I have not stopped eating all day! Angry I don't know what's going on with me, but I am so hungry today, which is getting me frustrated cos I so want to lose this week after my gain last week and next week I am out a few times, so I know I wont lose the following week.

OwlinaTree · 11/12/2016 00:16

Hi all, having a good weekend so far, stayed on plan. Having an early Christmas tomorrow, roast dinner etc, so basically a day off plan! Will be yummy I hope! I would like to lose 3.5lb in the next 2 weeks to get my 1.5 stone, but I'll settle for 2.5lb to get into the next stone. Better not have too much Xmas pudding!

emwithme · 11/12/2016 10:16

Hi all. Have been reading but not posting (mainly because I am a little bit shit). Gained a lb this week so smack on target. It's so strange to think that gains are OK...I must get used to this "being at target" lark.

I do know why I gained though...BREAD. I love bread. I bought a little loaf last week and ate it all (stayed within syns) but by the end of the week I felt so bloated and wasn't ahem pooing properly so backed off the bread this week, and things are more normal now! I also didn't have my usual couple of SP days (because I'd made a giant beef stew with potatoes in) which may have affected it. Properly on plan this week with a view to getting nearer to the bottom of the target range before Christmas (and then I have more room to gain once I eat ALL THE CHEESE!)

Hello all

Em I have had too much bread the last 2 weeks as well. Need to get to a wi this week because I haven't been for 2 weeks.

Been very off plan for days. Will have gained but nothing much I can do about what I have already had. And we are having dominos for tea. But I do have a big tub of salad to have with it.

I have enjoyed far too many cheese and biscuits, mince pies and stollen this week to deserve anything other than a gain. But am resigned to it. And am still around 2 stone lighter than last Christmas so got to be better than where I was!

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 11/12/2016 16:40

I've eaten far too much this weekend and am out again tonight for a party with v.limited food choices (chicken in a basket etc).

ALemonyPea · 11/12/2016 17:45

Em, I rarely eat bread now as it bloats me. Love the bloody stuff though.

Like yourself, I cannot wait for Christmas so I can eat my own weight in cheese.

My sister is a terrible influence. Made dinner for her family and she brought over a lemon meringue pie, so obviously obliged to have a piece. Very nice indeed. Should be ok though as not had all my syns every day and will just have a light day tomorrow.

PositiveAttitude · 11/12/2016 19:13

Em my post weigh-in treat is a slice of bread as it is what I miss most, I think. DS worked in a bakery that makes the most delicious bread (date and walnut is my favourite), but they dont use yeast and it is made as healthy as it can be. I used to get it free from DS, but now have to pay $2.50 on Tuesdays for it as he has left the job to travel. The yeast free bread doesnt bloat me at all, but I tried a loaf from Lidl this week and I was bloated and had stomach cramps terribly!

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 11/12/2016 22:58

I try and only eat rye bread now, but tend to lapse at weekends when the family get crusty bread in for lunch. Terrible fail today, went to our nearest city for the Christmas Market and just had to keep up our family tradition of freshly baked cheese straws from an amazing bakery followed by scampi and chips at the party tonight. It was a lovely day though.

emwithme · 11/12/2016 23:52

I got hangry this afternoon so DH made me eat a white bread ham and cheese sandwich. (It was fucking gorgeous and I didn't take much persuading).

I then had the World's Biggest Roast Dinner and then a giant poo even now, nearly 4 hours later, I am still stuffed.

Tomorrow's plan:

B: Eggy muffins
L: Leek & Potato soup, apple, pear, satsumas
D: Sausage casserole (made with heck chicken sausages) and jacket potato
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars. I am still addicted to the mint ones.

Hate being ill. I usually sit with cups of tea and a packet of digestive biscuits to dunk. Can't do that now. Staying on plan as best I can.

AwesomeBadger · 12/12/2016 14:30

Hello all - can I join? My first meeting is tomorrow and I'm very nervous! Any top tips for making it through the first one in one piece?

Sorry to hear you're ill Lemony and hope you feel better soon.

emwithme · 12/12/2016 15:27

Awesome - tips for new people:

Get there a few minutes before the advertised start time (so 9.25 for a 9.30 meeting or 5.25 for a 5.30 meeting). The consultant will greet you and then go through the plan with you while the rest of the members do the paying-weighing-gossiping bit.

There will be LOTS of clapping. You get used to it (or tune it out eventually).

Remember that everyone was new once; they are generally nice people there's always one arsehole who are very welcoming. Hopefully someone will make you a cup of tea/coffee at some point.

Wear clothes that you don't mind wearing every Tuesday for the next however long. Jeans weigh a good couple of pounds so if you wear them one week and not the next, then again the week after, it will affect your losses. I weighed pretty much every week between joining and getting to target in a pair of leggings and (the same) top; I had to change top about a month before I got to target because it was just too big and I was flashing my boobs everywhere Grin.

