some inspiration, hope your Dad is doing ok now. Thank you for the lunch inspiration too, I will try to make some fried rice for next week.

AwesomeBadger · 14/12/2016 22:36

Well done Sandy, great loss.

FaithFromTheRealmsOfGlory · 14/12/2016 22:36

Clarissa (awesome name btw, blast from the past!), think of it as having an allowance for the A and B choices that you need to have in the day. Try to plan them in, then anything in the family on top is a syn. So if I have cereal for breakfast it's my HEB, if I then have bread for lunch I syn it.

FaithFromTheRealmsOfGlory · 14/12/2016 22:38

Awesome I'm so lazy, I use Tesco pre-chopped soup mixed veg packets and then add certain veg like tomatoes to make a certain flavour. Butternut squash is gorgeous in soup Smile

FaithFromTheRealmsOfGlory · 14/12/2016 22:40

Thanks Lavender, that's despite work night out on Thursday and curry last night. Oh I felt virtuous having chicken tikka with salad when they all had creamy sauces but it paid off!

Great work Sandy!

LavenderRains · 15/12/2016 07:15

badger the more common the blood group the more it's needed! They were phoning people while I was sat donating pleading with them to donate! What's good now is a few weeks after you donate you get a text telling you where your blood went. Mine ended up a long way from home! Dad is doing ok thanks.
faith I use those Tesco veg packs, they are ideal. I've not tried butternut squash tho, it's on my list!

FaithFromTheRealmsOfGlory · 15/12/2016 07:37

Lavender you can buy frozen butternut squash (see I'm super lazy! - CBA to chop it!).

alibongo5 · 15/12/2016 08:18

AwesomeBadger - how about a more substantial salad like a pasta or cous cous?

Groovester · 15/12/2016 09:17

Hi to everyone new and 'old.' I've had a bit of a stumble this week mentally. I've stuck to plan but definitely snacked more than I normally would. I stick to rice cakes and/or free foods so don't think I've blown things but I'm not feeling as positive as I have been feeling of late. I am looking forward to a 3 day break over Christmas.
On a good note, DH is away to work today wearing a shirt that had become too tight. He's happy! He doesn't go to class but generally follows my lead.
And in other good news, my lovely FIL has signed up to a SW group local to him and called last night for some guidance. He's seen a big difference in me which has inspired him. So pleased as he struggles with his knees so losing some weight will help him feel a lot better, I think.
Weigh in later on tonight. 4.5lbs off last week so only expecting 1 or 2 this time. Fingers crossed.
Thinks slim thoughts

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 15/12/2016 10:44

WI in this morning for me, gained 1.5lb, but not surprised really, I've been dashing around madly all week and not eating properly. Going to try and have a good week now to get me on track before Christmas. Work Christmas meal tomorrow and staying with carb-addicted relatives this weekend though, so it could be tricky. However my jeans feel loose, which is nice and motivating.

ALemonyPea · 15/12/2016 12:03

Welcome newbies, well done losers and commiserations to those who've gains
Ed.

Where can you buy frozen BNS? I love BNS in soups or by itself, but it seems a right twat to prepare. Have one in my fridge right now, which I should be making it not soup but can't be arsed.

Ordering a Chinese takeaway tonight. Might not get one and just have salmon and veggie rice, or get chicken and mushrooms with boiled rice, can't decide.

emwithme · 15/12/2016 14:28

Lemony you can get frozen BNS in most supermarkets. Definitely Asda (700g bag) and Waitrose (Essential, 500g bag) because that's where I got mine from! I add carrots and onion and sprinkle with curry powder before roasting for half an hour then blending with veg stock. Is lovely soup.

Lost 1.5 lbs today, now 1.5 under target (want to lose a little more next Thursday then gain it all back the following week eating ALL THE CHEESE)

Am supposed to be having a made-at-home curry tonight but I want take out. I may compromise and have jar-curry to see if that works.

FaithFromTheRealmsOfGlory · 15/12/2016 14:38

I get my Frozen BNS from Tesco.

That's brilliant em, got yourself some wiggle room.

I went for a run this morning! I used to love running but since I started with abdo pain in August (still going, unknown cause) I've avoided it. I'm so keen to get my club 10 I decided to try. I was actually fine! I did 1.5 miles but at a much faster pace than I expected (that'll be thanks to being a stone lighter than I was back in June when I last ran!). I'm pretty chuffed to be honest.
