Bronte, you should be having at least 5 syns minimum a day. If you're struggling, add butter or cheese to things. Or have a snack drawer with little syn things.

OrianaBanana · 29/09/2016 14:09

Envy mugshot was plasticky and not terribly nice but it filled a gap! Chicken looks lovely. Although I would probably have just put my face in the bowl and scarfed it cold by itself.

TheImprobableGirl · 29/09/2016 14:33

Then you'd have had to eat the salad cold though too Sad
I must be the only midlander to put gravy on salad... 😄

Gudgyx · 29/09/2016 16:20

Hi ladies!

Can I join you please?

Started 5 weeks ago, have lost 15lb so far. Started at 14st 3.5lb, was at 13st 2.5lb at my last weigh in on 20th September. I had a holiday in for this weeks as I was away. So being extra specially good this week to make up for the few fatty meals I had at the weekend.

My target is 10st 8lb. The lightest I've ever been and I couldn't have gone any further, any more I would have looked ill and gaunt.

A bit about me - I have an 18 month old dd, keeps life interesting! I also have Crohns Disease. When dd was 8 weeks old, my CD flared badly, blocked my large bowel completely and I almost died. Surgeons managed to catch it before it burst, and saved my life. They removed my large bowel and I now have a permanent ileostomy bag. The bag changed my life completely, gave me my appetite back and let me enjoy food again. Hence me putting on 2.5 st in a year Grin

I'm not exercising. Tbh, I can't be bothered! It hasn't stopped my weight loss yet, when it does, I'll incorporate it. But for now, I won't bother. Fatigue kicks my ass!

Look forward to sharing everything with you ladies!

Egg fried rice or chips, beans and cheese for tea tonight? My cupboards and fridge are depressing bare but I have a couple of old courgettes and a bag of salad for speed. Also have dried pasta, passata, spices etc. Feeling v uninspired!

OrianaBanana · 29/09/2016 18:19

Someone at class suggested this recipe ninnypoo - I'm trying it tonight.

Ooh that looks lovely Banana

I had a bastardised egg fried rice in the end (courgette, sweet corn, rice, chicken stock cube, egg, garlic, paprika, soy sauce). Still feeling peckish but need to start shrinking my stomach again!

justamo · 29/09/2016 21:33

Just caught up. frouby pleased to hear that your sister has 'sort of' been given good news. Sadly WI today resulted in 2.5lb gain. After the previous weeks loss when I was expecting a gain I've been rather lapsidaisical about SW and now it's caught up on me.

I'm going to meal plan tomorrow and get my head back in the game. I'm thinking of doing a couple of SP days to shake things up. Any suggestions for good easy SP dinners not involving eggs or fish - Dh isn't a fan and I cba to cook 2 meals?

Doilooklikeatourist · 29/09/2016 21:45

emwithme · 29/09/2016 22:04

6.5 lbs to go Lemony and I actually think I can do it.

Had half a double decker this afternoon the small half for 6 syns. Was bloody gorgeous. I've been craving one for days so said that I'd have one when I got my 3.5 stone award. I shared it with a colleague because it was just so sweet I didn't think I could do the whole thing. Anyone who knows me IRL would say that is ridiculous...

ALemonyPea · 29/09/2016 22:37

Welcome Gudgyx, well done on your loss so far.

Em, you can do it, you'll get there before October is done for sure!

ALemonyPea · 29/09/2016 22:38

Oops, and welcome Tourist.

TheImprobableGirl · 29/09/2016 22:39

Redpony1 · 30/09/2016 09:33

Wish i had the inclination to cook proper recipes - i am never home long enough (or more likely, early enough)

I do make a mean chilli though so will dig out the SW recipe for that and do that tomorrow!

I LOVE Mexican food, anyone tried any decent Mexican SW recipes?

ALemonyPea · 30/09/2016 19:17

Quiet in here today. Hope everyone is ok.

Mexican food, I usually just do chilli con carne, or put my chilli on lettuce and wedges. Refried beans are free as well. Emily does a Mexican feast, honefully she will be along soon.

