Thanks so much all - and well done losers! So many positive stories in here!

Savoury snacks...could go for things like hard boiled eggs, crab sticks or (my favourite) cucumber batons wrapped in ham for syn free options, or even pickles straight from the jar!

Low syn wise... The mini Peperamis are 1 syn each, Cheestrings are 3 each. Most supermarket cheese straws fill pastry cravings at 2.5 syns each, and I love these little cheese biscuit bites that Tesco do, which are half a syn each! m.tesco.com/h5/groceries/r/www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=276865538

WI last night and another 2.5lb off. Yay!!! Rather chuffed with that. And a shiny sticker for 2 stone loss, too! Grin

Life is looking better here. I have a job interview this afternoon but the tiny grandson has had a good couple of days after a very rocky week.

I am really not sure what I am going to be eating today - Just having fruit for breakfast now, but I am expecting to be too nervous to eat lunch. Dinner could be a chicken burger with salad and chips.

ApollO88 · 07/09/2016 06:38

Joining my fist slimming world group this evening after work!

BasinHaircut · 07/09/2016 07:03

Morning all! Looks like a great week all round on here.

I know I'm not supposed to weigh more than once per week but I had a sneaky weigh this morning and I appear to be another 1.5lbs down from yesterday. If that's a true loss then I lost 4lbs in my first 2 half arsed weeks not 2.5lbs.

Seeing that on the scale has spurred me on to stick to plan, just hope it's real!

chough · 07/09/2016 08:28

Morning, all.
Well done to losers, and congratulations to Emily on getting to target!
You will have to focus on keeping in target now, Emily, and really just seeing what you can get away with!
I am one and a half pounds out of target at the moment, but usually have maintained for eight years, apart from holiday gains, which I've always lost quickly, especially since SP started.
There's a good article on the SW website about the habits which lead to keeping in target.
The advice is usually to increase healthy extras, until you find what works for you, rather than increase syns, as that could lead to regaining old bad habits.
That said, I think increasing syns is what I do! Maybe go out more , perhaps a pub tea once a week, but keep to the plan the rest of the time: I put weight on easily.
Good luck on what is in some ways a new SW journey!

Cloudylemons · 07/09/2016 08:36

Morning everyone, and well done for all the losses!
Do you all drink more than 2 litres of water each day? I'm going to try, but I don't really get thirsty, so it's a case of remembering. Hoping it'll help me not eat as much fruit!
PositiveAttitude, good luck with your interview!

EmilyK83 · 07/09/2016 08:45

Well done Positive - and glad things are looking more positive overall, good luck for the interview!

Welcome Apollo! Hope you enjoy SW! Oooh Basin, keeping everything crossed!

Chough - I picked up the book on maintaining from my consultant yesterday, it's pretty vague isn't it! I honestly think it'll be trial and error for the first few weeks till I work out what works and what doesn't! I was out last night to review a restaurant, lots of deep fried food, and while it was good, my stomach's killing me this morning...definitely coping worse with greasy/fried stuff and want to keep it that way!

Cloudy - you could maybe set reminders in your phone at different times of the day to make sure you drink enough?

This is my plan for today:

B - satsuma and yoghurt
L - HexB ham and laughing cow extra light (1) sandwich with chopped carrot, celery, radishes
D - hot and spicy chicken fillet (0.5), chips, salad

Off out for coffee with someone later, so will count a skinny latte as my HexA, no idea what to do about syns!

chough · 07/09/2016 09:11

Emily, the restaurant meal might mean that you don't increase healthy extras this week, but don't keep syns low to make up for it , either.
As you say, I think it's very much trial and error.
My consultant has often said that she wishes the scales for target members would just read "in target", without focusing on specific gains or losses.
Anyway, you're definitely there by more than the skin of your teeth, as you have 4 pounds to play with there, so see how you get on at next WI.

SnowInLove · 07/09/2016 09:56

Hello :).
I joined SW on Saturday so I'm about half way through my first week. I think it's going ok so far. I have a LOT to lose so hoping for a decent first week loss to get me going and then I'll aim for 2-3 lbs after. I've been weeing for England so hoping that I'm losing lots of fluid!

I've been reading all week and find it motivating to read about the weight losses and sharing meal ideas.

Hoping to report back on Saturday morning with a good loss!

chough · 07/09/2016 10:01

Hello, Snow: you'll find lots of good ideas and friendly support on here.
And always someone around to ask about anything you're not sure of.

BasinHaircut · 07/09/2016 10:59

I'm feeling bloody starving today! It's only the hope of clinging on to that extra 1.5lb loss that is stopping me from going into the biscuit box at work.