Mostly, if you're not sure, ask. We're a pretty friendly bunch here...

Awesome agree with everything em said, and bloody well done you for joining two weeks before Xmas!

Good day for me, off to dd1's carol service tonight where Im sure they will try and force mince pies and mulled wine on me. Dd is performing a piece of drama so that should be um interesting?......

B-banana, hifi and yogurt
L- chicken and veg soup
D-roast lamb, roast potatoes, carrots and broccoli

AwesomeBadger · 12/12/2016 18:21

Thank you Em for your tips - I hadn't thought about what I was going to wear but that is a very good point.

Thanks Butt, I have been lurking for a while and been very inspired by all of you and just got to the point where enough was enough. Have about 3st to lose I reckon. I hope you have a lovely time at the carol service

PositiveAttitude · 12/12/2016 19:02

Welcome AwesomeBadger

Butt I think I must be obsessed I read your lunch as "Chocolate and veg soup" and thought what the hell!!!! Grin

I have just had a yummy roast beef dinner. It has been in the slow cooker all day and was the yummiest thing from yummy land!!!

ALemonyPea · 12/12/2016 19:08

You're brave starting a diet before Christmas. Well done and good luck.

I've no idea how I'm meant to stick to plan before Christmas. My mam went to York at the weekend and brought me rhubarb and custard shortbread and mince lies, and then my dad's girlfriend made me a lovely Christmas cake and I'm the only one in my house who eats Christmas cake. They keep making sexy eyes at me whenever I go into the kitchen.

Buttwing · 12/12/2016 20:51

Lemony pmsl at mince lies!!Grin

Positive I wish it was chocolate soup!! It was very nice though!

Thanks awesome it was lovely (and no food or drink yay!) dds friend sang solo, once in royal David's city it brought a tear to my eye and made me go all goosey!

How's everyone thinking of dealing with Xmas? I'm thinking being good til Xmas eve then off until the 28th. We have our Italian xmas day on the 27th and I want to enjoy that then get back on it I think.

ALemonyPea · 12/12/2016 20:54

Ha ha oops.

I'm being good until Christmas even, than back in it after Boxing Day. Three days off for me.

I have a hospital appointment on 3 Jan to discuss date for hysterectomy so can't put on too much or they'll not do it.

AwesomeBadger · 12/12/2016 21:07

Sounds brilliant Butt and very impressed you got away without food or drink!

Lemony, Rhubarb and Custard shortbread sounds incredible!

We are going to stay with family from 23d-27th and although I'm making dinner at least one night I won't have much control over what it is! My plan is to make the best possible decisions I can from what we are given and avoid any extra snacks and goodies apart from on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. But I'm a complete noob so have no idea how it will actually pan out. Is all gravy synned the same or does it depend on the meat?

Buttwing · 12/12/2016 21:44

Badger depends how it's made or which one. Adding meat juice increases syns.

I'm hosting again this year. There will be 12 of us and I've m and s'd most of it I'm not even going to look at the syns. I could make a separate one for me but in all honesty I can't be bothered with the faff. I'm planning on small portions of everything!

AwesomeBadger · 12/12/2016 21:55

Ah ok thanks Butt, I'll have a look at some of the recipes online.

Got to love M&S at Christmas!

LavenderRains · 12/12/2016 21:56

Welcome Badger. I agree about carefully choosing your clothes. I wear a pair of trousers and a long sleeved tee shirt. The trousers I can now take off without undoing and the top looks awful!! DH says I look like orphan annieGrin
I was hoping for 3lb loss this week to make 2.5 stone but I'm a bit doubtful.
DD's birthday yesterday and we had Chinese, I didn't go mad but had 2 chicken balls and a duck rollBlush
B pear, satsuma and yogurt
D chicken breast, jacket potato,peas.
T Ham Sarny ( hexb) melon, popcorn, hifibar
Out for a meal tomorrow so will try and make sensible choices.
Also giving blood, will that make me lighter??!Grin

OwlinaTree · 12/12/2016 22:28

Sounds like a lovely concert butt. Welcome badger, good luck. When's your first weigh in? I'm being weighed tomorrow, trying to be extra good today and tomorrow to make up for early Christmas dinner yesterday!

sunshinehitme · 13/12/2016 06:36

Hi! Thought I'd join in..started sw 5 weeks ago, have lost 1 stone 6 lbs so far! I have an awful lot to lose however. Going on holiday in May, first holiday abroad for years and I'm determined to feel confident enough to wear shorts!

AwesomeBadger · 13/12/2016 09:35

Thank you Lavender. Haha oh dear, I will have to make sure I wear clothes that I really like in that case! sounds like you were very restrained with the Chinese, good work.

Thank you for the welcome Owl It's my first meeting tonight so I guess first official WI i s next week?! I'm really nervous to see how bad my official weight is, but onwards and upwards I guess (or maybe that should be downwards!) I hope your WI goes well today.

Hi sunshine, wow that is amazing, well done!