Been a crap day foodmwise, I've stuck on plan, but it's been higldy pigldy. I still feel hungry. Will have to try harder tomorrow and eat more filling foods.

justamo · 30/09/2016 20:41

Woe is me. On my second course of antibiotics and I'm not allowed alcohol with these. How will I cope?! Tbh I'm not a big drinker but I'm hankering after a Friday night beer tonight. On the bright side I'll be saving syns.

Food has been a mixed bag today

B - non SW friendly pancakes. Dh was off work today and made these as a treat. I should tell him I'm doing SW.
L - boiled eggs & fruit
D - jacket spud, baked beans, salad & prawns
Extras - Half a ginger muffin, Bourbon biscuit and a Viennese whirl.Blush
Writing it down makes me realise that there is no hexA or B and a billion syns.

emwithme · 30/09/2016 21:21

Well I am babysitting for DN tonight. He is six and a half months old, teething and has a cold. Fortunately he has settled for now, but I am expecting to not sleep well tonight! Earlier we had giant sobs even when he was giggling along to "We went to the animal fair". Poor little sausage.

I came prepared though - brought myself the SW sweet and sour chicken, some eggy muffins, yoghurt, fruit and hifi bars. Was a bit shocked by the S&S chicken, it wasn't chopped up pieces and rice like I was expecting; it was a full butterflied breast, with sweet and sour sauce. It was actually quite nice though (but then again my favourite ever sweet & sour chicken was the one I used to get from Lidl for 99p). As there was no rice, it's actually turned out to be an SP day, too so I've saved the 6 syns that I was going to have to count for the thins/hifi bars.

B: Eggy muffins
L: Chicken salad, apple, pear, satsumas
D: SW Sweet & sour chicken
HEA: Milk
HEB1: Wholemeal thin
HEB2: Hifi bars

ninnypoo · 30/09/2016 22:17

Happy weekend every one!

Today's food has been mixed:

More root veg casserole with some natural yoghurt, 1 muller light, 1 banana, 1 Apple, 2 mini easy peelers, 1 coffee, 1 brownie (oops) and some SW chips with beans and HEXA cheese for tea (cupboard dregs).

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 30/09/2016 22:35

Mixed couple of days for me too, I gave blood yesterday and allowed myself one of their little packs of Bourbon creams afterwards. On the plus side I dug out the slowcooker and made beef with carrots, onions and mushrooms, cooked in their own juices with just a bit of flour to thicken, served with green veg and mash.

Baked for and helped run a cake sale today and only ate one tiny piece of cornflake cake, which required a lot of willpower.

OwlinaTree · 30/09/2016 22:47

Hi guys, trying to recreate takeaway night here. Last weekend we had chilli and tacos and dips which worked well. This Friday we've had sweet and sour sw recipe from the website which although did taste like sweet and sour was in no way 'sauce', it was just runny like water not thick.

Steak and sw chips tomorrow, should be better!

Making a real effort to drink 8 drinks a day at the mo. I'm breastfeeding as well, so important to keep fluids up.

Doilooklikeatourist · 01/10/2016 08:10

Had a Macmillan coffee morning yesterday , allowed myself a tiny slice of chocolate cake
B Muller light , straps and nectarine
L 2 poached eggs , whole meal toast , cherry toms and mushrooms
( this is where things went a bit wrong )
D Tesco ham hock gratin , green beans and 2 3 big glasses of wine
Bit over on the Syns , but otherwise not too bad

Doilooklikeatourist · 01/10/2016 08:16

www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/sweet_and_sour_chicken_52908

This is really nice
I'm a new SW , so have no idea about the Syns

OrianaBanana · 01/10/2016 08:28

DoIlooklikeatourist on a quick look you'd need to syn the tinned pineapple (unless it's a HExB?), brown sugar, cornflour, oil and tomato ketchup but as with most HD recipes you can probably miss out/substitute a fair amount of that. Anyway split between four it probably isn't many syns as it is at all!

OwlinaTree · 01/10/2016 08:57

Thanks for the recipe doi.

Sounds like you had a lovely evening with the wine. I'm bf so I'm really missing lovely red wine. I could sign up for sober October but it would be a bit of a cheat really!