I have bought a pack of S&V snack a jackstones this afternoon though which are 5 syns I believe. Need to work in my healthy extras today too as I forget to have them on days I don't have cereal for breakfast. Might get some walnuts......

froubylou · 07/09/2016 11:54

Hello all

Had my WI this morning and managed a maintain. Fuck knows how lol.

Annoyingly had a big poo an hour later so might have managed a loss.

Off out for a meal tonight for mums birthday but going to have steak and salad.

ALemonyPea · 07/09/2016 12:45

Woop whoop Basin!

Good loss Positive, good luck with interview.

Hello newbies and well done losers.

Frouby, commiserations on the after WI poo.

ALemonyPea · 07/09/2016 12:49

Pressed send too soon.

I'm loving all the compliments I'm getting lately off people I've not seen in a while. I also got wolf whistled at today.mdont know whether to be offended or take it as a compliment. If only they saw what was under my clothes. Depressed about the state of my stomach, my overhang is disgusting, like a deflated balloon.

Was considering giving in as it doesn't look as bad when I'm fat. But onwards I plod.

B: fruit salad, snack of M&S calamari and king prawn (2syns)
D: tuna salad, 4 cheddars with HEA cheese
T: salmon and veg rice.

Just realised writing that, Im having fish with everything.

BasinHaircut · 07/09/2016 13:24

You'll have to change you NN to AFishyPea!

LesisMiserable · 07/09/2016 14:05

Starting tomorrow - does anyone know if there are any free sign up vouchers or codes available ? Thanks in advance Smile

BasinHaircut · 07/09/2016 14:10

Welcome Les! I'm sure someone knows of one...

I can not stop thinking abut food today. I've been good so far though, although I've just dug an options hot choc (2syns) from the darkest recesses of my desk drawer to try and stop me from having a biscuit or 9 and all of the food I brought to eat today is gone, so need to hold out until dinner time.

Decided on tinned cod roe, SW chips and some form of speed veg for dinner.

EmilyK83 · 07/09/2016 14:44

Lesis - either Bella or Woman magazine recently had/currently has a voucher which knocks off the £10 joining fee - worth having a flick through both on the shelves...

Changed my lunch. Naked noodles pot with stir fried veg. Bread is off. Oh well!

OP posts:
tabulahrasa · 07/09/2016 14:54

Bella - it came out yesterday and has a voucher.

And a bit late, but congratulations Emily Grin

LesisMiserable · 07/09/2016 18:27

Thanks I'll go pick it up Smile

missmillimentscardigan · 07/09/2016 18:46

Wow Emily - that is a fantastic weight loss! You must feel brilliant!
My target is 9st 13 and was 11st 13 when I started last week. First weigh in tomorrow and I'm quite hopeful that I've lost a few pounds. Some of my clothes feel slightly looser already, but that may be in my head!

EmilyK83 · 07/09/2016 19:34

Thanks tabulah and miss! Good luck for weigh in tomorrow!

Only discovered tonight that Franks Red Hot Buffalo Sauce is 0.5 syns for 3 tbsp! I'd have been having it with everything for the last 8 months if I'd known!

OP posts:
MollyRedskirts · 07/09/2016 19:40

I hope the interview went well, Positive.

I spent a good part of the afternoon exercising my willpower. I bought a massive jar of Jelly Belly jelly beans from Costco and I portioned them out into little 5 syn bags (5 beans = 1 syn) AND I only ate five. I wanted to plunge my face into the jar. They are my favourite sweets ever, and binging on sugar used to be a huge problem for me. I can't quite believe I'm able to have them in the house, but I am.

Still on SP.

B: Quark with 1 tbsp choc shot (2 syns), blackberries, strawberries. Peanut hi-fi bar (1st B).

L: 2 slices Kingsmill crustless wholemeal toast (2/3rd 2nd B)with tin Weight Watchers tuna in tomato sauce (1.5 syns), 2 laughing cow blue cheese triangles (2/5 A), tomatoes, red onion.

T: Will be leftover bolognaise ragu with courgetti, remaining 3 cheese triangles from A choice and remaining slice of bread from B.

I have 10.5 syns left to play with when I watch Bake Off later. Smile

ALemonyPea · 07/09/2016 19:42

What does everyone do for body magic? I'm not keen on exercise. I've had to stop clubbercise as developed plantar faciitis. Might go swimming, andnive increased my walking.

That's fab about Franks sauce Emily. Could do loads with all that!

ALemonyPea · 07/09/2016 19:43

Speaking of peanut hifi bars, I ate my very last one today 😭😭😭
